CHAPTER 344: CHAPTER 344: WHO’S FATED WITH YOU?

The life of island residents is carefree and leisurely.

Even if you stay here without going anywhere, simply living in a guesthouse for a while, Shannon Quinn finds it enjoyable.

There’s no noise or glitz of big cities, no chasing after fame and fortune, just what’s in front of you.

From the spacious balcony of the accommodation, you can see the blue bay.

The afternoon sunlight isn’t harsh, and the sea breeze blows gently, making people feel a bit lazy.

Shannon Quinn lies on the chair on the balcony, occasionally looking at the sea view, and sometimes glancing at the handsome man working on his laptop next to her.

Not to exaggerate, she thinks her husband looks better with each glance.

When he’s working or reading, he’ll wear his glasses, looking refined, like a celibate male protagonist straight out of a comic book.

No wonder so many young girls have a crush on him.

When she was staring at him, he suddenly looked up and met her gaze. Shannon Quinn did not evade and instead smiled with twinkling eyes.

Landon Sutton: "Not asleep? Go inside and bring me the file bag on the table."

Shannon Quinn put away her smile, sat up, and muttered while searching for her slippers: "Always ordering me around."

Landon Sutton: "If you have nothing else to do, it would be great if you could buy me a cup of coffee downstairs."

Shannon Quinn tossed the file bag onto his desk: "Going rate for errands!"

Landon Sutton chuckled, took out a hundred-dollar bill from his wallet and handed it to her: "The rest is yours."

Shannon Quinn: "You do know this place is a tourist spot, right?"

Landon Sutton pulled out another hundred for her.

Shannon Quinn: "Of course President Sutton drinks only the best coffee from the shop!"

Landon Sutton glared at her and handed over another bill: "One more word, and I’ll go myself."

Shannon Quinn laughed, grabbed the money from his hand, and happily went downstairs.

There’s a café on the first floor of the guesthouse, so Landon Sutton wasn’t worried about Shannon Quinn getting lost or anything.

Shannon Quinn arrived at the café, looked at the menu, noting that the cheapest was over thirty per cup, but feeling guilty about spending Landon Sutton’s three hundred-dollar bills, she told the staff: "I’ll take this fifty-eight one. I’ll pay first and come back to pick it up."

The staff recommended: "Miss, our signature coffee is on a twenty percent discount today, want to add a cup?"

Shannon Quinn looked up at the advertisement poster overhead, a cup costing a hundred and fifty, after discount still over a hundred: "No need, just one person’s drink."

"Alright, please pay over there, miss."

After paying, Shannon Quinn ran over to the dessert shop next door, bought some freshly baked snacks, and ordered a large mango juice.

After paying, the three hundred dollars given by Landon Sutton had less than ten remaining. She still needed to keep some for herself.

Back at the café to pick up the coffee, she happened to see a familiar person.

Not very familiar, just someone she knew.

Seth Fairchild didn’t seem surprised when he saw her and even smiled at her.

Shannon Quinn didn’t have a good impression of Seth Fairchild, especially with the unclear relationship he had with June Yardley.

With the two of them together, Shannon Quinn’s mind could only think of one idiom: partners in crime.

As she reached out to take the coffee, Seth Fairchild said again: "Fancy seeing you here, wouldn’t you say it’s fate for the two of us?"

Shannon Quinn murmured with displeasure: "Who’s fated with you?"

She took the packaged bag from the staff, not wanting much interaction with Seth Fairchild, and turned to leave.

Outside the shop, she couldn’t resist looking back, through the glass door, seemingly not seeing June Yardley.

Could it be June Yardley didn’t come with him?

Shannon Quinn carried the items upstairs, placing the coffee next to Landon Sutton.

Landon Sutton first glanced at the coffee, then saw the other bag with seven or eight dessert boxes in her hand, asking: "Was this coffee complimentary?"

Shannon Quinn grumbled: "You look good, so you’re treated to free drinks."

Landon Sutton took out the receipt from the bag, looked at it, and said: "I gave you three hundred dollars, and this is what you buy for me?"

Shannon Quinn, while unpacking her dessert bag, said: "A cup of coffee costs a few dozen bucks, it’s pricey."

Landon Sutton: "What about all those snacks?"

Shannon Quinn: "Promotional offer, buy coffee, get free snacks."

Landon Sutton certainly didn’t believe Shannon Quinn’s nonsense and couldn’t be bothered to argue with her.

Shannon Quinn immediately changed the topic: "Guess who I saw downstairs just now."

Landon Sutton glanced at her, clearly not very interested in the person she met.

He guessed it might be some celebrity, specifically a male star.

But Shannon Quinn said: "I saw Seth Fairchild, he was also buying coffee just now."

Landon Sutton: "Seth Fairchild?"

Shannon Quinn nodded: "Would you say it’s such a coincidence? There are so many sights, many guesthouses on the island, how come he’s staying at the same place as us?"

Landon Sutton: "Was he alone?"

Shannon Quinn shook her head: "I don’t know. I only saw him alone, but maybe he just came downstairs to buy something. June Yardley might be upstairs."

Landon Sutton bowed his head, slightly lost in thought. Shannon Quinn added: "I think we better be cautious, we shouldn’t harm others, but we must not be defenseless. Those two sisters from the Yardley Family are the same way, capable of anything, with Claire Yardley now in jail, I don’t think June Yardley will let it go so easily."

Landon Sutton: "Even if she won’t stop, she can’t really stir up any significant trouble, no need to worry, I’m on top of it."

Having gone through the terrifying ordeal last time, Landon Sutton wouldn’t let the same tragedy happen again.

The next day, Shannon Quinn signed up for a travel tour to visit a nearby village and experience local customs.

Boarding the bus for the tour, Shannon Quinn thought the participants would mostly be middle-aged folks, like uncles, aunts, grandpas, and grandmas. Surprisingly, there were quite a lot of young people, mostly young couples, with a few groups of older ladies.

But what Shannon Quinn didn’t expect was, Seth Fairchild also boarded this bus.

He was alone, so apparently, he didn’t bring June Yardley.

However, coming to such a place alone, Shannon Quinn felt even more suspicious, thinking Seth Fairchild must be here for them.

As Seth Fairchild passed them, he smiled at Landon Sutton, then sat behind them.

The bus drove steadily, with a unique roadside view, but Shannon Quinn still couldn’t resist the sleepiness and leaned on Landon Sutton’s shoulder, falling asleep halfway.

Once the bus stopped, everyone got off at the coast, seemingly at a pier, appearing they had to take a boat to reach the destination.

Shannon Quinn leaned against the pier railing, letting Landon Sutton take several photos of her. After deleting and selecting, there weren’t many left. She couldn’t help but complain about his photography skills: "Why don’t you squat down a bit when taking the picture? It makes me look short."

Landon Sutton: "Why don’t you grow a bit taller yourself? That way the photos won’t make you look short."

Shannon Quinn muttering while deleting photos on her phone: "I don’t want to talk to you."
