CHAPTER 69: INVENTORY

"YES, Sajang-nim," Wonhee said, nodding while talking to the CEO of Golden Era Entertainment on the phone. "I’m fine with that date. But please tell APA to remind the reporters that I will only answer questions related to my awakening as a Guide. Any questions regarding my personal life won’t be entertained."

Because she was pretty sure that the reporters would want to ask her questions about her relationship with Lee Seodam.

"I understand, Wonhee-ya. We’ll relay your message to APA’s PR Director."

"Thank you, Sajang-nim. Just call me again if you have questions."

Wonhee had just finished talking to the CEO when Yejun returned.

"I’m back, Wonhee-ya."

"You should seriously be careful, Yejun-ah," Wonhee scolded him lightly. "If Civilians caught sight of you, then APA would scold us."

Yejun just scoffed. "They can try."

She just sighed while shaking her head. "Anyway, aren’t you going to submit a report to APA? I heard my unnie and oppa, as well as Graham and Song Moonho-ssi, have already submitted a report. Geon Oppa took care of the report for me, but how about yours?"

"Nah, I’m not an active Hunter at the moment anyway."

"Yejun-ah, you live such a carefree life, don’t you?"

"Well, that’s the Big 4 for you," Yejun said, then he sat next to her on the sofa. "Wonhee-ya, are you not going to ask?"

"About what?"

"About what the System offered me," he said. "You don’t look curious."

Oh.

To be honest, Wonhee didn’t ask because she didn’t want to know.

Moreover...

[The System blatantly bribing Soobin Oppa and the Big 4 reminded me of my theory– theory that Yejun and my older siblings are only good to me because they get a reward from the System by simply loving me and taking care of me.]

It was something that Wonhee could simply ask to Soobin and Semi so that she wouldn’t misunderstand her older siblings.

[I also don’t want to doubt their love for me.]

However...

[One heartbreak for now is enough. I’ll ask Oppa and Unnie about it later, once I’ve completely moved on from Seodam Oppa.]

And about Yejun...

[I don’t have the right to criticize Yejun if he’s only being good to me because of the System. After all, I’m also being good to him because of my side quest.]

Wonhee let out a sigh.

"What?" Yejun complained lightly. "Why are you sighing while looking at my face?"

"Nothing," Wonhee said, then she changed the topic. "So, what did the System offer you as a reward?"

"A deeper connection with you."

"Huh?"

Yejun grinned, his eyes turning little crescent moons. "I’ll tell you about it later. I need to come home first and arrange some stuff."

Wonhee knitted her eyebrows. "I’m more curious about that. Where do you go every time you disappear, Yejun-ah?"

"I can’t tell you."

"Why?"

"Because if I do, then you’ll become an accomplice."

Wonhee gasped softly. "Are you staying somewhere illegal, Yejun-ah?"

"You can say that," Yejun said, shrugging. "I’m not exactly a law-abiding citizen, you see."

Omo.

"I HEARD you saved Ahn Kisoo."

Yool scoffed at what Graham said. "I didn’t?"

After leaving Ryung Dae’s penthouse (and leaving Ahyeon there), Yool brought Graham to the convenience store next to the Nom Nom Restaurant.

[Yes, I brought a member of the Big 4 to a convenience store.]

In his defense, it was an empty place except for the young part-timer who was way too busy with his phone. No one would recognize Graham even though they sat on the chairs under the umbrella in front of the store.

[Plus, Graham is sensible enough to wear a cap and a mask.]

"Ahn Kisoo told me everything, and I read the report," Graham said, then he chugged down the can of cider that Yool bought for him. "I won’t ask you how you seem to already know about Song Sunho’s plan."

"You won’t?"

"Because I trust you, Yool-ah."

Pfft.

"And I’m more concerned about the fact that this incident caused Song Moonho to pay attention to you," Graham said in a serious tone. "Is Song Moonho still bothering you?"

"No," Yool said. "And even if he does, it’s none of your concern, Graham-ssi. I can take care of myself."

"You’re so cold, Yool-ah."

"Then stop acting friendly with me?"

Graham just laughed it off. "By the way, I can’t tell you the details. But I’ve become Chu Wonhee’s bodyguard."

Okay, that was interesting.

"Really? That’s good then. Protect Ahyeonnie as well while you’re at it."

"I want to protect you, too, Yool-ah," Graham said in a serious tone. "I’m going to stay with Ahn Kisoo until he recovers. So, why don’t you move in with us? In that way, I can protect both of you."

[Is he crazy?]

Yool knitted his eyebrows. "I’m sorry, but I don’t have any intention of becoming the second male lead in your love story."

[OH, THEY’RE finally here~]

Wonhee’s morning started right when the things that she ordered online finally arrived and filled the living room of her penthouse.

Those were all groceries.

There were hundreds of bottled water, cups of ramen, canned goods, and snacks.

There were also hundreds of basic clothes, first-aid kits, flashlights, and whistles.

Of course, she couldn’t forget about hygiene kits.

So far, Wonhee had already crossed out all the things that the System asked him to store in her Inventory in case of an emergency.

"Wonhee-ya, are you going to donate all of that?"

"Good morning, Yejun-ah," Wonhee greeted him cheerfully. "No, I’m not going to donate them– I’m going to put all of them in my Inventory."

"Huh?"

"Aren’t all Awakened People required to save rations in their Inventory to distribute during an emergency?" she asked. "F-Class Hunters are required to stock supplies for at least fifteen people. Thirty people for E-Class Hunters. Fifty for D-Class Hunters. Eighty for C-Class Hunters. One hundred for B-Class Hunters. One hundred fifty for A-Class Hunters. Then it’s five hundred for us, right?"

"Nah. It’s only three hundred for the Big 4," Yejun said, clicking his tongue. "See? The System is already taking advantage of your generosity."

Oh.

But even if that was the case...

"It’s alright," Wonhee said. "I’d love to help more people anyway."

Yejun only sighed while shaking his head. "Wonhee-ya, do you want to come to my place?"

All of a sudden?
