MY Masochistic CEO
Chapter 163 - 163 vice president's Gambit
Melody glared at me, and I chuckled, returning to my seat.
Grace wore a formal outfit today because it was the official trial operation day for WY Media Company.
Finance, HR, front desk, and marketing were all in place.
Luckily, it was Thursday, so there wouldn't be a company meeting. I sat in the office for a while, gesturing to Grace. She understood, so she walked over with her bag. "I have a meeting with the project manager of Marquesa Vines company today to finalize the plan."
I secretly praised her. Despite receiving the first payment from Marquesa Vines company, we scheduled the market launch for the end of this month.
It was a perfect excuse.
I approached Melody. "Ms. Wilson, Grace, and I are going to the Marquesa Vines company. I am just informing you."
Melody glanced at me and then at Grace, and I could tell she was a bit displeased.
I thought, Wow, her mood changes so quickly?
"When will you be back?"
"If everything goes smoothly, we'll be back by noon. If not, it might take until the afternoon."
"Just to confirm a plan, does it take that long?"
Melody snorted.
Damn, she was really jealous.
"Ms. Wilson, we also have other clients to visit in the afternoon." This chapter is part of the collection on *.
"Visit other clients?"
Melody gave me a cold glance. "Which client? What's the company's name?"
Damn, she was really suspicious.
"If Ms. Wilson doesn't believe me, I can take photos and share my location with you later."
I thought she could sense my discontent, but to my surprise, Melody said, "Alright, not only do you have to take photos, but you also have to share your location with me. If you dare deceive me, you'll see my retribution."
I understood her underlying message. When she said that, she was speaking as my girlfriend, not as my supervisor.
After all, I was already a vice supervisor now, so I didn't need to report to her.
Was I showing too much respect for her?
"Alright! I'll share my location!"
I said stiffly, "Grace, let's go."
As soon as we reached the door, Tatiana Camille's assistant stopped me. "Ms. Camille wants to see William Maine!"
Damn, she even let the assistant come down to stop me!
I needed to get back to the office, so I didn't have time to play around!
"Um, I have a client meeting scheduled. It's not good to be late. Could you please let Ms. Camille know that I plan to visit her after I finish?"
"William Maine, who's more important, the client or Ms. Camille?"
The assistant snorted, "I've informed you. Whether you go up or not is your business. If Ms. Camille blames you later, don't say I didn't warn you!"
After speaking, she walked away in her high heels.
I was annoyed and said to Grace, "Wait for me here. I'll be right back."
Grace nodded. "Do you want me to come with you?"
I felt touched. "No need."
Soon, I arrived at the vice president's office door. I knocked, and Tatiana Camille's voice came from inside. "Come in."
I walked in and saw Tatiana Camille looking at me with a stern expression. "William Maine, where were you yesterday?"
Her abrupt reprimand infuriated me, but I recalled that I had, in fact, made a promise to her before standing her up. So I suppressed my anger. "Ms. Camille, I'm sorry, I was working late yesterday, so..."
"Working late? Are you trying to fool me?"
"Absolutely not."
I immediately defended myself. "I was working late with Ms. Wilson yesterday."
Tatiana Camille snorted. "Fine, even if you were working late, why didn't you come after work? And where were you? I messaged you. Why didn't you reply?"
"A client called me after work. I was even carried home yesterday."
"Was it Edward Wallace or George?"
"George. We had dinner at the Sevan Dragon Palace. You can check!"
I had to mix truth with lies to make it believable.
"So, I'm not important to you at all, am I? You ignore what I say."
Tatiana Camille's face was frosty.
I swallowed nervously. Her anger was quite attractive.
However, due to her gastritis, her face was a bit pale, and her cheeks looked a bit thinner than before, making me feel sorry for her.
I couldn't help but say, "Ms. Camille, you seem to have lost weight compared to a few days ago. It would help if you rested at home for a few days. Why don't you take care of yourself?"
Tatiana Camille was shocked, obviously not expecting me to say that.
"Don't change the subject," she said coldly, but her complexion had improved significantly.
I felt relieved and said, "It's my fault. If you want to punish me, I accept it. But I hope you take care of yourself. It's heartbreaking to see you like this."
Her father's compulsion to seduce her teacher and her mysterious attitude towards her superiors suggested that the woman was likely experiencing inner loneliness. I knew she harbored some secrets, like her deep hatred for her father and Steven Walton.
The in-car video allowed for this observation.
But I was wondering, if she didn't love Steven Walton, why was she working so hard to help Skylight Group generate more revenue?
Only one possibility came to mind!
She wanted to be queen, or even take over!
She suddenly developed acute gastroenteritis, and the first person she thought of was me, which indicated she had almost no friends in her private life.
That night, I deliberately checked her call records, and during that period, there was only me.
What does a physically and mentally exhausted woman need the most?
Care and protection!
From the moment I entered, the first thing she said to me was clear.
In theory, I was just her subordinate. I currently serve as her driver and may be the future director of the project development department.
However, none of these relationships were enough to make her treat me like this, including the message she sent yesterday, which was not something a vice president would send to a subordinate.
It resembled a conversation between friends as they stood up.
When is a person most vulnerable?
The answer is when they are sick, feel helpless, and no one cares.
When I said those caring words, I knew I had won the bet.
While my emotions were running high, my brain was also spinning rapidly.
