CHAPTER 99: – SASHA –
"You need to divorce her."
"Oh... Is that so?"
"Yes. Only if you divorce, can I probably turn her gaze back to me again," he continued. "You’re in the way. And I know Viviana. So long as you’re in the picture, she will never look my way. More so with that fact that she harbours immense anger towards me. So what do you say?"
Nikolas slowly sized this man up, face blank with no expression visible.
He questioned, "Do you really think I’ll do that?"
Emilio shrugged.
"Of course I didn’t think you would," as he said, he, he pulled out a check book out of the pocket of his suit and took out his fountain pen. "That’s why I’m going to write you a check."
Nikolas blinked at him.
"How much do you want?" Emilio taunted. "One million? Five million? Or perhaps ten?"
Nikolas stared at the man. Then all of a sudden, he began chuckling. "Ten million?" He peered hard at him. "That’s all she’s worth to you? That’s really cheap ya know?"
Emilio’s expression fell. "What would you know? Have you ever even smelt or touched a million in your life?" he scoffed. "Don’t get cocky just because Viviana married a dirt like you. I was only trying to play nice, I mean, I’m pretty sure this money will help your life, wouldn’t it? At least, then you wouldn’t need her to buy nice suits for you anymore, no?" His brownish eyes roamed over Nikolas.
Nikolas turned and settled down on the edge of the table, ankle crossed. He tipped his head back to stare at the ceiling, asking, "And if I don’t comply?"
"Then you’ll have no one to blame. I don’t appreciate people forcing my hands, especially low life’s like you. Viviana is mine, the woman I’ve loved for years before she even knew you existed. So—"
His vision blurred and blackened before he could even complete his words. The only thing he felt was his body being slammed into something too solid, the back of his head banging back with a loud thud that made his brain ring.
When he came to it, he found Nikolas had him by the throat, body oppressed upon the wall with his feet off the floor and dangling mid air. The man was gazing up at him, the rage that didn’t show on his face oozing from him.
"Ten million?" he muttered. "Is she a product that you can buy off? How dare you reduce her to that?" His fingers sharpened, digging into his throat and spilling little drops of blood. "Your luck is high, because I don’t kill, at least not this easily. However, I will give you just a bit of warning."
Nikolas yanked him off the wall, still holding him mid air like he weighed nothing. And Emilio was in no way small, especially at his height of 6’4. Nikolas dragged his face close enough that he could stare into his empty eyes, saying, "If you ever pull this sort of stunt again, you will wish you never met me. And I assure you, even if they looked, nobody will find you. Never you cross Viviana’s part, never you touch her, and never you dare try this bullshit you did again. Because the next time you do..."
"Emilio, isn’t it?" His gaze grew so dark, Emilio froze. "You don’t know who I am. I’m in my worst now and I’m not thinking straight. Don’t try to be a scape goat, alright. It won’t be funny. At all."
He shoved him roughly to the ground and as Emilio clutched his slightly bleeding neck while coughing hard, Nikolas took off the gloves and tossed it on the floor with a repulsed expression.
"This is your first and last warning. Avoid me. Don’t push it."
He turned, proceeding to leave the restaurant.
Emilio coughed out. "You’re dangerous!"
Nikolas paused his steps. He glanced over his shoulder at him, saying,
"I see you’re not so stupid after all."
He slammed the door shut.
Fernando threw the coffee cup he held on the floor. Of course just like his father had stated, he was handing the agency to his sister. And the bitch already called him to make plans on how they could sign the papers which stated the company was being handed over to her.
Everything was going completely wrong.
After what she’d instigated a few days ago, none of it went how he’d hoped. Viviana didn’t look as miserable as he wanted. Hell, she was right back at work, looking as good as ever.
There was no news of divorce in the headlines, meaning that even though she knew her husband wasn’t human, she was still willing to stay with him.
His face grew grim. But his eyes flashed.
"Or maybe he’s not allowing her to. What if he’s threatening her?"
He grinned. "Well, that makes things even more fun and interesting." He could still recall how Nikolas had beat up he and Oliver and even stripped him naked, taking his clothes.
But it was all worth it.
Viviana wanted to take revenge on him huh? "Well, in return, I’ll just make her miserable. And I will never stop."
He dropped on the edge of his desk, grinning and staring out of the glass window.
A knock suddenly came at his door.
"Come in."
Someone walked in. "You...called for me?"
Fernando turned, lifting his brow.
It was Sasha.
Her coily hair was packed up into a bun, brown eyes bouncing about in the office.
"Come over here, Sasha," he wiggled his finger.
Sasha blinked at him.
’I can help you. Just give me the chance’ Viviana’s words resounded in her head and she lifted her head, clutching her clothing at her chest where the bodycam was hidden.
"S-sir, is there a-anything you need from me?" she stuttered, but wouldn’t take a step.
Fernando pinched between his brows. "Are we going to do this again?"
Sasha made no response.
"I don’t understand why you’re playing so hard to get." He sounded annoyed. "What more do you want me to do? I’ve asked you out a lot of times but you keep turning me down? Why? Aren’t I handsome enough?"
Sasha swallowed, shaking her head at him. "T-that’s not it."
"Then what is it?"
