CHAPTER 59: CHAPTER 59: I SAW YOU

Shannon Quinn thought it was Landon Sutton asking if she had finished watching the movie, and she was ready to tell him they would meet a little later. But unexpectedly, the text message was from Jett Quinn.

The few simple words in the text made Shannon Quinn’s spine chill: I see you.

Shannon Quinn gasped and immediately looked outside through the store’s glass window.

People outside were coming and going with umbrellas, but she didn’t see any sign of Jett Quinn.

Unsure if it was Jett’s mischievous prank or if he was really hiding somewhere watching her.

The last time, she helped Landon Sutton and sent Jett Quinn to the police station; he surely holds a grudge.

"Shannon, does this outfit look good?" Erin Bishop came out after changing clothes, spun around in front of the mirror, and asked Shannon Quinn.

Shannon Quinn withdrew her gaze, turned to look at Erin Bishop with lingering fear, and nodded with a smile to conceal her emotions: "It looks good."

"Then I’ll take these two sets. Shannon, do you have anything you like?"

"... Let’s check out other stores." Shannon Quinn returned to the fitting room to change back into her own clothes. Just as she stepped out, her phone rang again, this time with a call.

Still recovering from the shock of that text message, Shannon Quinn shivered at the sound of her phone.

When she saw the caller was Landon Sutton, she felt surprisingly reassured.

"Finished watching? I’m also near the commercial street now, send me your address."

Shannon Quinn pursed her lips, glanced outside the store, and, driven by her own interest, shared her location with Landon Sutton.

She was worried that if Jett Quinn was indeed nearby, she and Erin Bishop couldn’t handle it. Landon’s presence would at least make her feel a bit safer.

But how long could such a strategy last? Can she guard against danger for a lifetime?

"Shannon? Who called you? You look lost."

Shannon Quinn snapped back to reality, smiled at Erin Bishop, put her phone back in her bag, and said, "Landon Sutton, he said he has something to handle, and he’s coming to find me now."

"What’s so urgent? Could it be he’s coming to accompany you shopping? Shannon, you better not hide anything from me. You aren’t secretly seeing him, are you?"

"No! He has a commercial exhibition; he’s looking for collaboration and discussing work stuff."

Erin Bishop looked at her skeptically, nodded, and said, "Alright, when is he coming?"

"He said he’s nearby."

"It’s raining heavily, so let’s not bother walking. There’s a café nearby; we can wait there, and you can ask him to join us directly."

Shannon Quinn nodded and sent a text message to Landon Sutton.

Following Erin Bishop out of the clothing store, she still anxiously glanced around, but still didn’t notice Jett Quinn.

The café was about a hundred meters away; they arrived shortly.

They chose a seat by the window, ordered fresh juice, and warmed up a bit.

"You’re pregnant, and I’ve been improving my diet with you, but you’re drinking juice?"

Shannon Quinn chuckled and, after some thought, said, "When Landon Sutton arrives, don’t mention my pregnancy."

"Why?"

"It’s nothing. I just don’t want too many people to know."

Erin Bishop nodded as if she understood: "Okay."

As soon as she finished speaking, a black Maybach stopped in front of the café. The next moment, they saw Landon Sutton in a light gray suit, holding a black long-handled umbrella, getting out of the car.

Shannon Quinn was somewhat absent-minded when Jett Quinn sent another message: Not bad, you called someone.

Upon seeing the message content, Shannon Quinn’s face turned pale, and she anxiously looked out the glass window. Amidst the traffic and people, she still couldn’t spot where Jett Quinn was hiding.

"Another friend?" Landon Sutton’s voice sounded, bringing Shannon Quinn back to her senses.

"Boss Sutton wouldn’t mind me being a bother, would he?" Erin Bishop teased with a meaningful smile.

Landon Sutton sat across from them, smiling gracefully, "Not at all, it’s nice to have someone with her."

This answer left Shannon Quinn and Erin Bishop somewhat puzzled. The waiter handed over the menu, and he ordered a coffee, then asked Shannon Quinn, "It’s raining so heavily, why go shopping?"

"It wasn’t raining when I left."

"Don’t catch a cold."

Listening to his naturally concerned words, Shannon Quinn felt a bit uneasy, and changed the subject, "Didn’t you say you had something to discuss with me?"

Landon Sutton reached down and handed Shannon Quinn a folder he had just taken from the car, "There are two theme proposals; you can take a look. They might help with your design direction."

"Boss Sutton, you’re so busy with work, yet you’re personally handling these tasks?" Erin Bishop teased with gossip-laden words.

Landon Sutton smiled faintly and replied, "This is work too, and I happened to have time to take care of it."

Seeing Landon Sutton answering flawlessly, Erin Bishop said, "Then if Boss Sutton has any collaborations in the future, consider our company. I’m hoping to benefit a little."

"No problem." Landon Sutton agreed readily. Erin Bishop smiled and glanced at Shannon Quinn, who just shot her a look and then lowered her head to review the documents.

Next, Erin Bishop received a phone call; it seemed like something urgent.

"Shannon, my mom called me to pick up my niece from school, so I need to leave now. Should I go first?"

Shannon Quinn nodded, and Erin Bishop continued, "Shannon, I didn’t bring my car; can I borrow yours? You’re close with Boss Sutton, so he can send you home later."

Before Shannon Quinn could answer, Landon Sutton nodded and said, "Alright."

"Boss Sutton is so kind."

Shannon Quinn smiled awkwardly, took out the car keys from her bag, and handed them over.

"I haven’t settled the bill yet, Boss Sutton, consider this meal on you." Erin Bishop said, took the car keys and her belongings, and quickly walked outside.

Leaving Shannon Quinn alone with Landon Sutton, feeling awkward all over.

She cleared her throat lightly and looked down, pretending to be engrossed in the documents to conceal her current unease.

Landon Sutton said nothing, resting his chin on his hand while earnestly looking at her.

With each day of the vacation passing, he dared not think about how much he’d miss her once he returned to Dragonspire.

Previously, when he hadn’t met her, he could resist such thoughts and focus solely on his affairs, just hoping to endure these days until he became an ordinary person, then reappear beside her and accompany her well.

Now, all plans had been disrupted; even just a couple of days without seeing her felt tormenting.

Now that she was pregnant, he couldn’t let go even more.

He wished he could always be by her side, care for her until she safely gave birth to the child, and then raise the child together with her...
