CHAPTER 2: CHAPTER 2: WHY DON’T WE CALL THE POLICE?

"Need me to call your husband to come pick you up?"

Shannon Quinn, recalling what happened last night, her eyes filled with hatred, grabbed the ashtray from the bedside table and hurled it at the man, "Bastard!"

The man stood there, unfazed, the ashtray smashing against the wall behind him, scattering into pieces.

"How much do you charge? I’ll give you double, after all, it’s your first time."

"Get out! Get out!" Shannon wished she could tear the man in front of her to pieces.

The man didn’t seem to acknowledge Shannon’s anger; he casually took a wad of cash out of his wallet, walked over and placed it on the bed, saying, "Should I just leave, or wait here for your husband to come and deal with me? Or..."

Before the man finished speaking, Shannon, infuriated, picked up the wad of cash and threw it at him, pointing to the door: "Get out."

"You seem quite unconvinced. How about we call the cops? You decide, rape or solicitation."

The man’s smile was inscrutable. In his memory, she was still a gentle girl, he had never seen her so enraged, ready to bite.

He considered this incident a lesson for her, to prevent her from making stupid mistakes in the future, and to deal with those reckless individuals.

Shannon took a moment to calm down, looking at the man, she said, "Call the cops? I’ll tell you, if I make a call now to get my husband over here, do you believe he’ll tear you in half?!"

The man pointed at her bag by the bed with his chin: "The phone’s in your bag."

Shannon glanced uneasily at her bag, trying to find an excuse: "I must admit, you were pretty diligent last night, served me well, so I’ll spare your life today, now get lost!"

The man picked up his suit jacket, pulled out a business card, flicked it over with two fingers, and it landed right in front of Shannon: "The contact number’s on there, you can have your husband come over to teach me a lesson, or keep it a secret... our business might even continue, see you next time."

"See you in hell!" Shannon picked up the business card, intending to throw it at the man’s retreating figure, but caught sight of an unusual name on the card out of the corner of her eye...
