CHAPTER 219: CHAPTER 219: THE ONE I LOVE MOST

Shannon Quinn was startled; after seeing who it was, she let out a sigh of relief. "What are you doing here?"

"Is the son asleep?"

Hearing Landon Sutton naturally say the word "son," Shannon Quinn frowned slightly. After closing the door, she looked at him and asked, "What does Mr. Sutton want?"

Landon Sutton didn’t answer but directly pulled her by the wrist toward the right side of the corridor.

Shannon Quinn naturally wouldn’t follow him obediently, "Let go of me! What exactly do you want to do?"

Landon Sutton turned back to her, "You’re not the only person living on this floor; are you sure you want to argue with me here? If someone sees you and me pulling at each other here, I don’t mind."

"I’ll walk by myself!"

Landon Sutton let go of her wrist and walked leisurely ahead, up to the third floor.

Shannon Quinn had never been to the third floor, and she thought it must be a vacant area with hardly anyone there. It wasn’t until she saw Landon Sutton take out a room card to open the door that she realized it was his room.

"If you have something to say, say it directly; don’t waste everyone’s time." Shannon Quinn wasn’t foolish enough to walk into the lion’s den.

Landon Sutton pushed open the door, made a gesture of invitation with his body sideways, and said, "Come in and talk."

Shannon Quinn stood still, and Landon Sutton then smiled and said, "What’s wrong? Worried I might eat you?"

Shannon Quinn gave him an unhappy glance, then walked in first with her arms crossed like a leader inspecting.

Landon Sutton turned on the light while he closed the door.

Shannon Quinn pretended to be calm but deliberately kept a safe distance from him.

"A couple of drinks?" Landon Sutton took a bottle of red wine and two goblets from the cabinet by the door and walked to the table by the window.

Shannon Quinn stood in the middle of the room, not intending to sit for long, just urging, "If Mr. Sutton has nothing to say, I’ll leave first."

"So eager to find him?"

Shannon Quinn was taken aback, not yet reacting to who the "he" in Landon Sutton’s words referred to.

She saw him get up, open the stereo button next to the computer desk, and a waltz song played.

Shannon Quinn looked at him puzzled, not knowing what trick he wanted to play.

Walking to her, he said politely with a smile, "This beautiful lady, may I invite you to dance?"

Looking at the hand extended to her waiting for a response, Shannon Quinn cursed him, "Crazy."

"Can dance with him but not me?"

Shannon Quinn then realized whom he meant by "him," raised a smile, looked up at him, and said, "Jealous?"

Landon Sutton kept a gentle smile, but his actions were no longer as graceful as when he invited her earlier.

He directly grabbed her hand and placed it on his shoulder, then wrapped her waist strongly, pulling her body closer to him, while grabbing her other hand and making a dance pose.

Shannon Quinn was completely unprepared, or rather she just didn’t want to dance with him.

He followed the rhythm of the music with standard dance steps and posture, while Shannon Quinn was entirely disordered from mind to action, being pushed and pulled by him, her steps were a mess.

With her high heels, she barely had time to adjust, being pushed backward by him, almost falling.

"Are you sick or what?" She tried to push him away with her left hand.

But Landon Sutton held her tightly and didn’t let go.

Without cooperation, a waltz couldn’t be graceful; she tripped several times and finally was pushed onto the bed behind by him.

She immediately tried to get up, but Landon Sutton pressed down, his gaze fixed on her displeased eyes, and said seriously, "I just love being jealous."

"Let go!"

"Don’t want to." Landon Sutton asked again, "How far have you gotten with him?"

Shannon Quinn suddenly smiled, somewhat charmingly.

"How far we’ve gone is none of your business; you say you’re jealous? Sorry, you don’t even have the right to be jealous!"

"Is that so?" Landon Sutton didn’t get angry but laughed instead.

"You said chasing whoever is your right, so choosing whoever is also my right; even if I’m with him, you have no reason to interfere!"

Landon Sutton let go of her, stood up, tidied his clothes, and laughed mockingly, "Such poor taste."

Shannon Quinn hurriedly stood up, adjusted the slipped strap, put on the high heels that had fallen by the bedside, and rushed to the door.

Landon Sutton didn’t stop her; seeing her open the door, half of her body already outside, he said back to her, "Such poor character!"

After running out, Shannon Quinn went straight to the bathroom, touched up her makeup in the mirror, tidied her somewhat messy hair, and returned to the hall to find something to eat.

Everyone called out the countdown numbers in unison, and the fireworks show started with the stroke of twelve.

Colorful sparks bloomed over the calm sea, reflected on the peaceful surface—a beautiful scenery.

Shannon Quinn wrapped the shawl around her, the late-night wind cold and biting.

Standing by her side, Liam Sterling heard Shannon Quinn sneeze and asked with concern, "Cold? Stand by me, I’ll block the wind for you."

Shannon Quinn smiled and waved her hand; seeing Liam Sterling wanting to take off his coat, she quickly said, "I’m going inside; it’s about time to rest."

"Sis, when did you post on Moments?" Sheila Yardley came over with her phone and asked Shannon Quinn, "Who’s this guy? Is he really my brother-in-law?"

In total confusion, Shannon Quinn looked at Sheila Yardley’s phone screen; it showed a post from five minutes ago on Moments: The most beautiful fireworks, and you, my favorite.

Below were two pictures: one of the splendid fireworks all over the sky, and the other a man’s back.

Others may not discern who the back view belongs to, but Shannon Quinn recognized it at once.

She frowned, puzzled about how this Moment got posted.

She suddenly remembered, "My phone is still on the table where I was eating!"

"Huh?" Sheila Yardley was somewhat unresponsive, watching Shannon Quinn’s hurried figure leave while looking at the picture of the male back on the phone, puzzledly muttering, "So is this really my brother-in-law?"

Arriving at the seat where she was eating earlier, Shannon Quinn found that the phone was gone.

If not for that Moment post, she might not even know where to look for her phone.

She searched around the hall but didn’t see Landon Sutton, so she went directly to the third floor.

Landon Sutton expected her to come looking, instructed the staff accordingly, allowing Shannon Quinn to get upstairs smoothly.

Shannon Quinn knocked on the door with her hand and shouted inside, "Open the door!"
