My Possessive CEO: Trembling in His Arms
Chapter 106: Intercepting the Plane for Her
CHAPTER 106: CHAPTER 106: INTERCEPTING THE PLANE FOR HER
One step, two steps, three steps...
Caleb Yates carried the unconscious Renee Winslow past Harvey Lancaster. After taking more than a dozen steps, Harvey suddenly turned around, his eyes like a torch fixed on the man disguised as a woman, Caleb Yates.
Through the surface of his wristwatch, Caleb Yates saw Harvey Lancaster watching him.
Caleb Yates was so nervous that his sweat soaked the wig, yet he dared not run, for running might reveal him. At times like this, one must remain calm.
Harvey Lancaster squinted suspiciously, observing the tall and conspicuously strong blonde woman in a green dress, feeling a vague sense that something was amiss.
Suddenly, his phone rang, it was Jack Yates calling.
Harvey Lancaster promptly answered the call: "Third Brother."
Jack Yates asked in a low voice, "Where are you?"
Harvey Lancaster replied, "At the bathroom entrance on the west side of the second-floor security check hall."
Jack Yates: "Good, stand right there and don’t move, I’ll be there immediately."
After hanging up the phone, Harvey Lancaster raised his hand to check the time; it had been twenty minutes since Renee Winslow entered the bathroom.
He wasn’t sure if there were too many people inside, causing a queue, or if something had happened to Renee Winslow?
As he was anxiously worried, a large hand heavily pressed on his shoulder.
"Where is she?" Jack Yates asked.
Harvey Lancaster replied honestly, "Probably still in the bathroom."
Jack Yates raised an eyebrow: "Probably?" His face instantly darkened, and he asked coldly, "How long has she been inside?"
Harvey Lancaster said, "More than twenty minutes."
Jack Yates said nothing further, his expression turned terrifyingly grim.
Seeing an Asiana-looking girl coming out of the bathroom, Jack Yates reached out to hold her, asking in Mandarin, "Excuse me, are there many people inside?"
The girl replied in English that she was from Soran, meaning she didn’t understand his words.
So Jack Yates asked in English, "Are there many people in the ladies’ room?"
If another man had asked, the girl would have cursed him as a lunatic.
However, seeing Jack Yates’s handsome appearance, the girl replied with a smile, "Not many, only two or three."
Without waiting further, Jack Yates directly instructed the VIP customer service staff at the airport to clear the ladies’ room, calling everyone inside out, and then personally went in to check.
After coming out of the bathroom, Jack Yates looked at Harvey Lancaster with a gloomy expression.
He didn’t blame Harvey Lancaster immediately, now wasn’t the time for blame; the priority was to find Renee Winslow as soon as possible.
Despite being very angry, he restrained his fury, calmly asking, "Did you notice anything unusual?"
Harvey Lancaster quickly recounted what he had seen: "One minute before you called, I saw a tall and strong woman. The back of that woman looked very much like a man, and he was carrying a boy about ten years old."
Jack Yates decisively contacted the senior management of the airport, retrieving the surveillance video from the bathroom entrance.
Upon seeing the man obviously disguised as a woman in the video, although wearing a dress, mask, and sunglasses, Jack Yates recognized him just by his build—it was Caleb Yates.
And the flight Caleb Yates was on had taken off two minutes ago.
Jack Yates was so angry his molars were about to be crushed. He instructed Harvey Lancaster coldly, "Call Russell Yates, ask if he still wants his eldest grandson. If he doesn’t, I can take care of things for him. If he does, summon his eldest grandson back immediately and guard him tightly! If he causes trouble again, I’ll make sure his eldest son’s branch ends their lineage!"
After speaking, Jack Yates went aside to make a phone call.
He was calling a senior military commander over here, named Emil, who he had known for over a decade from when they met at military school.
That year in his junior year, he participated in Asiana’s Eighth Army International Academy Friendship Competition.
At that time, their class formed a platoon with students from Turqan, Koryan, and Ghaland. Before the competition, they underwent a twenty-day survival training in the desert and tropical rainforest, followed by a thirty-day friendship competition.
Nearly two months of iron-clad companionship, amidst a military life of bullets and gunfire, a group of young men in their twenties quickly built a strong friendship.
Later, when Jack Yates joined The Gilded Crescent anti-drug effort, those foreign buddies still in the military came out to help.
Emil had now, through military accomplishments, risen to General, becoming the youngest General.
Jack Yates had never asked anyone for help; this was his first time actively seeking help, nicely called asking a friend for assistance.
After the call was connected, he straightforwardly stated his purpose, asking Emil to help intercept a plane.
Emil asked, "Is there trouble?"
Jack Yates helplessly replied, "My woman has been kidnapped."
Emil solemnly said, "Yates, don’t worry, I’ll arrange for fighter jets to intercept immediately!"
-
Caleb Yates successfully passed the security check with Renee Winslow and entered the aircraft cabin.
The reason for his success was that he had arranged the security personnel in advance, offering them a substantial reward.
After sitting down, he reclined Renee Winslow’s seat.
Renee Winslow, with her eyes tightly shut, leaned against the seat, appearing to be asleep.
Caleb Yates glanced at the "sleeping" girl beside him, smiled, lowered his head, and kissed her fair and tender cheek.
As if afraid of waking her, Caleb Yates kept it brief, only pecking her cheek and daring not to intrude further.
Colin Grant, watching from the side, clicked his tongue in amazement: "I didn’t expect Young Master Yates to actually be a romantic."
After speaking, Colin Grant leaned in for a closer look, genuinely praising her beauty: "Indeed, she’s pretty. This little face, so white and tender, you could almost pinch water out of it, no wonder you two uncle and nephew fought so hard over her."
Listening to his evaluation of Renee Winslow, Caleb Yates kicked him in the leg, cursing: "That’s my woman, stop joking around!" He added, "What do you mean, fighting? She is my girlfriend in the first place."
Colin Grant lazily leaned back on the seat, hands behind his head, and said in a casual tone: "But to your third uncle, she’s his legitimate girlfriend. After all, he has slept with her, while you haven’t touched her at all."
These words hit Caleb Yates’s sore spot.
Caleb Yates was so angry he gritted his teeth: "I’ll settle this score with him sooner or later!"
Colin Grant: "Come on, as long as you have her back, don’t dwell on past issues. Ultimately, you’re family; don’t actually become enemies with your third uncle. When your great-grandfather has a birthday, or your grandfather has a birthday, or when they pass away someday, you’ll still have to return to Northcity. If your relationship is as hostile as a bloody feud, how can you face each other then?"
Caleb Yates fell silent, looking down at his wristwatch.
There were at most two minutes before Renee Winslow would wake up, and three minutes before the plane took off.
Renee Winslow groggily opened her eyes, discovering herself on a plane.
She turned around, seeing Caleb Yates, and pushed against the armrest intending to stand up. However, as she tried to rise, she was bounced back by the tight seatbelt.
"Caleb Yates, you’ve gone too far." Her tone was meant to be fierce, but as the anesthetic effect wore off, her words came out weak and powerless.
Caleb Yates pressed her hand: "Renee, don’t be afraid. I’m saving you. Rest assured, I won’t harm you."
Renee Winslow’s head still felt dizzy. She shook her head slightly, weakly saying, "Let me off."
Caleb Yates’s voice suddenly became stern: "Off for what? Don’t tell me you’ve really fallen for him?"
Renee Winslow looked at him as if he were a monster: "..."
Caleb Yates’s tone softened: "Be good, sit tight, the plane is about to take off."
Renee Winslow helplessly sat in her seat, looking vacantly out of the window.
With only a handful of seconds left before takeoff, Caleb Yates’s heart raced, his body heating up, as if the blood within him was about to ignite.
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one...
The plane slowly began taxiing on the runway, then gradually ascended, finally soaring into the sky.
Caleb Yates breathed a heavy sigh of relief. Thankfully, the plane had successfully taken off! Once airborne, he had nothing to fear!
Looking at the dazzling sunset outside the window, Caleb Yates slyly curled his lips into a grin, laughing smugly yet recklessly.
This time, he had finally bested Jack Yates.
But in the next second, his laughter ceased.
From all directions, a fighter jet approached—four in total—surrounding this ordinary civilian aircraft.
