CHAPTER 243: CHAPTER 243: HANDSOME GUY

The next morning, when Shannon Quinn woke up, the morning light was gentle outside the window, and the birds were chirping amidst the fragrance of flowers.

She rubbed her eyes and sat up in bed, looked around, and then recalled last night’s events.

Not knowing what was going on in her mind, she immediately threw off the blanket to confirm if she was still wearing clothes. Seeing her pajamas still properly worn, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Then she realized how silly her actions were, glanced around sheepishly, and heard the sound of running water in the bathroom. Behind the frosted glass, she could faintly see the flesh-colored silhouette.

Her face turned red instantly, and she averted her gaze for a second, only to look back again.

Although it wasn’t clear, she could see the blurry shadow and vaguely see him moving as he showered.

The scene was so stimulating early in the morning, and she felt like a female rogue, staring without blinking.

It wasn’t until the water stopped that she snapped back to reality and quickly averted her gaze.

Soon, he came out of the bathroom, wearing a white robe, with his hair dripping tiny water droplets.

"Awake?"

"Yeah." Not daring to stare directly at such an exciting scene like just now, she pretended to look down and put on her slippers, not meeting his eyes, and then went straight into the toilet.

She then noticed the glass door wasn’t locked and could be pushed open easily.

"I’m using the toilet, don’t come in!"

Landon Sutton paused in his actions of drying his hair, looked at her, and said, "Relax, I don’t have that hobby."

When Shannon Quinn came out after freshening up, she saw him with his back to her, zipping his pants, his upper body still bare, not yet dressed.

She pretended to be indifferent, but her gaze was somewhat shy to face such a scene.

With just a casual glance, she noticed he really did have a great physique.

He looked slim in clothes, but muscular without, with perfect muscle lines that seemed very powerful and gave a sense of security.

He finished putting on his pants, glanced back at her, and casually picked up a shirt to put on. While dressing, he said to her, "Hurry up and get ready, after breakfast I’ll take you somewhere."

"Oh."

Shannon Quinn took out the clothes she planned to wear from the suitcase, but with him in the room, she felt embarrassed to change, so she chose to put on makeup first.

Landon Sutton probably noticed her shyness and said, "I’ll go downstairs and order breakfast. Change your clothes and come down directly."

"Okay."

In the daytime, staying alone in the room didn’t make her as scared, with people walking and talking outside now and then.

After dressing up and doing her makeup, she checked herself in the mirror, confirmed everything was fine, and then headed downstairs.

Downstairs, she saw an uncomfortable scene.

Landon Sutton was sitting at a small table for two, with breakfast already laid out on the table. The seat opposite him was empty, but a woman stood beside the table, seemingly chatting with him.

The woman had a good figure, her height seemed above 1.7 meters, wearing a crop top and ultra-short denim shorts, with those straight legs being slender and long.

The woman’s back was to her, so Shannon Quinn couldn’t see what she looked like, but flirting in front of her man, she couldn’t stand it.

She straightened her chest, walked over in high heels, sat directly across from Landon Sutton, looked at the smiling woman standing by the table, and asked Landon Sutton, "Honey, is she a friend of yours?"

The woman seemed surprised at this address and asked Landon Sutton, "You’re married?"

Landon Sutton didn’t expect Shannon Quinn to open with a "honey," which made his heart bloom, though he was also surprised.

"Honey, didn’t you tell her you got married? Are you still hoping for some romantic encounter?"

Landon Sutton smiled tolerantly at Shannon Quinn.

The woman laughed awkwardly and explained to Shannon Quinn, "Miss, you’re mistaken. I’m just having a casual chat."

"Casually chatting with someone else’s husband, that’s a bad habit you should change, sister."

The woman seemed a bit bitter but just said, "Enjoy your meal."

She turned and walked over to her group of girlfriends, vaguely heard saying, "No wonder I couldn’t charm him; he already has a wife."

As the woman left, Shannon Quinn’s face changed, and she glared at Landon Sutton, but said nothing, picking up a spoon to eat the porridge in front of her.

Landon, not one to miss the drama, said, "She is only twenty, you called her ’sister.’"

Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes, "She’s young, so go to her then. Anyway, we haven’t remarried yet. If you find true love, just leave, who cares!"

"She wanted to share the table, I said I was waiting for my girlfriend, so she stood by and chatted, wanting my contact info. I didn’t respond much, but with so many people, I couldn’t be rough with the girl, right?"

"You said you had a girlfriend, and she still wanted your contact. Does she have no shame?!"

Landon diverted, "You calling me ’honey’ was quite nice, say it again, let me hear?"

"Get lost!"

"Just now, that girl called me ’cute brother,’ she was quite adorable."

"How about I call her back to keep you company for your meal?!"

"You look pretty cute when you’re mad too."

Shannon Quinn almost wanted to pour the bowl of porridge over his head.

After breakfast, as Landon Sutton prepared to take her out, Shannon Quinn still pondered the knocking sound from last night, insisting on finding the staff to check the surveillance.

She probed the staff about any strange rumors about the inn, and after hearing Shannon’s experience, the staff said nothing like that had ever happened before.

They retrieved last night’s surveillance, adjusting it to when she roughly heard knocking.

First, they saw Landon Sutton knocking; since the footage had no sound, Shannon initially thought it was when he came to find her, wanting the staff to rewind it. But then she noticed something odd.

When Landon Sutton knocked, she opened the door, yet in the video, after knocking a few times, he directly returned to his room.

Shannon continued watching, fast-forwarding the footage. Shortly, he came out again, knocked on her door, and returned straightaway.

Suddenly realizing something, Shannon frowned and turned toward the man standing behind her.

Landon Sutton, unfazed, feigned ignorance and asked, "What’s wrong?"

"Why are you so boring?!"

He responded seriously, "That wasn’t me, it’s someone looking exactly like me. Or perhaps this Landon you see now may not be the Landon Sutton you know."

Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes, "Why don’t you write a novel?"

After figuring out the cause, Shannon apologized to the staff.

They probably thought she was out of her mind.

Last night, she was thankful Landon Sutton was by her side; now she’d rather strangle him.
