CHAPTER 444: CHAPTER 444: THE ASSISTANT ISN’T BAD

The woman placed the document in her hand on Landon Sutton’s desk and then smiled at Shannon Quinn, saying, "I just joined the day before yesterday."

Shannon Quinn nodded knowingly, wanting to comment on her outfit but felt it was her freedom.

It wasn’t exactly revealing, just a bit overly sexy.

"Madam, if there’s nothing else, I’ll get back to work."

Shannon Quinn nodded, "Alright, go ahead."

Landon Sutton having a female secretary and assistant was nothing new, and she had never realized she cared about this issue before.

Perhaps it was a woman’s intuition telling her that the girl wasn’t so simple.

Shannon Quinn stood up, looked at the assistant office from outside, and saw the girl who had just delivered the document sitting by a male colleague, leaning slightly and chatting humorously.

It looked like she wasn’t the kind of person who sincerely wants to work here.

"Sister-in-law?" Ronan Rhodes appeared out of nowhere, "Why are you here? I just have something I want to ask for your help with!"

Shannon Quinn withdrew her gaze and walked over to Ronan Rhodes, "Need my help?"

Ronan Rhodes smiled sheepishly, inviting Shannon Quinn to his office, served her tea, and then said, "Charlotte and I are preparing to get married on the 8th of next month, so I wanted to ask if you have time to help design a wedding dress for her."

Shannon Quinn was surprised, "Of course, I’d make time for something like that. Though I didn’t expect you two so soon, and I never thought you’d settle down one day."

"Isn’t this because I met the right person?"

"That’s great, settling down is much better than messing around every day."

Upon hearing this, Ronan immediately said, "Sister-in-law, you can tease me in private, but please don’t say that in front of Charlotte. The past is the past, let’s not bring it up."

Shannon Quinn teased, "Now you know how to hide your black history, huh?"

"Hehe, turn over a new leaf, right? So I’ll leave the wedding dress in your hands. Can it be done by the 8th? Is the time too tight?"

"Recently, the company doesn’t have many orders, so I have time. Is Charlotte working today? Does she have some free time? Discuss with her what style she’d like, or you can get her to add me on WeChat, and we can chat there."

"Sure, sure, I’ll get you her QR code." Ronan immediately took out his phone and pulled up Charlotte Sheffield’s QR code.

As Shannon Quinn scanned the code, she thoughtfully asked, "New hires in the assistant office?"

Ronan nodded, "I heard about it, two new people came in."

"What’s that girl’s name?"

Ronan was stunned for a moment before asking, "Which girl? The particularly flirtatious one?"

Shannon Quinn glanced at him, "You noticed her too?"

When this was mentioned, Ronan appeared to have something to say, "I didn’t catch her name, but I clearly remember she delivered documents to me yesterday and hinted several times, but I pretended not to understand and sent her back to work."

"That’s unlike you."

Ronan chuckled, "To be honest, if it were before, this girl probably would’ve been taken by me. Now, I’m not interested in this type anymore."

Shannon Quinn smiled meaningfully and asked, "So, do you think... does Master Nate have an interest in this type?"

Ronan’s smile froze, he didn’t dare answer recklessly, immediately dodging, "Sister-in-law, don’t you know Master Nate?"

"I know him, but I don’t know that woman."

"Sister-in-law, rest assured, if I can resist the temptation, naturally Master Nate can too."

"But if you say she’s hanging around every day, sooner or later something might happen."

Sometimes, it’s not that she doesn’t trust her man; she doesn’t trust the women outside. When women take the initiative, they can be much scarier than men, especially women with such enticing figures.

"Sister-in-law, you’re definitely overthinking it. What’s that woman compared to you? She’s just a bit taller, her chest a bit bigger; although she’s just graduated from university and younger than you, when you two stand together, you could call her big sister or aunt, and it wouldn’t be out of place. Besides..." Seeing Shannon Quinn’s face start to change, Ronan immediately realized he might have misspoken.

He smiled ingratiatingly, adding, "Big chest, no brains. You can tell that woman is not as smart as you."

Shannon Quinn: "..."

Ronan also realized he just kept making mistakes, awkwardly smiled, and was about to say something to make up for it when Landon Sutton’s voice came from the door, "What are you doing here?"

Shannon Quinn turned her head to look at him, stood up, and walked to Landon Sutton.

Landon Sutton placed the file he held onto the countertop by the door, instructed Ronan, "Verify these documents and bring them to me for signature."

After saying this, he wrapped an arm around Shannon Quinn and walked out, frowning slightly and asking her, "What were you two talking about?"

Shannon Quinn, hanging onto his arm, smiled as they walked, "Ronan said he’s getting married next month and asked me to help design a wedding dress for his wife."

"He’s getting married?" Landon Sutton was also skeptical, "Knocked someone up?"

Shannon Quinn snapped, "Is Ronan your brother or mine? You’re asking me that."

Just then, a gentle female voice came from behind, "President Sutton, I’ve printed the contract and left it in your office."

Landon Sutton turned his head to look at the woman, simply nodded as a reply, continued holding Shannon Quinn, and walked on, "Did he pay you for designing the wedding dress?"

Shannon Quinn turned back to look at the woman again, feeling like she was being provocative without reason.

She turned her attention back to answer Landon Sutton’s question, "Being brothers with you is really pointless. It’s rare for someone to get married, and you dare ask for money? Asking me to design is because they trust me."

Landon Sutton replied nonchalantly, "Then let’s not give a gift."

Shannon Quinn: "Since when did you become so stingy?"

He self-righteously said, "Preparing for a daughter, a son has to go to school, and a wife has to be supported, can’t we save where we can?"

Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes at him, "You’re just taking advantage of Ronan not daring to oppose you."

They had just entered the office for a few minutes when that woman pushed the door open again, placing a cup of coffee next to Landon Sutton’s desk, "Please enjoy, President Sutton."

Landon Sutton gave her a look, frowned slightly, and said, "I didn’t order coffee, did I?"

Hearing Landon Sutton speak to her, the woman immediately paused, stood still, and replied with a smile, "I noticed President Sutton had been in meetings all morning and must be tired, so I made a decision to brew you a cup of coffee."

Shannon Quinn increasingly felt that this woman was something else.

Landon Sutton, however, straightforwardly replied, "If you think I’m tired, then focus on doing your own work properly. Don’t find excuses to slack off during work hours."

The woman’s smile stiffened, she just lowered her head, responded with a "yes," and was about to leave when Shannon Quinn suggestively said, "Honey, your assistant is quite good, even more attentive than me, your wife. I didn’t even think about making you coffee."
