My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 335: Not Hungry Next Week
CHAPTER 335: CHAPTER 335: NOT HUNGRY NEXT WEEK
Meitu Yaa: Whimpering, President Sutton, don’t be so harsh, okay?
Meitu Yaa: I’m here to learn because I don’t know how to.
Meitu Yaa: Are you free tomorrow, President Sutton? I’d like to invite you to dinner alone and ask you about some work-related matters.
Stinky Fish: No time.
Meitu Yaa: Anytime you’re available this week works for me.
Stinky Fish: Not free this week.
Meitu Yaa: What about next week?
Stinky Fish: Not hungry next week.
Seeing this, Shannon Quinn laughed in anger.
When chatting with her, Landon Sutton would sometimes send a cute little emoji, but who would’ve thought chat between straight men could be so blunt.
Just as she finished flipping through these chat records, another message from Meitu Yaa popped up: President Sutton, are you home?
Shannon Quinn huffed angrily at Landon Sutton, "What’s up with this woman? She knows you’re married yet tries to flirt with you. She’s crazy!"
Landon Sutton glanced at her, "Why are you yelling at me?"
Shannon Quinn snorted, nearly resorting to sending a voice message to curse.
Landon Sutton: "One word from you and she won’t be at the company tomorrow."
Shannon Quinn immediately said, "Fire her!"
Then she recalled the friendship between her mom and Sharon Griffin’s mom, "Forget it, no matter how much she bounces around, you still love me, let it drive her crazy!"
Landon Sutton: "I’m afraid you’ll drive yourself crazy first."
Shannon Quinn looked at the chat records again, feeling upset though she was happy in her heart: "From now on, you don’t need to respond to her anymore, don’t give her any face."
Landon Sutton: "Why not just delete her."
Shannon Quinn said, "Deleting and ignoring are two different things, just do what I say, don’t pay attention to her, let’s see what else she can pull."
Next day, Sharon Griffin still sent morning and afternoon greetings, even though Landon Sutton did not reply, she continued sending messages to herself.
Unable to watch anymore, Shannon Quinn pressed the talk button and said on the other end, "Sharon, are you breaking up with Jett again?"
Meitu Yaa: Shannon? Why is it you?
Shannon Quinn continued with voice messages: "My husband is cooking and happened to see your messages, quite a few, don’t you have work to do?"
Meitu Yaa: Shannon, don’t misunderstand, I’ve had a lot on my mind these days and just wanted someone to confide in.
Shannon Quinn: "Confiding things like trivial matters to someone else’s husband isn’t quite appropriate, right?
Meitu Yaa: Sorry Shannon, I’ll pay more attention in the future.
Shannon Quinn: "Your mom also asked us to take care of you, but my husband really cherishes talent and despises those who rely on connections to get ahead. So even though I’ve spoken highly of you to him, he insists on using proper evaluation standards to determine whether you can be confirmed at that time."
Meitu Yaa: I know President Sutton has always been a good, upright boss, I admire him for that, and I’ll certainly work hard.
Shannon Quinn: "But I just asked him, and he said given your current work condition and skill level, getting confirmed might be difficult. He even asked if you really graduated from Kingsbridge? Has Kingsbridge’s standards dropped so low now?"
Meitu Yaa: Apologies Shannon, my personal relationship issues have affected my work recently, I’ll do my best to adjust.
Shannon Quinn: "I also believe you can do it, initially I asked you to add my husband on WeChat hoping he could provide help from a professional standpoint at work, not be your confidant, you know he’s busy managing such a big company and taking care of family at home, he doesn’t have time for another unrelated woman, he even thinks you’re a bit noisy."
Shannon Quinn continued, "So I thought it’s unnecessary to keep WeChat, I confirmed that concerning work-related matters, asking your department supervisor is the same, so I won’t let him offer direct help anymore, that’s all, I wish you success in getting confirmed."
Meitu Yaa: Wuwu, Shannon, can we keep the WeChat and not delete it?
Shannon Quinn thought to herself, keeping it to annoy herself? No chance!
She really didn’t have the heart to constantly deal with a scheming sweet-talker!
Initially, she sincerely wanted to help Sharon Griffin, but didn’t expect Sharon would want to undermine her.
Did she really think Shannon was a pushover with no temper?
She couldn’t stomach sacrificing herself for someone else’s disgust.
Though she and Landon Sutton weren’t quite an old married couple, their relationship was solid enough, could it really be disrupted by a two-faced clown?
Shannon Quinn took her phone, returned to the kitchen, and placed it back in Landon Sutton’s pants pocket: "I deleted her."
Landon Sutton glanced at her: "Hmm."
Shannon Quinn: "Ugh, failed to recognize someone, what a situation."
Landon Sutton: "That’s why I told you to mind your own business, focus on yourself first and then spare some thought for me."
Shannon Quinn hugged him from behind, pressing her face against his back: "Will you cheat on me?"
Landon Sutton laughed as he stir-fried the vegetables, "I will."
Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes at the back of his head, pinched his waist fiercely, "You dare!"
Landon Sutton: "From yesterday’s you to today’s you."
Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes again, her voice filled with doubt, "Since when did you become such a smooth talker?"
Landon Sutton: "Are you indirectly complimenting my oral skills?"
Shannon Quinn: "Pervert! I’m not playing with you anymore."
She turned to the living room to check on Leo, who was doing his homework, Leo put down his pencil, looked at her standing and reached out, his little hand touched Shannon Quinn’s slightly rounded belly, "Mom, when will my sister be able to play with me?"
Shannon Quinn: "When you start primary school."
Leo: "Huh? That’s still a long time."
Shannon Quinn: "Will you share your favorite toys with your sister?"
Leo: "I’ll play with her together!"
Shannon Quinn nodded in satisfaction, feeling Leo had developed the understanding of being an older brother.
Except when he really becomes a brother, he’ll realize: Men and their words, all liars.
No matter old men or little men!
Susan Wilde had moved into her new home for three days now, almost everything necessary was in place.
The rented apartment had two bedrooms and a living room, fully furnished with appliances, enough for the two sisters to live in.
In these last few days, Susan Wilde only bought some daily necessities and put some pot plants on the balcony.
Compared to the high-rise condo with an elevator, she felt these were much safer than the villa you could climb over the fence to enter.
Iris was tidying up things over there, saying after Julian Yardley finishes his work at school, they’d come over together in a couple of days.
She has already thought of an excuse, if Iris asks why she moved out, she’ll say Shawn Rhodes travels a lot, when he’s away she lives here, when he comes back she goes back there.
