CHAPTER 164: CHAPTER 164 THE BOSS

"Is this what you should be saying?" Tatiana Camille said it sternly, but it sounded lacking in authority.

"Ms. Camille, I am your subordinate in the company, but outside the company, I don’t want to treat you as my leader."

"Then what should you treat me as?"

"A friend!"

"A friend?"

Tatiana Camille sneered. "Do you think you can be friends with me?"

"Why not?"

I looked her in the eyes, sincerely asking, "Maybe one day in the future, when I’m no longer at Skylight, do I still have to respect you as a leader? That would be too fake."

"Right now, you are not qualified to be friends with me," Tatiana Camille said.

"Not now, but there will be opportunities in the future."

I smiled. "Who knows what the future holds!"

"William Maine, you have a way with words. I originally called you in to reprimand you, but as I spoke, my anger dissipated, and I almost became your friend. It’s a shame you’re not handling multi-level marketing."

"If you were handling it, I would follow without hesitation."

"William Maine, I see great potential in you, but you are too weak right now. Don’t say such things today, and even if you want to, wait until you have the strength to say them. Do you understand?" There was a hint of mockery in her eyes.

"Then, Ms. Camille, I’ll look forward to it. One day, you will consider me a friend."

"At six in the evening, come with me to the hospital. If you dare not show up this time, pack up your things and resign."

"Yes!"

I nodded, relieved in my heart, knowing that I had managed to get through it.

After all, she was my boss.

As I went downstairs, Grace was still waiting. When she saw me, she hurried over and asked, "What did Ms. Camille want with you?"

"Nothing. She just asked about the project."

I smiled. "Come in quickly. They are waiting for us over there!"

Grace didn’t ask much but complained. "Ms. Wilson is really targeting you, right? You’re already a deputy director, and she still wants you to take photos and share your location!"

I chuckled. "Isn’t that a normal procedure?"

"I feel for you."

Grace touched my face. "Once things are on track over there, we’ll leave Skylight without having to endure her."

I held her hand, saying, "Having you gives me confidence."

Grace withdrew her hand, her face blushing. I thought to myself, I asked you to act innocent, not actually be innocent.

However, her shy demeanor piqued my interest.

But with people coming and going in the elevator, I didn’t dare to be too forward. Holding hands and touching faces was already pushing the limit.

After getting off the elevator, we headed straight to the Century Building.

The company had already installed its sign at the entrance, and we could obtain the license today. As soon as we stepped out of the elevator, we saw a dozen people standing there. When they saw me, they quickly said, "Quick, the boss is here."

They immediately stood up straight. "Hello, boss!"

Upon hearing this, I felt as if I had taken a rejuvenation pill.

Indeed, the joy of being a boss was beyond imagination.

"You all are good, too. Sorry to keep you waiting!"

I opened the door and walked in first. They were amazed to see that the company had undergone a major transformation.

"Wow, the middle is actually connected. Boss, does that side also belong to our company?"

I nodded. "Yes, both sides are! This side is one team. That side is another team. This office is for HR and finance..."

After introducing the company’s layout, I gathered everyone and held the first WY Media Company all-staff meeting. "First of all, thank you all for choosing WY Media Company. Despite the company’s recent establishment, I assure you that the resources it offers are on par with those of large companies. Secondly, in terms of salary and benefits, you will not be lacking in any aspect."

Everyone applauded, and I raised my hand to quiet them down. This kind of feeling was indeed great. "Besides, there is no oppression here and no reliance on relationships. Only performance speaks. Whether it’s HR, Finance, or the project department, everyone must cooperate fully with the marketing department."

I emphasized the marketing department’s leadership role, which was necessary. With their performance in the early stages, we would be able to achieve much.

"This month, I will personally provide a bonus of $20,000, $10,000 for the top seller, $6,000 for the second place, and $4,000 for the third place."

I took out the two bundles of cash I had prepared in advance, placed them in a glass box, and put them in the most prominent place. "Do you want them?"

"Yes!" everyone shouted in unison.

When they saw those two bundles of cash, the people below began to breathe heavily, their eyes filled with a desire for money.

I was somewhat relieved. It was a good thing that Mary Walker had come that day. If I had recruited a bunch of decorative vases, things might have turned out differently.

Only those who desire success and money would become the backbone of the company.

"Good, if you want them, then work hard for them!"

I didn’t like long speeches, which was a waste of time. It’s better to keep things concise whenever possible.

After the meeting, Grace introduced herself. I had originally wanted to appoint her as a supervisor, but then I thought it would be a bad idea. Selecting middle management from among these individuals is crucial, rather than imposing it. To motivate them, they needed to see hope for advancement.

So, I appointed Grace as the marketing department’s director, focusing on training in the early stages. Besides, she did have some ability when handling things.

Plus, she was pretty, which gave her an added advantage.

Even a fool knows how to choose between an ugly person and a beauty.

After the meeting, Grace quickly got into the groove and went to the meeting room to train them. We could use the training materials from Skylight, as their training system was already very mature.

I then handed over the later recruitment to HR. As for public relations and the marketing department, we still needed about twenty more people for project planning.

Honestly, the pressure was quite high. With over thirty employees, their basic monthly salary exceeded ten thousand dollars.
