My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 224: Mediocre Clothing Quality
CHAPTER 224: CHAPTER 224: MEDIOCRE CLOTHING QUALITY
Leo proposed going to after-school classes to learn piano.
Shannon Quinn never forces her child’s interests, but since Leo brought it up himself, she supports him.
At first, she was puzzled as to why the child suddenly became studious, but later she found out it was because the little girl next door signed up.
The little girl is about the same age as Leo, and they are in the same kindergarten class. They usually play together in the park when they are free. It seems Leo is quite interested in the little girl, but after all, they are just kids, and children’s affections shouldn’t be speculated on with adult thinking.
At least it’s better for him to learn some skills than just staying home playing with toys.
However, it was hard on Shannon Quinn, as the after-school class is far away, and Catherine Yardley couldn’t take him, so Shannon Quinn had to drive him back and forth every day, even giving up her chances of sleeping in.
That day, after several days of rain and snow, the weather finally cleared up, but it was still just as cold.
Shannon Quinn stayed in the heated office, watching the video sent by Leo’s teacher on her phone.
It was a video of Leo playing the piano. She thought her son looked very handsome, and even his serious look mesmerized her as his mother.
The teacher also said the child was smart, learning much faster than ordinary children. He had only attended a few classes, yet he was already showing promising progress.
"Knock, knock—"
The knocking interrupted Shannon Quinn’s admiration of her son, shifting her gaze from the phone to the door, and she said, "Come in."
The assistant pushed the door open, leaned against the door smiling, and said, "Shannon, someone is looking for you."
"Who?"
"A handsome guy."
"The boss?"
The assistant shook her head quickly, "No, do you have time now?"
"Yes." Shannon Quinn stood up, ready to follow the assistant downstairs, but the assistant waved her hand and said, "No need to go down, the client is already up here."
Shannon Quinn got up, puzzled, and tidied up her clothes, preparing to meet them at the door.
However, as she saw the man the assistant had brought over, walking towards her, she suddenly had the urge to lock the door.
"Sir, this way."
Seeing Landon Sutton come over, Shannon Quinn, who originally intended to greet at the door, turned back to her desk, picked up a water glass, and pretended to drink calmly.
"Please come in, Director Quinn is inside. You can discuss the cooperation details with her."
Landon Sutton nodded and walked into Shannon Quinn’s office.
At first, he saw the woman sitting directly in front of him, seemingly ignoring his presence, then he started to look around at her workspace.
"Are you looking at the house?" Shannon Quinn couldn’t hold back and snapped at him.
Landon Sutton smiled and sat down on the sofa by the tea table on one side to help himself.
The assistant made the tea and brought it in, seeing the two of them not communicating at all. She glanced at Shannon Quinn, then at Landon Sutton, and said, "Sir, please have some tea first."
"Thank you."
"How about I give you a brief introduction to our company, so you have a more comprehensive understanding?"
"No need, it’s not the first time I’ve worked with Director Quinn. I trust her abilities."
The assistant finally understood, "Oh, so you are one of our director’s old clients."
"Wendy, you can leave us now. You don’t need to worry about this for now."
"Oh, alright, just call me if you need anything."
"Okay."
After the assistant left, Shannon Quinn got up and walked over to Landon Sutton. Her expression showed she wasn’t particularly welcoming of him and her tone didn’t hide her dislike: "What brings Boss Sutton here?"
"Have you been busy lately?" He picked up the pink cherry blossom cup on the tea table and toyed with it.
Shannon Quinn reached out to take her cup back, turned to place it on the nearby shelf, crossed her arms, looked at him, and replied, "I’m not busy unless you cause trouble for me."
"Then why didn’t you reply to my messages?"
"I didn’t see them."
"It seems your company isn’t lacking customers, treating clients so poorly."
"Landon Sutton, cut the act! If you have nothing to do, go entertain yourself and stop causing trouble for others."
Landon Sutton leaned back on the sofa, acting as if he were Shannon Quinn’s boss, half-lidded eyes glancing at her, and said, "It seems necessary to talk to your boss about employee management issues."
"What exactly do you want?!"
"What have I done? I’ve just come to place an order with Miss Quinn. After just a few words, Miss Quinn is treating me poorly. I’m also puzzled about what I’ve done to deserve such a reception or if perhaps... Miss Quinn is bringing personal feelings into the workplace?"
Shannon Quinn couldn’t argue with him, and it was indeed her mistake if it led to a dispute.
She took a deep breath to compose herself, shifted the cushion on the sofa, and sat down opposite him, giving a politely fake smile, and inquired, "Mr. Sutton, how would you like to cooperate? Share your thoughts."
He didn’t ramble but seriously started discussing work matters, yet Shannon Quinn still felt his intentions weren’t so straightforward.
"Alright, that’s about it. Discuss with your boss, then provide me with a proposal, and we will decide then."
Shannon Quinn smiled insincerely, nodding, "Alright, Boss Sutton, take care."
Landon Sutton walked to the door, paused to look back at her, and Shannon Quinn said, "Anything else to command, Boss Sutton?"
Landon Sutton’s gaze moved from her face down to her chest and casually said, "Your button is open."
Shannon Quinn quickly lowered her head to see the third button of her shirt undone, looking embarrassed, she reached to button it just as an annoying voice came from above, saying, "The quality of the shirt is mediocre, could even open with such a small chest."
"Get out!" Shannon Quinn hissed fiercely at him under her breath.
Landon Sutton suddenly smiled, leaned in slightly closer to her, and said, "Or is this Miss Quinn’s usual tactic to seduce clients?"
Shannon Quinn reached out to push him out the door and shouted towards the assistant’s office, "Wendy, see the guest out." Then she shut Landon Sutton outside the door.
It was like he and Sylvie Pierce had a coordinated plan; he left, and Sylvie came in next. She said she was attending a friend’s banquet and wanted Shannon Quinn to help design a dress.
She arrived just before lunch, and Sylvie suggested discussing over a meal at the restaurant opposite.
It wasn’t Shannon Quinn’s first time handling such a meal meeting, and she wanted to see if the two of them were in cahoots.
Sylvie Pierce gave the impression of being gentle and approachable, impossible to dislike.
During the meal, she also considered Shannon Quinn’s preferences, thoughtfully asking if there was anything she couldn’t eat.
Her voice was gentle, but not overly sweet, and she was polite to everyone. Shannon Quinn thought that if she were a man, she might like Sylvie Pierce as well.
