CHAPTER 354: CHAPTER 354: GIVE HIM SOME TIME

Landon Sutton did not see Shannon Quinn, his gaze didn’t even glance her way.

He simply walked up to Joel Bellamy, expressionless, yet naturally reached out to take the straw hat Joel offered, lowered his head, and spoke with Joel.

Though she knew he now had none of his past memories, seeing this scene, Shannon Quinn still felt a little uncomfortable.

She took a deep breath, stepped forward and approached, walking to Landon Sutton’s back and softly called: "Hubby."

Landon Sutton turned around, looking at Shannon Quinn, his gaze appeared somewhat puzzled, the depths of his eyes revealed no emotional fluctuations.

The icy-cold gaze made Shannon Quinn’s scalp tingle.

Joel immediately held onto Landon Sutton’s arm and asked him, "Brother, this woman insists she is your wife. Do you know her?"

Landon Sutton seemed not to hear Joel’s words; he just stared at Shannon Quinn, only after a long time did he lowly say: "I seem to have seen you before."

Shannon Quinn’s eyes reddened as she looked at him: "My name is Shannon Quinn."

Landon Sutton’s brows slightly furrowed, feeling unfamiliar with this name.

Joel hurriedly interjected, saying: "She is a widow from our village, her husband died not long ago, her mind became a bit abnormal, she claims everyone she sees is her husband."

Shannon Quinn looked at Joel in astonishment, not expecting her to distort Landon Sutton’s perception.

"My husband hasn’t died, and I’m perfectly normal, Nate, I’m not lying to you." Shannon Quinn looked down at her slightly bulging stomach and said to him: "Nate, look, this is our child, you said you liked daughters, you always hoped I would give birth to a girl, do you remember? We..."

Before Shannon Quinn could finish, Joel hastily said: "His name is not Nate, he is called Hayden Bellamy, I know you are also a pitiful woman, but you can’t take advantage of my brother’s unclear memory to blur the truth!"

Shannon Quinn: "Miss, I’m grateful that you saved him, but it doesn’t mean I will give him up to you."

Joel: "Fine, if my brother is willing to go with you, I won’t stop you, let’s see what this delusional madwoman really wants to do!"

Shannon Quinn raised her head and looked at Landon Sutton, her confidence plummeted when she met his cold and strange gaze.

She tentatively reached out her hand in front of Landon Sutton, her fingertips trembling slightly, her voice too: "Shall we go home?"

Landon Sutton’s gaze lowered, landing on that hand.

The hand was slender and fair, slightly skeletal.

He didn’t immediately take this hand.

Hesitation, indifference, unfamiliarity...

As if this really was their first meeting.

Seeing this, Joel stepped forward, standing in front of Landon Sutton, saying to Shannon Quinn: "See, my brother doesn’t know you at all, stop directing and acting here, just leave already! Don’t disturb our lives, my brother needs a good rest!"

With that, Joel pulled Landon Sutton towards the house, holding onto his arm, and he didn’t resist.

Joel cheerfully looked up and asked him: "Brother, what are we having for lunch today?"

Landon Sutton didn’t answer, nor did he look back at Shannon Quinn.

Shannon Quinn’s hand was still frozen in mid-air, the sea breeze seemed a bit chilly, causing her hand to tremble incessantly.

Simon Rhodes walked over: "Vincent, he..."

Shannon Quinn lowered her eyes: "Maybe he just needs some time..."

Ronan Rhodes: "I knew she wasn’t a good sort, perhaps we should take Master Nate back first."

Shannon Quinn: "I want to stay here for now, find a chance to talk to Vincent about our past, maybe he’ll remember."

Ronan Rhodes looked somewhat disdainfully at the surrounding environment and said: "Sister-in-law, Master Nate with his tough skin might manage here, but you with your big belly better not. I don’t see that girl being honest; if soft measures don’t work, we go hard, just tie Master Nate up and take him back."

Shannon Quinn: "No need, I believe he will remember."

She could imagine Landon Sutton’s heart at this moment; he was blank to everyone and everything. Forcing him back might only cause him to resist and leave an unpleasant shadow, possibly even hindering his memory recovery.

She wanted to try to help him regain his past memories, just like the initial intention she had when she recorded that love journal.

Shannon Quinn sighed lightly, despondently turning away.

Seeing the person she longed for day and night right in front of her, yet unable to even give each other a hug.

This side of the hill had only Joel and her family; to find a place to stay, she had to return to the previous small village.

Simon Rhodes found a relatively well-off family, negotiated the price, and arranged for Shannon Quinn to stay there.

Shannon Quinn: "Mr. Rhodes, I can stay here myself, you go back and help me look after Leo."

Simon Rhodes nodded with reassurance: "I’ll have Ronan and the others stay here, if you need anything, just find Ronan."

Before Shannon Quinn could answer, Ronan grabbed the conversation: "Don’t worry, brother, the affair between sister-in-law and Master Nate is on me!"

Shannon Quinn was unfamiliar with the people in the village; in a remote and strange place, having someone stay with her naturally gave her peace of mind, so she didn’t drive Ronan away, just let him leave one or two brothers, and the rest returned with Simon Rhodes.

Early the next morning, Shannon Quinn got up, tidied up briefly, and slowly walked alone towards the hillside.

She wasn’t in a hurry, just treating it as a morning walk.

Standing at a high point, she gazed distantly at the white house with red tiles in front of her.

A pair of middle-aged men and women came out of the house, headed straight to the fishing boat ashore, carrying large bags, seemingly going away for a while before returning.

Joel waved goodbye to her parents at the shore, watched the boat leave, then excitedly ran back into the house.

Shannon Quinn knew now was not the time for petty tempers, she took a deep breath, perked herself up, and continued walking.

She didn’t enter the house directly but waited on a stone by the shore, from where she could see people entering and leaving the house.

The weather was quite nice today, with soft morning light and a slightly cool sea breeze, creating a pleasant comfort.

Seeing Joel come out, Shannon Quinn hid to the side of the large stone; if Joel saw her, meeting with Landon Sutton might become difficult.

Joel carried a food basket and went to the hill behind the house to pick vegetables. Watching Joel walk far away, Shannon Quinn stepped out, tentatively walked two steps in the direction of the house.

From afar, she saw the wooden door of the house being pushed open from the inside, and Landon Sutton came out.

A simple, loose-fitting white T-shirt, a pair of black casual pants, the pants appeared to have been washed many times, their color slightly faded.

Though his clothes seemed cheap, on him they looked fresh and handsome, imposing and extraordinary.

As soon as he turned his head, he saw Shannon Quinn, and the moment their eyes met, Shannon Quinn’s steps halted, she stood there dumbfounded, staring at him.

Watching him stride directly towards her...
