CHAPTER 63: THE BIG 4

ACTIVATING STURDY SHELL Skill!

One of the perks of being a naturally awakened S-Class is your body turns into steel when in danger!

The fangs of a few B-Grade monsters have nothing on you!

It may sting a bit, but they won’t be able to tear your flesh!

That was what the System told Wonhee while she was being bitten by those monster wolves, hence she was able to remain calm when those monster wolves tried to eat her.

If Wonhee, a newly awakened Guide, had that much protection, then she expected that the members of the Big 4 would have a sturdier body than she did. Hence, she was surprised at how EASILY Yejun broke Graham’s arm.

Not only that.

Yejun also stabbed Graham’s hand with his ice dagger.

[I don’t know if the System lied to me, or did it happen easily because Yejun is stronger than Graham?]

Even so, it was still wrong.

"Yah!" Wonhee yelled after seeing what Yejun did to Graham. She didn’t mean to raise her voice, but it happened because she was shocked. "Yejun-ah, why did you do that? Hunter Graham didn’t mean to hurt me! And I was the one who burned myself."

"It’s still his fault that you got hurt, Wonhee-ya," Yejun said calmly while letting go of Graham’s broken arm. "He deserves to be punished."

Wonhee glared at Yejun.

To be honest, Yejun looked more intimidating now because of the strange cool air around him. But she still wanted to scold him!

She had to pause, though, because she stumbled.

It was as if her body wanted to remind her that she was injured.

Fortunately, Yejun was there to catch Wonhee.

Yejun wrapped an arm around her waist. "Should I carry you?"

"No, I’ll scold you first."

"Okay, I’m listening."

"Even if Hunter Graham deserves to be punished, who gave you the right to punish him, huh?" Wonhee scolded Yejun. "Why did you do it?"

Yejun tilted his head to one side, his face blank. "Because I can?"

Wonhee was flabbergasted.

"I’m alright, Chu Wonhee," Graham assured her. "Hwang Frost is right– I deserve this."

Yejun’s face lit up as if saying: "See? I told you."

Wonhee just rolled her eyes at Yejun. "Hunter Graham, are you alright? Did my guiding work?"

"It shouldn’t, but it worked."

"Huh?"

"This is an emergency, so it’s okay," Graham said, then he explained. "But, normally, a Hunter and a Guide should test their matching rate before they work together. Luckily, it seems like we have a pretty decent matching rate. It’s a surprise since for the past years, only Ahn Kisoo could guide me properly."

Oh, right.

[The Big 4 members have their exclusive Guides.]

"But your guiding worked on me, Chu Wonhee," Graham said, giving him a small smile. "Thank you. I almost lost it."

Wonhee smiled, her cheeks turning warm because she suddenly felt shy. "T-Thank you, Graham-ssi..."

She trailed off when a huge shadow cast over them.

When Wonhee looked up, she gasped when she saw a huge eyeball floating above them.

That thing was the size of the biggest LED sphere in the world!

It was weird because the huge eyeball had a slit in the middle, and that slit was slowly opening– revealing a hoard of monsters waiting to be released.

Wonhee gasped when she realized what it was.

[A dungeon gate!]

But before panic could even register in Wonhee’s system, the giant eyeball had already quickly frozen and turned into a huge ice sculpture.

[Huh?]

Wonhee turned to Yejun, and Yeju was raising his hand with its palm facing the giant eyeball above them.

Ah.

Yejun froze that huge thing as if it was nothing.

"Thank you for making my job easier, Hwang Frost."

Hmm?

It was Song Moonho.

The ahjussi appeared out of thin air and stood above the now-frozen sphere.

But Song Moonho wasn’t alone.

A skeleton dressed in a black hooded cloak– like a stereotypical grim reaper – stood beside him. And that "grim reaper" was even holding an old-looking scythe.

[Only the skeleton didn’t look like it belonged to a human...]

Anyway, that scary-looking "grim reaper" swung the scythe.

Just like that, the frozen sphere had been cut into hundreds of pieces.

And those sliced pieces were now falling down on them...

"Protect Chu Wonhee."

Yejun scoffed at what Graham said. "You didn’t have to remind me of my job."

Graham just sighed while shaking his head, then he raised his hands.

Woah.

Hundreds of fireballs shot out of Graham’s palms continuously.

Wonhee winced because she knew that Graham’s arm was broken, and his hand was still bleeding. And yet the Hunter was already raising his arms as if he wasn’t injured.

[I know Hunter Graham is hurt, but seeing him in action is quite entertaining.]

The fireballs hit the broken pieces of the frozen sphere and melted them.

Wonhee wanted to watch more, but she was surprised when her body suddenly got lifted.

It was because Yejun carried her in his arms.

She didn’t complain because she saw the thin layer of a dome-shaped barrier protecting them from the debris.

It seemed like the barrier was made of a thin layer of ice.

And it was pretty chilly inside the shield.

Wonhee unconsciously leaned into Yejun’s body for warmth.

Yejun looked down at her with an amused look on his face. "Cold?"

"Not really. Your body is warm..."

"See? Didn’t I tell you?"

"What do you mean by that?"

Yejun smiled– and it was a genuine, full-blown smile that showed his complete set of white teeth. "You need my arms around your body to keep you warm."

Hmm?

Yejun was already handsome, but he looked more handsome when he wasn’t sneering or acting haughty.

Was that the reason Wonhee’s face suddenly turned warm?

[I can’t believe I’m feeling this way when it hasn’t been long since I got dumped.]

Ashamed of her weakness, she avoided Yejun’s teasing gaze.

[Do all Hunters flirt with their Guides all the time?!]

Fortunately, Wonhee got distracted when it suddenly rained.

But that rain was obviously not normal.

Aside from the fact that the "rain" extinguished Graham’s red flames that couldn’t be extinguished by ordinary water, the "rain" in question was also some kind of a gold liquid...

... like a potion.

[Semi Unnie!]

Wonhee’s face beamed when she saw Semi running towards them.

But, all of a sudden, the Status Window that popped up in front of her face blocked the view of her older sister.

EMERGENCY!

Chu Wonhee is running out of Mana!

Your Fear Resistance, Sturdy Shell, and I Must Be Protected At All Costs will be deactivated in the meantime to save your remaining energy!

But why?

Wonhee didn’t have the time to complain when the barrier that Yejun made to protect them slowly disappeared.

That was when she realized that the chaos was over.

The eyeball, aka the dungeon gate, had already disappeared.

And now, the Big 4 surrounded Wonhee.

[Wait... what’s this?]

"Hee-ya, are you alright?"

"Miss Chu doesn’t look alright to me."

"It was my fault– Chu Wonhee got hurt because I almost lost my mind."

Wonhee hugged herself when her body started to tremble because of fear.

The aura of the Big 4 was no joke.

She couldn’t even look at her own big sister because she suddenly found every single one of the Big 4 frightening.

In fact, she suddenly felt like throwing up.

"Get away from Wonhee."

With just one cold line from Yejun, the other three members of the Big 4 were pushed away by the cold gust of wind coming from Yejun.

Semi, Graham, and Song Moonho looked shocked by what happened.

Wonhee felt bad for the three, but having a bigger distance away from them gave her some room to breathe.

"Wonhee-ya, are you alright?"

She was afraid to look up at Yejun because she thought she’d find him scary, too.

But she felt compelled to look at his face.

Ah.

Wonhee was so relieved to find Yejun’s handsome face refreshing.

The nausea that she felt earlier disappeared like magic.

WARNING!

Chu Wonhee’s Mana has run out!

You’ll faint in 5, 4, 3...

"Yejun-ah, penthouse..." Wonhee said weakly, her heavy eyelids forcing her to close her eyes quicker than expected. "Let’s sleep..."

SOOBIN’S knees buckled while watching the broadcast being shown on national TV at the moment.

The shot was taken a bit farther from the scene.

Moreover, the video didn’t have audio.

However, it was clear enough to see what was happening.

Soobin and the rest of Korea were shocked while watching the video– and it was the video of Chu Wonhee guiding Graham while several monster wolves were biting her torso and legs.

[Our Hee-ya...!]

Yes, that historical moment was recorded unbeknownst to Wonhee and the Big 4.

To simply say, the "debut" of the first and only S-Class Guide in the world was a huge success– domestically AND globally.
