CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 80: YOU’RE THE BEST TO ME

Shannon Quinn caught up with Erin Bishop and asked her, "Are you not going to talk to him?"

Erin Bishop smiled bitterly and said, "How could I talk to him? Those two are so in love with each other, I can’t just destroy their relationship like some resentful woman. Besides, why he left back then doesn’t matter to me anymore. He left, that’s all that matters."

"Maybe he had his reasons?"

"What reasons could he have? Even if he did, it’s not an excuse for him to leave without a word and fall in love with someone else."

"Then you..."

"Shannon, you don’t have to comfort me. I’ve accepted the fact. Besides, I haven’t been waiting for him these years. It’s just that I haven’t met the right person to date. If I had met someone suitable, I might have been married by now. Who cares about him."

Shannon Quinn just smiled, choosing not to expose Erin Bishop’s true feelings.

In truth, it’s not that she hasn’t found the right person, it’s just that she’s holding onto someone in her heart, making even the most excellent people seem like mere substitutions.

Behind them, no one noticed the gaze following them.

"Zane, what are you looking at? I’m talking to you!" Zoe Whitman looked at Zane Rhodes, her face showing some dissatisfaction.

Zane Rhodes withdrew his gaze, a cold demeanor with a hint of hardly noticeable impatience. "Go shop on your own, I have work to do."

"I’ll go with you!"

"No need, I’ll come find you later." Zane Rhodes said, pulling his arm away and walking off without looking back.

Zoe Whitman pouted unhappily, leaving by herself.

At Shannon Quinn’s display, Zoe Whitman took out her phone, snapped a photo, and sent it to Zane Rhodes, saying: I want to buy this.

"Rona, isn’t that the girl?" Shannon Quinn, standing aside, noticed Zoe Whitman.

Erin Bishop looked up, sized Zoe Whitman up and down, probably considering her a rival, saying disdainfully: "Acting all cute at her age, I can’t understand Zane Rhodes’ taste anymore."

Shannon Quinn wasn’t particularly fond of the overly cutesy girls either, thinking they were just pretentious. But men always seemed to fall for it.

"Are you Shannon Quinn?!"

The two were quietly discussing Zoe Whitman, only to have Zoe look up and excitedly call out Shannon Quinn’s name.

Shannon Quinn and Erin Bishop exchanged glances and smiled awkwardly.

Zoe Whitman, like a fangirl, came over pointing at the dress she photographed, saying: "This is your design, right?! I always loved your style. Whenever there was an exhibition abroad with your designs, I’d be there. I always buy your new women’s wear releases as soon as they come out!"

"Thank you."

"It’s my first time seeing you in person though, you look even prettier than in magazine photos!"

Shannon Quinn was a bit embarrassed, thinking to herself that it’s natural for this kind of girl to be likable.

First glance at her appearance, Shannon Quinn thought she was the same type as Claire Yardley, but now Zoe Whitman at least seemed more polite and tactful, knowing what to say in different situations.

Regardless of whether her praise for Shannon Quinn was sincere, it didn’t come off as bothersome.

"Can we take a picture? I never thought I’d run into you here."

Shannon Quinn nodded generously. "Of course."

Erin Bishop wisely took a step back. Zoe Whitman, seeing this, naturally took Erin Bishop’s hand and said, "You’re Miss Quinn’s friend, right? Let’s take one together."

After a few minutes of interaction, Zoe Whitman appeared quite friendly, linking arms with Shannon Quinn like long-time friends, discussing the works as they browsed.

Erin Bishop just walked on the other side of Shannon Quinn, watching Zoe Whitman with a half-smile without speaking.

Opponents cross paths, and soon they encountered Zane Rhodes and Landon Sutton chatting by the corridor.

"Zane!" Zoe Whitman released Shannon and ran joyously to Zane Rhodes, holding his arm, proudly showing Shannon Quinn to Zane Rhodes: "Look who I found! The designer I mentioned to you today, her works are the reason I asked you to bring me here!"

Zane Rhodes glanced at Shannon Quinn, his gaze quickly settling on Erin Bishop’s face. Erin Bishop just looked at him expressionlessly, not avoiding his gaze, simply trying to control the fluctuation in her eyes to appear calm.

Shannon Quinn noticed the undercurrent in their eyes, unsure of their situation, but felt uncomfortable being stared at by Landon Sutton.

In the tense silence, Landon Sutton whispered something to Zane Rhodes, glanced at Shannon Quinn again, then walked with his cane towards the work area.

Zane Rhodes also looked away, glanced at Zoe Whitman and said, "Go shop on your own, I have more work to do."

Zoe Whitman held onto Zane Rhodes’ hand, asking, "Did you see the text I just sent you?"

"I saw it."

"Why didn’t you reply? I said I wanted to buy that dress."

"When have I ever stopped you from buying what you want?"

Zoe Whitman smiled happily, leaned contentedly against Zane Rhodes’ arm: "You’ll pay for it."

"Yeah."

"I knew you treat me the best."

"Okay, go on then." Zane Rhodes added, glancing emotionlessly at Erin Bishop, but before anyone could analyze what his gaze meant, he turned and left.

Erin Bishop had just mentioned disliking Zoe Whitman, yet at this moment she saw herself and Zane Rhodes’ past in Zoe Whitman.

She often acted unreasonably, and he always patiently indulged her.

But now he seemed different from before, though she couldn’t pinpoint how.

After all these years, the one he loves isn’t her anymore. Everything had changed, and it was only natural for him to be different.

She had fantasized countless times about their reunion, but it turned out to be just another encounter.

Even strangers would greet each other with a "hello", yet what she waited years for was him gently loving another woman.

Shannon Quinn glanced worriedly at Erin Bishop, while Zoe Whitman, unaware, came up and complained: "Don’t all men dislike accompanying women to these things? They always ditch me."

"How long have you been together?" Shannon Quinn hadn’t answered before Erin Bishop suddenly asked.

Zoe Whitman didn’t wonder why Erin Bishop asked, just assumed it was normal girl talk, seemingly happy to boast about Zane: "You mean Zane and me? We’ve been together for quite a few years, I actually can’t remember exactly, being with him makes the time fly by."
