CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: JUST WANT TO GET BACK AT HIM

Ronan hesitated for a moment, finally nodded, and agreed, "Alright, I can help you sound out my brother’s thoughts, but I can’t guarantee anything."

"It’s settled then, you must cooperate with me when the time comes."

Ronan nodded, picked up his teacup, took a sip, leaned back on the sofa, and said with mock seriousness, "I can cooperate with you, but let me tell you upfront, I look exactly like my brother, and honestly, I think I’m much more handsome. I’m way more fun and humorous than my brother, so don’t fall in love with me. I’m a dashing and free-spirited guy; you won’t be able to tie me down."

Upon hearing this, Shannon Quinn couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh, while Erin Bishop picked up an eraser from the table and threw it at Ronan, "You narcissist! Only those immature young girls would fall for you!"

Ronan didn’t argue, caught the eraser and placed it on the coffee table, stood up, and said, "You have my contact information, we can discuss other details later. I won’t disturb you both; I’ll be off now."

"Okay, thank you." Shannon got up to see Ronan to the door, but suddenly remembered something, "Wait! I have something to give to Landon Sutton, can you pass it on for me?"

"What is it?"

Shannon immediately turned back to her room, took out a gift bag she had just bought, and handed it to Ronan, saying, "This, could you give it to him? He said he needs it by tomorrow."

Ronan glanced at the exquisite little paper bag in his hand, not curious about its contents, nodded, and said, "Sure, no problem, I’ll deliver it first thing in the morning."

Shannon nodded in thanks, hesitated for a bit, opened her mouth, but ultimately asked nothing, closing the door.

She wanted to ask where Landon Sutton had been lately and why he hadn’t been staying over, but then she thought, this had nothing to do with her, the gift was delivered, the favor repaid, and fewer interactions in the future wouldn’t be bad.

"Shannon, is this room the one your husband used to stay in?"

Snapping out of her thoughts, Shannon walked over and saw Erin standing in front of the wardrobe, examining its contents, "I see there are a few men’s clothes inside."

"Oh, he stayed here for a couple of days; let me have those clothes, I’ll hang them in my place."

Erin took out the clothes and handed them to Shannon, saying, "You two are sleeping in separate rooms?"

Shannon just smiled, not responding, which was as good as admitting.

Erin knew the special circumstances of their marriage and didn’t probe further.

Shannon went to the kitchen to prepare dinner, with Erin tidying her belongings in the room.

When the meal was ready, Shannon called for Erin, who had almost finished organizing.

"Gosh, I haven’t worked this hard in ages, I’m exhausted."

"Wash your hands and let’s eat."

At the dining table, Shannon handed Erin the bowls and chopsticks, asking, "Rona, do you really plan on partnering with Ronan?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Why are you doing this? Do you think Zane would still get jealous?"

Erin picked up her bowl and drank half the soup before saying, "Honestly, I don’t know why, I just feel doing this makes me feel slightly better, I just want to annoy him."

Shannon understood that feeling of unwillingness, and since Erin had made up her mind, she kindly reminded her, "I don’t know Zane personally, but you should be careful around him."

"Careful of him? Why? Isn’t he Landon Sutton’s brother?"

"I don’t mean he’s bad, he might not be a bad person, it’s just that his private life might be a bit messy. When I went to find him this morning, there was a woman in his room, but judging by their conversation, they weren’t in a relationship. So I’m worried you’ll get involved with him..."

After hearing Shannon’s concerns, Erin laughed and said, "Are you afraid I’ll sleep with him? Don’t worry, I’m sensible about this, and from what I see, Ronan isn’t someone who lacks discretion; he won’t mess things up, his fun and my plans don’t conflict."

"Men tend to think with their lower halves. Our Rona is beautiful and has a great figure; there’s a chance he might get impulsive with you, so be careful."

Erin nodded with a smile, "Got it, I’ll be sure to take care of myself."

"Alright, let’s eat."

Early the next morning, Ronan drove to the hospital where Landon Sutton was recuperating.

When he arrived, the things in Landon’s room were mostly packed, with a suitcase by the door.

Ronan entered the room as Landon sat on a recliner on the balcony, resting with his eyes closed.

"Master Nate, getting ready to head back?"

Landon didn’t open his eyes and didn’t answer the question, just asked, "Is the thing here?"

Ronan was momentarily confused before quickly realizing, handing over the item Shannon had given him the day before, "You mean this? Miss Quinn gave it to me yesterday to pass on to you."

Only then did Landon open his eyes, reach out to take the black little bag, extract the small box inside, and examine the delicate gift box.

Since Ronan was still present, he didn’t open the box, speaking lazily, "I’ve told your brother about the company’s matters, make sure to consult with your brother when working on things."

"Understood, Master Nate, don’t worry, we’re here to handle things."

"Alright, you can go now."

"When are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow."

Ronan immediately put on a deeply saddened face, "I feel like you just got back and now you’re leaving again already, I’m going to miss you heaps!"

"Get lost."

"But it’s much better than before, now there are regular breaks, and I can visit you when I’m free."

"No need to."

Ronan added with a smile, "I’ll bring Miss Quinn along to visit you."

Landon shot him a look, and Ronan stepped aside, "I’ll be off then; take a look at what Miss Quinn got you."

Hearing Ronan leave and the door closing, Landon finally opened the box in his hand.

The item inside was not extraordinary to him; he had plenty at home, many more valuable than what was in the box.

But since this was bought by Shannon Quinn, it carried a special importance.

He gently stroked the item in the box, a gentle smile on his face as memories of her flashed through his mind.

The time spent together recently had been his happiest moment.

He didn’t know if, after this parting, he would live to return to her and their child.

He also worried about her being alone and pregnant, afraid she’d endure hardships, be bullied, all while he couldn’t help her with anything.

Perhaps his love was a bit too selfish for her.
