CHAPTER 251: CHAPTER 251: ALL THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF YOU

Landon Sutton poured himself a drink while addressing Shannon Quinn in dissatisfaction, "Talk after you’ve finished drinking."

Shannon Quinn picked up her glass, tilted her head back, and drained the liquid in one go, proudly turning the empty glass upside down in front of him, "You underestimated me!"

"Is this how you drink?"

Shannon Quinn reached out, took the bottle from him, and poured herself a large glass. Landon Sutton remarked, "With me, you can drink like this. But when I’m not around, be a bit more restrained."

Shannon Quinn drank a sip from the glass with both hands while only giving him a quick glance before turning her gaze to the endless sea.

At the moment, the setting sun dyed the sea a reddish-orange, complementing the waves with shimmer and glow.

Without much communication, the two of them sat quietly, enjoying the sea breeze and the scenery.

With her glass half empty, Shannon’s cheeks turned slightly red, her eyes somewhat hazy, looking both charming and innocent.

As they sat, she suddenly leaned over, resting her head against him, murmuring, "Do you think you’ll ever like someone else in the future?"

Landon Sutton looked down at her, "Why do you ask that?"

She pouted, "You rarely had the chance to interact with girls before, but now you’re discharged, you’ll meet all kinds of girls. Maybe one day you’ll meet one totally different from me, and realize she’s more your type."

"I don’t like a specific type, but all sorts of you."

Shannon Quinn was stunned, surprised yet satisfied with his response, she smiled and glanced at him, saying, "Charmer."

"I don’t know how to eliminate the insecurities in your heart; maybe only time will testify."

Regarding the future, no one can predict. Shannon Quinn chose not to speculate, believing that cherishing present happiness is most important.

Landon Sutton watched her lips, red against the glass, as the dark red liquid slowly disappeared. As she lowered the glass, a thin layer of liquid clung to her lips, which she naturally licked off with her tongue.

Seeing this, Landon Sutton’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly. He placed his glass aside, leaned towards her, slowly moving closer.

Shannon Quinn was startled, glancing at him. As he approached, she instinctively retreated slightly. Landon Sutton circled her waist with his arm, gently laying her flat on the soft sand.

Though her gaze seemed evasive and she made no response, she did not resist.

The kiss, wine-laden, descended. Perhaps under the influence of alcohol, her eyes became even more enchanting. With his soft kiss, she slowly closed her eyes, her glass tipping over on the beach, wine spilled out before finishing.

She reached out to embrace him, hesitantly responding, igniting the fire that Landon had restrained.

Cradling her around the waist, he headed towards the villa along the beach.

In the bedroom’s round bed, he swept away the white gauze curtains somewhat roughly and laid her on the bed.

Uncertain if she was slightly drunk, she appeared even more delicate and alluring.

The silky dress slipped from the bed and scattered on the carpet, amidst the slightly hurried breathing, the canopy swayed gently.

The afterglow of sunset added another touch of romance.

When Shannon Quinn woke up, the sky was dark, the room illuminated, accompanied by the faint noise of paper shuffling.

Turning her head, she saw Landon Sutton sitting by the desk not far away, leafing through a stack of files.

"Awake?" he asked, his voice hoarse.

Shannon Quinn frowned, recalling what happened before she slept, and appeared somewhat displeased, choosing not to answer him and turned away, facing the other direction.

Putting down his files, Landon Sutton walked over to the bed, chuckling softly, "Was it so uncomfortable?"

"Try it yourself!"

"Next time, I’ll be gentler. Once awake, eat something then sleep again."

Even if angry, she couldn’t deny herself; food should still be eaten.

Getting up felt like a car accident; recalling the first time with him and wondering if medicine played a role, it wasn’t this troublesome then.

Shannon Quinn ate while playing on her phone, opening WeChat and seeing a message from Sylvie Pierce. She pondered and asked Landon Sutton seated across, "Did Sylvie Pierce message you?"

Landon Sutton was puzzled, "What message?"

"Her brother’s birthday is tomorrow; she invited me to the party. Didn’t you get an invite?"

Landon Sutton shook his head, "Told you, we’re not close."

Feeling something was off, Shannon expected Sylvie to invite Landon, not herself. Was she overthinking, or did Sylvie have another plan?

"So, should I go or not?"

"Want to go?" he asked teasingly, seemingly still concerned about her blind date with Shawn Pierce.

After a few seconds, Shannon replied, "Shall we go together?"

Landon seemed to agree, "Alright."

The real reason Shannon wanted to go was to let Sylvie know she was with Landon Sutton now.

Due to the party, the trip ended early.

They left the villa at noon the next day and headed straight to Sylvie’s home.

It was nearly six in the afternoon when they arrived, with guests gradually appearing.

Shawn Pierce welcomed them at the door, seemingly surprised Shannon and Landon showed up, "Why are you here?"

Landon Sutton sneered, "What? We’re not welcome?"

"No, no. It’s just I didn’t plan a gathering; Shirley insisted it should be lively, and never mentioned inviting you. I thought you weren’t locally based, so didn’t inform you. But since you’re here, welcome. Make yourselves comfortable inside."

Landon Sutton nodded with a smile, holding Shannon Quinn as they walked into the villa.

By the entrance, they met Sylvie Pierce, who seemed genuinely shocked seeing Shannon and Landon hand in hand. Her smile faltered but she quickly concealed her emotions and greeted them.

"Shannon, you’re here? I was about to ask how Vincent came along with you."

Shannon Quinn smiled, glanced at Landon Sutton, and replied, "He worries about me."

Sylvie dryly smiled at Landon Sutton and asked Shannon, "Have you two been together lately? I saw you traveled recently, was it with Vincent?"

Shannon nodded, "Yes, he noticed me homebound after my injury, so he thought it’d be nice to travel since the weather improved."
