CHAPTER 129: CHAPTER 129: YOU’LL REGRET THIS SOMEDAY

Shannon Quinn didn’t know what Gillian Sherman was up to, afraid she might end up being falsely accused later, she stood up and said, "Call 120."

Aidan Lockwood made the call and walked in, overhearing the remarks of the people nearby on his way.

As he walked over to take a look, before he could say anything, Gillian saw Aidan coming, and her act intensified.

With tears looking at Sheila Yardley, she said, "Elaine, I really didn’t expect you to be this kind of person. It wasn’t my plan to take over your position, if you feel I’ve hindered you, just tell me directly, and I’ll resign. Is there a need to be so cruel?"

"What I said has nothing to do with Elaine. I accidentally stepped on you, and I’ve apologized. Do you always love to exaggerate things for yourself?"

"Even if you hit someone, you remain so arrogant? And accuse me of exaggerating! I originally didn’t want to make a big deal out of this; if my leg is fine, fine. But if anything happens, neither of you will escape responsibility!"

Shannon Quinn knew Gillian Sherman’s injury wasn’t serious, or to say, wasn’t an injury at all. Everyone was actually clear about her nature, so she advised, "We all need to work together in the future, let’s be considerate and understanding of each other."

Lynn Kendall followed up on Shannon’s words, saying, "Right, we’re all colleagues, meeting is fate, let’s not say harsh words and not act too definitively."

Aidan Lockwood managed the situation saying, "Alright, I’ll first call a family doctor to check things out, if it’s really serious, we can send you to the hospital later."

Aidan called over the doctor to examine Gillian, touched her leg, and no matter where he touched, she said it was very painful.

The doctor felt her bones and said it should be fine, but Gillian insisted she couldn’t stand up.

Finally, with no other choice, they had to call for an ambulance and sent Gillian to the hospital.

What was supposed to be a happy gathering turned unpleasant due to this little episode.

Shannon said she wanted to go to the bathroom and asked Sheila to accompany her, actually wanting to find out the specifics of what happened.

After listening to Sheila’s account, Shannon sighed and said, "Consider it a lesson for you. You’re not completely in the workforce yet; the struggles at work can be much more complicated than today’s matter. Sometimes you want to do your work steadily, but others won’t be honest and will try to trip you up."

"Yes, today I witnessed those people’s ability to distort the truth. If it weren’t for Professor Lockwood understanding the situation, Yara and I would have been in trouble tonight."

"No worries, once the hospital checks the results, she won’t be able to linger in the hospital for long."

At the bathroom entrance, Sheila said to Shannon, "Shannon, you go ahead, I’ll wait outside."

"Okay."

Shannon went in not long before Lynn also headed towards the bathroom.

Sheila glanced at her, assuming she was also there for the bathroom, didn’t greet and continued to look at her phone.

Unexpectedly, Lynn’s high heels appeared in her view and then stopped.

Sheila raised her head in confusion, looking at Lynn standing in front of her.

Lynn sneered slightly, looked at Sheila, and said, "Gillian is the one I brought into the company, she’s my person. If you lay hands on her, it’s going against me. Tonight, I saw many people, didn’t want to escalate things, so I didn’t argue. If you continue to play tricks in secret, even if you’re with Shannon Quinn, I have ways to deal with you."

Sheila also smiled fearlessly and said, "Who is playing tricks, they know in their hearts."

"Just wait and see, I have plenty of ways to deal with you, you’ll regret it."

After saying this, Lynn stepped into the bathroom with a sway of her hips, coincidentally meeting Shannon coming out of it.

She changed her fierce demeanor from earlier with Sheila, greeted Shannon with a smile.

After Shannon came out, washing her hands by the sink, she asked Sheila, "What did she say to you just now?"

Sheila pursed her lips and said, "She thinks I framed Gillian Sherman, says she plans to deal with me."

Shannon just smiled and said, "Don’t worry, as long as I’m still at the company, she can’t do anything to you."

Sheila also felt reassured that with Shannon as her shield, Lynn couldn’t do anything to her.

However, both underestimated Lynn’s tricks and methods...

A week later, Shannon received a message from Vincent Rhodes.

At that time, it was past eight in the evening, Erin Bishop was on a business trip, the weather was cold, and she had gone to bed early to kill time with a variety show.

Just when she was watching television, a message from Vincent popped up on the screen.

In that moment, she almost jumped out of bed, her early sleepiness vanished instantly.

She clicked on the message, its content was concise: Just landed, The Grandior Hotel, room 902, come over now.

Shannon’s mind momentarily blanked, without thinking, she flipped and grabbed her long down jacket, wrapped it around herself, took the car keys, and rushed out.

In the elevator, she replied on her phone: You’re already here?

Without waiting for his response, she hurried downstairs, drove towards the hotel.

The hotel wasn’t far from where she lived, almost there Shannon realized that Vincent might have chosen to stay at the hotel assuming it was inconvenient with Erin at home?

If she’d known earlier, she would have told him she was home alone, and he could come directly home.

But the car was already parked at the hotel entrance, Shannon couldn’t be bothered with so many considerations, parked the car, registered at the front desk, and headed straight for room 902.

The room door was ajar, not closed. Shannon gently knocked on it, hearing no sound inside, she cautiously pushed the door open, peeked inside.

The room was dimly lit, only the bedside lamp was on, illuminating a small portion.

"Meeting your own husband in a hotel, what’s there to sneak around for?" A familiar hoarse voice came from the darkness, Shannon looked towards the sound and saw the silhouette sitting on the sofa.

After confirming it was him in the room, Shannon smiled, pushed the door all the way open, walked in, then turned to close the door.

Her hand touched the light switch on the door, she softly asked him, "Can I turn on the light?"

"Afraid of the dark?" Actually, last time in the changing room, he already knew this about her.

Shannon shook her head, "No worries, I can see..."

What she was afraid of was the unknown darkness, but with him there, she felt at ease.

Shannon, guided by the dim light in the room, walked towards him and asked, "How long can you stay this time?"

"I have to leave in two days."

Though she had imagined this result, Shannon still felt a bit downcast, unwilling to accept it, she asked, "...then for the New Year, can you come back?"
