My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 361: What Doesn’t Belong to You
CHAPTER 361: CHAPTER 361: WHAT DOESN’T BELONG TO YOU
If you want to go to the village, you’ll pass by Shannon Quinn’s place. Maybe you can see her.
Joel Bellamy only knows that Shannon Quinn lives in the village, but doesn’t know where exactly.
When they crossed the hill and passed in front of Shannon Quinn’s house, Landon Sutton looked up towards the second floor, but didn’t see anyone on the balcony.
Could she be napping?
Joel Bellamy noticed his gaze and enthusiastically introduced, "This has been our old neighbor, the family has lived here for decades. There’s a brother who used to be my classmate, but he excelled in studies while I lagged behind. I dropped out after middle school, and now this brother is attending college in the city."
Landon Sutton nodded, not particularly curious about who lived here before.
Without staying, he followed Joel Bellamy, who continued to share interesting stories from her childhood in these places. However, Landon Sutton listened absentmindedly.
He just kept thinking about that day when he and Shannon Quinn went to pick up a package and walked this path.
He came out just wanting to see Shannon Quinn. Having passed by her house, he lost interest in continuing, and shortly after, said he wanted to go back.
On the way back, he found an excuse, saying he was thirsty, and while Joel Bellamy went to borrow water from a villager’s house, he sent a message to Shannon Quinn.
When he passed by the house again, he saw Shannon Quinn standing by the balcony on the second floor.
Seeing her made his heart feel content.
Shannon Quinn stood upstairs, looked him in the eye and barely managed a smile, but as she saw him walk away with Joel Bellamy, the smile disappeared from her face.
Could it be that his alleged busyness these days was because he was accompanying this girl?
Perhaps Ronan Rhodes was right, she should have tied him up and taken him back first.
After passing the house, even Joel Bellamy’s smile faded as she turned to Landon Sutton, "Brother, you saw that, didn’t you?"
Landon Sutton was puzzled, "Hmm?"
Joel Bellamy: "You knew she lived here, didn’t you?"
Landon Sutton finally realized what Joel Bellamy meant, didn’t lie, and nodded, "Yes."
Joel Bellamy smiled, "You miss her?"
Landon Sutton internally answered "yes," but worried about hurting Joel Bellamy, he thought for a moment before saying, "I feel like I knew her in a past life, although I have no memory of her. But being with her feels comfortable."
Joel Bellamy didn’t speak, but pondered internally whether truly loving someone makes you feel such a spiritual connection.
She felt somewhat deflated, unsure of whether to continue fabricating lies.
Yet, she was reluctant to let him go so easily.
She saved him, his life belongs to her.
No matter what ties bind them in past or present, should they not end?
Joel Bellamy, feigning anger, walked ahead and stated, "If you like her, you should stay with her. But when your memory returns, I hope you won’t regret it."
Landon Sutton followed her at an unhurried pace, and upon reaching a higher point on the hill, he silently glanced back. That house appeared tiny in the distance, impossible to discern any people.
After returning, they each went back to their own rooms.
Shortly after, Joel Bellamy quietly emerged from her room, took a basket from the living room, and went outside.
Not to pick vegetables, but directly crossed the hill and arrived downstairs at Shannon Quinn’s house.
"What are you here for?"
Shannon Quinn was taking a nap on a chair upstairs when she heard Ronan Rhodes’ unfriendly voice, waking up to investigate.
Joel Bellamy declared her intention, "I’m looking for that woman."
Ronan Rhodes said, "Which woman? Show some respect, don’t think just because you’re a woman I’ll..."
"Let her come up," Shannon Quinn called from upstairs.
Ronan Rhodes cast Joel Bellamy two warning glances before letting her up.
Although Shannon Quinn didn’t like Joel Bellamy, she treated her courteously, poured a cup of tea for Joel Bellamy from an empty cup nearby.
Joel Bellamy looked at the gentle, elegant Shannon Quinn, whose beauty and grace were hard to ignore.
The once aggressive Joel Bellamy suddenly felt inferior.
She took the tea Shannon Quinn handed over and drank it in one gulp.
Shannon Quinn filled the cup again and asked, "What can I do for you, Miss Bellamy?"
Joel Bellamy took another sip of tea and said, "I hope you leave here soon."
Shannon Quinn smiled and asked, confused, "Why?"
Joel Bellamy responded bluntly, "You’re disrupting my life!"
Shannon Quinn replied, "That’s because you’ve taken what doesn’t belong to you."
Joel Bellamy disagreed, "What do you mean it doesn’t belong to me? If it weren’t for me, Hayden would be dead! You’d already be a widow. I pulled him ashore and cared for him day and night. His life was saved by me, so he belongs to me!"
Shannon Quinn remained calm, "I’ve said before, I’m very grateful for saving his life, but your intention to possess him shouldn’t have arisen."
Joel Bellamy retorted, "I just like him, what’s wrong with that?"
Shannon Quinn chuckled, "Do you know how much he loved me before?"
Joel Bellamy was at a loss for words, unwilling to think about their past love, "The past is past, he’s forgotten. Now, the person he wants to love is me!"
Shannon Quinn said, "Miss, I’m not sure what your idea of liking is. Even counting the days he was unconscious, you two have been together less than a month, with even less time spent together. You say you like him? What do you like about him? His looks? Or is there no other man in the village that could replace him?"
Joel Bellamy found herself stumped by Shannon Quinn’s question, what did she like about Landon Sutton?
She never thought about it, from the day she pulled him out of the sea, she thought he was the best-looking man she’d ever seen, hoping day and night he’d wake up.
Now he’s awake, but another woman wants to take him away, she can’t bear it.
"Why would you care what I like about him? I just want to marry him, so what? You pretend he’s already dead, as he’s forgotten you. I’ll take good care of him for you, and once you return, knowing he’s living well here, you can have some peace of mind. You should thank me."
Shannon Quinn laughed, "He’s my husband, the father of my two children. As long as he’s alive, I won’t leave him alone here."
Joel Bellamy glanced at her belly and sneered, "I see the child in your belly is quite a few months along too. Don’t know if you’ll safely deliver while stirring up trouble here. Better return and rest for your baby’s sake. You have his child, just don’t concern yourself with him anymore."
Shannon Quinn: "Have you ever considered, if he regains his memory in some days and realizes you’ve been deceiving him, what his attitude towards you might be?"
