CHAPTER 68: EXPENSIVE POTIONS

WONHEE was relieved when the burn marks on her palm disappeared after Semi poured a potion that looked like sparkling water over her burned hand. "Thank you, Unnie."

Soobin already left because Geon called and said there was an emergency.

Song Moonho also left as soon as the contract signing was done.

Graham had also left because he needed to drop by the hospital and visit Ahn Kisoo.

Semi also had to leave soon because her son called, but Semi stayed to heal Wonhee’s burn marks first.

"How much is it for the potion, Unnie?"

"Why would I make my baby sister pay?" Semi asked, smiling. "Right. Now that you’re an Awakened Person, you already have your own Inventory. Right?"

Wonhee smiled and nodded. "Yes, Unnie. The System sent me a manual on how to use the Inventory. It also sent me the list of the things that I need to store in my Inventory as a part of my duty as an Awakened People. I’m just waiting for my orders to arrive."

"Very well," her older sister said, gently patting her head. "Go to my house tomorrow, Hee-ya. I’ll give you all the potions that you might need. Although you’re a Guide and you’re not required to enter dungeons, there are instances where a Crack suddenly bursts open and swallow people. So, it’s important that you always carry potions and rations in your Inventory."

"I understand, Unnie. Thank you."

"Anything for our Hee-ya," Semi said, then she gently pinched her cheeks. "I need to go because your nephew is causing trouble again. But don’t worry, I’ll deal with Kwon Jiwoong. Don’t answer any call from APA."

Right.

Kwon Jiwoong called earlier to ask when Wonhee was available for a press conference,

"My agency also called and told me that APA’s PR Director contacted them," Wonhee said. "Unnie, is it alright if I just let my agency’s representatives talk to APA in my place? I really don’t want to talk to them."

"Of course. You don’t have to face them yourself. Let your agency and this unnie of yours take care of everything. All you have to do is prepare for the presscon."

"Thank you, Unnie."

"You’re welcome, sweetie," Semi said, then she let out a soft gasp. "Hee-ya, can I borrow one of your cars? Your nephew will find out I’m coming home if I ask someone from the company and the guild to pick me up. I want to catch that brat red-handed."

Wonhee laughed softly, then she nodded. "You can use any of my cars, Unnie."

After getting the car key of her choice, Semi left the penthouse.

Wonhee was about to ask Yejun to help her schedule when he suddenly ran past her.

Hmm?

"I’ll just step outside for a bit, Wonhee-ya," Yejun said in a hurry. "I’ll be back!"

"You better come back," Wonhee said worriedly. "Oppa and Unnie said people shouldn’t see you outside yet!"

"SEMI Noona," Yejun called his fellow Big 4 member as he ran after her. "Can we talk for a moment?"

The meeting was over.

Yeon Soobin and the Big 4 signed a contract with the System.

Although Yejun wasn’t fond of the idea that he had to "share" his Wonhee to other Hunters, he was relieved that more people would protect her now.

But he still wasn’t satisfied with that.

Hence, he ran after Semi when Semi left the penthouse.

Yejun heard Semi borrow one of Wonhee’s cars earlier, so he knew where to find her: the basement parking of the apartment complex where Wonhee’s many luxury cars were parked.

He tried not to get distracted, but Wonhee’s cars all looked cool.

"What is it?" Semi asked, crossing her arms over her chest. "Make it quick. I need to meet my son in twenty minutes."

"I need all flame-related potions, Noona."

She raised an eyebrow at him. "You mean potions that can protect Wonhee from getting burned again?"

"Am I being too obvious, Noona?"

"You never cared about getting one for yourself because you’re confident that if you can beat Graham, then you can beat any fire-wielding monsters," Semi said, clicking her tongue. "You’re really taking good care of our Hee-ya, huh?"

"Is that a bad thing?"

"Soobin told me that you already figured out the fact that the System favors people who genuinely love our Hee-ya," Semi said in a serious tone. "But don’t get us wrong, Yejun-ah. Soobin and I may not be that kind to our baby sister when we were young. But we’ve grown to love her eventually– and the System has nothing to do with it."

"Noona, I don’t really care about your family affairs."

"I suddenly don’t feel like selling potions to you anymore."

"Noona, do you want me to give you advice?"

"Forget it," Semi said, scoffing. "Do you have money to pay for the potions? You know how much high-quality potions cost, don’t you?"

"Of course."

"And you have the money for it? I thought your assets were frozen."

"Well, I have that thing called slush fund."

"That’s not something you should be proud of."

"Noona talks like you don’t have one."

"Cheeky brat," Semi said, rolling her eyes. "I’ll give you the best potions I have because it’s for our Hee-ya. But you have to prepare a fortune. My potions aren’t cheap."

"Don’t worry about my finances, Noona," Yejun said confidently. "I still have more than enough to give my Wonhee a comfortable life."

Semi suddenly hit Yejun on the back. "I will never accept you as my brother-in-law."

"DID you miss me, Yool-ah?"

Tsk.

Yool thought he could rest while in Ryung Dae’s penthouse.

But what was Graham doing here?

"How did you know I’m here, Graham-ssi?" Yool asked, confused. "And how did you get here?"

"I let him in," Ryung Dae said, heading straight to the kitchen while talking. "We met when I delivered food to Ahn Kisoo. I mentioned you were staying at my place, so he asked me to bring him here because he wanted to talk to you. He asked me to keep it a secret because he wanted to surprise you, Yool-ssi. I hope that’s alright."

Yool couldn’t really complain since it was Ryung Dae’s place.

[This is his place, so he can invite anyone he wants to invite.]

Moreover, Graham was the "friendliest" member of the Big 4 so he was safe.

[He’s annoying, but that’s alright.]

"It’s alright, Chef. Thank you," Yool said to Ryung Dae, then he turned to Graham. "Follow me."

Graham, who was smiling like an idiot, gave him a salute. "Yes, sir."
