CHAPTER 148: CHAPTER 148: JACK YATES, NOT HERE...

Renee Winslow knows how to swim, it was Jack Yates who taught her. But she got scared when she just fell into the lake and didn’t react immediately, so she struggled randomly for a bit.

Once she calmed down, she quickly regained her balance and was about to swim to shore by herself.

But Jack Yates jumped into the lake and scooped her up.

Renee hurriedly explained, "I didn’t jump in on my own, someone hit my leg with a stone. If you don’t believe me, look."

As she spoke, she was about to roll up her pant leg, but Jack Yates stopped her hand in time.

Renee gazed at him with grievance, her doe-like eyes glistening and watery, with a tinge of red at the corners, looking pitiable and fragile.

Jack, seeing her like this, felt his heart soften, and his tone softened as well, "Show me when we get inside."

Looking down and seeing her soaked appearance, Jack’s expression darkened again. His large hand pressed on the back of her head, pulling her tightly to his chest, wishing he could fuse her into his body to prevent anyone else from seeing her.

Renee was pressed so hard by him that she couldn’t breathe. Just as she tried to pull away, Jack covered her head and upper body with his suit jacket, wrapping her tightly.

Jack quickly carried Renee to a luxurious suite with a hot spring pool.

As they passed through the hall, Jack shot a cold glance at Simon Forrester, "Close the door and clear the people."

Simon asked, "What happened?"

Jack replied coldly, "Someone here is asking for trouble."

Simon asked no more and immediately had someone investigate.

At the club’s back door.

Lily Thatcher pulled her eight-year-old nephew and hurriedly ran to the back door, about to open it and leave when the security personnel swiftly shut the door.

"Why are you closing the door?" Lily questioned angrily.

The security personnel replied politely, "Miss Thatcher, please don’t be upset. Mr. Forrester instructed us to close the door and specifically said not to let anyone out, no matter who they are."

Lily blinked nervously but maintained a justified tone, "Alright, then let my brother come over, I’ll ask him personally."

Just as she finished speaking, Simon Forrester approached with a frosty expression.

"Brother..." Lily turned around, ready to complain to Simon but was so frightened by his cold face that she retracted her neck and didn’t dare speak.

Simon was so angry he wanted to slap her, raising his hand, but in the end, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.

After all, she was his blood cousin, the only daughter of his aunt, raised under their grandparents’ care. If anything were to happen, not to mention his late aunt, it would be hard to explain to their grandmother.

"Uncle, don’t be mad at cousin, it’s not her fault, it was me who shot the slingshot," the eight-year-old Leo Forrester stood up and said righteously, "Cousin said..."

Lily hurriedly tried to cover Leo’s mouth, but he dodged her hand and quickly finished, "That woman is a bad person, a mistress, and mistresses should be attacked by everyone."

Upon hearing these words, Simon’s temples throbbed with anger.

"Lily!" Simon looked at Lily, gritting his teeth, "Who told you she was a mistress? You know she’s not, so why say that?"

Lily lowered her head, refusing to speak, but murmured not-so-humbly, "Even if she’s not a mistress, she’s no good."

Simon, furious, raised his hand again, "You! Lily, do you know how much trouble you’ve caused yourself?"

Lily held her head high arrogantly, letting out a disdainful laugh, "Ha, she’s just the Canary kept by our third brother. Could it be that he would offend the Thatcher and Forrester families for her?"

Simon chuckled out of anger, shaking his head, "You have no understanding of Jack Yates at all. If you knew even a little about him, you wouldn’t do something so foolish!"

Lily pouted, "I don’t believe our third brother would hit me for her."

Simon: "I don’t know if Jack would hit you or not, but you must apologize to Renee Winslow now. Remember, you’re apologizing to Renee, not Jack."

Lily shouted loudly, "I’m not going! As if! Dream on! Asking me to apologize to her? Dream on!"

Leo said, "Uncle, I, I’ll go apologize. It was me who did it."

Simon yanked Leo by the arm, pulling him to his side, "Nonsense, of course you have to go. But Lily, you must go too. This was your idea for Leo to do it."

Lily turned her head defiantly, "I won’t go!"

Simon, not wanting to waste words with her, directly instructed the security, "Take her away!"

Inside the hot spring suite.

Renee was placed into the hot spring pool by Jack. She was just about to grab a towel to cover her body when a pair of strong arms embraced her from behind.

"Jack, let go, not here..."

Before she could finish speaking, Jack held her body pinned against the pool wall, pressing his chin to her neck and turning his head to kiss her ear.

Renee’s body softened, and she nearly slipped into the water.

Jack tightened his grip around her waist and pulled her up, pressing her tightly to him.

Renee gasped, her voice trembling, "Not here, what if..."

Jack bit her tender neck and said in a husky voice, "I want to now, Renee, don’t resist."

Renee bit her lip, "But your friends are still outside waiting for you, and this..."

Jack despised Renee making excuses to reject him during such moments and kissed her on the mouth, giving her no chance to refuse.

The sound of splashing water echoed in the room, water splattering everywhere like waves.

Renee felt like a small boat adrift on a vast ocean, tossed by giant waves, floating and sinking.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door, and Simon’s voice came from outside, "Third brother, I have brought the person to you."

Hearing Simon’s voice, Renee tensed up instantly.

Jack, feeling the squeeze, let out a muffled groan, tightened the hand on her waist, and said in a low, raspy voice, "Do you get excited hearing another man’s voice?"
