My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 358: Blockhead
CHAPTER 358: CHAPTER 358: BLOCKHEAD
Shannon Quinn blushed with some embarrassment; she didn’t expect that even after being married for so long, she could still feel shy under his gaze.
From behind, the sound of a wooden door opening was heard. Ronan Rhodes walked out of the room undoing his belt, his hair messy and his eyes barely open, eager to make a quick trip to the outside toilet.
Seeing the two standing under the eaves, Ronan paused, widened his eyes to see clearly, but became even more puzzled: "Master Nate? What are you doing here so early in the morning with my wife? You may not need sleep, but she does."
Shannon Quinn shot him a look, signaling him to quickly walk away.
Landon Sutton looked at Ronan with an expressionless, calm gaze.
As Ronan headed towards the toilet, he grumbled: "I say, Master Nate, if you’ve remembered, then stop messing around here and take my wife back. Do you think this place is fit for people to live in? The bed is hard as a rock, and to go to the toilet, you have to walk from the first ring to the fifth ring; I’m fully awake from my drowsiness."
Luckily, Ronan was in urgent need to relieve himself, otherwise, he would have lingered outside grumbling.
Once Ronan had entered the toilet, Landon Sutton asked Shannon Quinn, "Who is he?"
Shannon Quinn chuckled dryly: "How do I put it? He used to be your little follower, your buddy."
Landon Sutton immediately replied: "He looks a bit slow-witted."
Shannon Quinn was amused and teased, "You used to be slow-witted too, so naturally, your buddy would be the same."
Landon Sutton countered: "Really?"
Shannon Quinn personally cooked breakfast, inviting Landon Sutton to join them for breakfast, naturally not forgetting Ronan and his other buddies.
Buns were steamed.
Landon Sutton ate first.
He paused after taking a bite but didn’t say anything, continuing to chew.
Ronan watched Landon Sutton’s tasting process, and couldn’t help but inquisitively inspect the bun in his hand, curiously asking Landon Sutton, "Master Nate, does it taste good?"
Landon Sutton didn’t speak, just took another bite.
It counted as a sign of approval for Shannon Quinn’s cooking, and Shannon smiled gleefully at him.
Seeing this, Ronan and his buddies exchanged glances and he took the lead in taking a bite, chewed twice, found it difficult to swallow, and then spat it out, giving Landon Sutton a thumbs-up: "Master Nate! True love! You and she are definitely true love!"
Shannon Quinn immediately frowned, looking at Ronan’s reaction, and asked: "What’s wrong? It’s not good?"
Ronan awkwardly laughed, unable to directly say it: "As long as Master Nate finds it good!"
Shannon took one herself, tasted it, couldn’t quite define the flavor, but it wasn’t as expected.
She spat the bun in her mouth into her hand and grabbed the bun from Landon Sutton’s hand: "Stop eating, are you really that stupid?"
Ronan smiled sheepishly and comforted: "It’s probably because of the high altitude around here, making it hard to cook thoroughly. Sister-in-law, don’t be discouraged, at least Master Nate seemed to like it."
Shannon knew that Landon Sutton didn’t actually like it, he was just too embarrassed to say anything.
She originally wanted to take advantage of his memory loss regarding her past cooking skills to impress him, but ended up embarrassing herself again.
In the end, Ronan cooked a bowl of noodles; they were average in taste but edible.
With a hungry stomach, Shannon almost finished her bowl, but when she went to check on Landon Sutton, she found he wasn’t as polite as before, with his bowl of noodles nearly untouched.
His silent demeanor seemed to contemplate how these people could manage daily life with their cooking skills.
Ronan automatically cleaned up the dishes, giving them some couple time.
Landon Sutton wiped his mouth with a napkin and asked Shannon Quinn: "Do you have any plans for this morning?"
Shannon Quinn nodded: "I have to go to the village entrance to get a package—it has our marriage certificate and some old photos. I had my brother send them over, so you can take a look."
Landon Sutton paused, as Ronan came over to wipe the table, and said: "Let him get it."
Ronan’s hand paused on the table, and he looked at Landon Sutton, saying, "I say, Master Nate, you’ve forgotten everything, except how to order me around, right?"
Shannon Quinn chuckled and said: "I’ll go myself, it’s not far, just a little walk."
Landon Sutton: "I’ll go with you."
Shannon Quinn bit her lip, carefully questioning him: "Joel Bellamy... she..."
Landon Sutton: "I will explain to her when I return."
Shannon Quinn nodded, thinking he originally belonged to her, so she needn’t feel guilty towards Joel Bellamy.
The young girl was just being inconsiderate.
The two of them walked to the village entrance, and on the way, Shannon Quinn shared some past stories with him.
Despite the remote area, the scenery was quite nice. Tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city, staying in a small village like this for a while wasn’t a bad option.
"Tired? Want to take a break?" Landon Sutton kept asking her this question along the way.
Shannon Quinn shook her head: "I’m not that delicate, this distance is nothing."
Landon Sutton glanced at her belly: "How many months?"
Shannon Quinn: "Over six months."
Landon Sutton fell silent.
They arrived at the pickup point and found their package.
The two of them found a spot on the beach by the sea to sit, Shannon Quinn opened the package, and the first thing she saw was a small red booklet. She reached out and took it, smiling lightly: "This is our marriage certificate."
Landon Sutton reached out to take it, opened it to look, and saw that the photo inside was indeed of the two of them.
But then he thought of Joel Bellamy’s warned look and her words, saying these things could be faked.
Joel Bellamy mentioned that in the city, Shannon Quinn had connections, and these things were coincidentally sent from outside.
Landon Sutton held a skeptical attitude, but the affection he felt towards Shannon Quinn seemed to emanate from deep within.
Every time he saw her smile, he felt as if something filled his heart to the brim.
He wanted to see her, and that was his most genuine thought and indisputable truth.
But he didn’t know if he was simply charmed by her beauty, because as an observer, Shannon Quinn, in appearance and aura, was more attractive than Joel Bellamy.
He feared that he was now drawn to Shannon Quinn’s virtues, yet in the past, he truly loved Joel Bellamy.
Looking at those photos, even if he couldn’t remember, he could sense the happiness and sweetness between the two people in the pictures.
He didn’t even want to believe that a woman like Shannon Quinn would deceive him.
The balance in his heart seemed to tilt significantly towards Shannon Quinn.
But at present, he still wouldn’t make any decisions when he was uncertain about everything.
Shannon Quinn was in no rush to have him follow her back but instead spoke sweetly and patiently to him about the scenes and stories in the photos.
Recollecting those past moments, the smile that spread across her face was genuinely indisputable.
Beneath the daylight and waves, he was captivated not by the scenery, but solely by her smile.
