CHAPTER 10: CHAPTER 10: ARE YOU SICK IN THE HEAD?

"Morning." Landon Sutton looked up at Shannon Quinn, greeting her.

He sat at the round table in the client reception area, holding a financial newspaper with a steaming hot cup of tea beside him, as if he’d been waiting a long time.

Shannon Quinn frowned deeply, her displeasure clearly visible.

"Morning, Yana." The young woman at the front desk smiled, winked at her, and leaned in to say, "Mr. Sutton came over before we opened and has been waiting for a while."

Shannon Quinn truly didn’t want to deal with Landon Sutton; she’d never seen a man so thick-skinned.

But her role at work required her to address him directly; otherwise, he’d repeatedly cause trouble.

Taking a deep breath, she turned on her high heels and walked directly toward Landon Sutton, seating herself opposite him and smiling as she asked, "Mr. Sutton, do you have any more comments on yesterday’s proposal?"

Landon Sutton casually folded the newspaper in his hand, placing it beside him, and eyed Shannon Quinn up and down.

Her attire was slightly more professional, making her appear a bit more mature than usual.

Seeing the clear impatience in Shannon Quinn’s eyes, he leisurely took a sip of tea and responded with a question, "Did you have breakfast?"

"Mr. Sutton, if you have something to say, just say it and don’t talk about irrelevant things. Not everyone is as idle as you."

"Are you free at noon? Let’s have lunch together."

Shannon Quinn dropped her fake smile, glanced at her colleagues behind her, and, seeing no one else in the shop, couldn’t hold back as she whispered, "Are you out of your mind?!"

"Shannon, why are you swearing?" He deliberately raised his voice so the front desk girl could hear.

The girl rushed over, smiling, apologizing, "Mr. Sutton might have misunderstood. You know, as women, we have those days every month when our moods are not great. Please be understanding. If you have any needs, you can tell me, and I can relay them to Designer Quinn for you."

"No need, let Miss Quinn talk to me personally; some things are clearer that way. Please get Miss Quinn a cup of hot water."

Shannon Quinn was frustrated but couldn’t vent, unsure of what she did to land herself in such a situation.

"Shannon, you..."

"Don’t call me Shannon!"

Landon Sutton raised his eyebrows slightly, looking amused at her exasperated state, and corrected, "Yana?"

"What exactly do you want?!"

"I’ve heard that this studio is quite renowned internationally. I don’t know about the designs, but I must say the service attitude is very disappointing."

Seeing Landon Sutton’s annoying demeanor, Shannon Quinn clenched her fists and held back repeatedly, finally getting up to speak to the front desk girl, "Faye, see what Mr. Sutton needs and take care of it. I have other things to do."

With that, Shannon Quinn grabbed her bag and turned to go upstairs.

At the staircase, she saw a group of gossipy colleagues all eavesdropping.

"Hey Shannon, is Landon Sutton trying to hit on you?"

"Hit on your nonsense! Is everyone just idling away first thing in the morning?"

Shannon Quinn shut herself in her office, furiously rubbing her hair.

The weather outside was bad, turning into a thunderstorm quickly.

The thunder and lightning made Shannon Quinn feel a bit guilty; that matter was destined to be her unresolved issue, possibly forever...

"Knock knock," Assistant Yara Hughes entered, handing a file to Shannon Quinn, saying, "Shannon, here’s a file the boss sent over. Go through it when you’re free."

"Just leave it there."

Yara Hughes nodded, placing down the file but not leaving immediately. Instead, she smiled with meaning, "Shannon, that handsome Landon is still downstairs, and you’re just leaving him hanging?"
