My Possessive CEO: Trembling in His Arms
Chapter 19: The Third Young Master Yates Is Going to Fall!
CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: THE THIRD YOUNG MASTER YATES IS GOING TO FALL!
Renee Winslow didn’t believe Jack Yates had fallen in love at first sight with her. What they called love at first sight was just being captivated by her looks.
At Jack Yates’ age, it’s impossible to have a heart-pounding moment like a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy. Most importantly, with Jack Yates’ status, such a possibility is minuscule, almost impossible.
So she didn’t respond to his words and changed the subject.
Of course, she also wanted to know where else Jack Yates had seen her besides the Kyoro Hotel.
Because after that birthday, she never went to any high-end places, and logically, there shouldn’t be any chance to meet Jack Yates.
She looked at Jack Yates with full anticipation, but Jack Yates just ruffled her hair and said, "If I want to see you, I’ll have my ways."
These words sounded to Renee Winslow like they had another meaning.
She didn’t ask any more, smiled obediently, and turned her face to look out the window.
The car twisted and turned to a building, then entered the basement next to it.
After parking the car, Jack Yates took Renee Winslow’s hand and took the elevator to the first floor, exited the building from the first floor, crossed the street, and walked to a closed vermillion gate opposite.
The plaque on the gate was nameless, only a blue plate marked with the number: 1607.
Jack Yates introduced her, "This is a club."
Later, Renee Winslow learned that it was a club opened by Simon Forrester, the second son of the Forrester Family, called Prospect Hill, and it was membership-only. Ordinary people couldn’t get in, and those who usually played here were wealthy scions.
The vermillion gate closed, giving off an inexplicable aura of authority, making people only dare to glance from a distance, not daring to get close.
Next to this club was a bar, and as it was still early, the bar’s door was closed. The bar was another friend of Jack Yates, Aiden Grant’s.
Jack Yates stood at the door and called Simon Forrester, only saying two words: "Open the door."
After saying this, he hung up the phone, unwilling to say another word.
Renee Winslow lowered her eyes, forcibly suppressing the upwards-curving corners of her mouth.
Jack Yates looked at her, wanting to laugh but didn’t dare. He pulled her wrist towards him, gripping her soft waist, and said in a low voice: "If you want to laugh, just laugh."
Renee Winslow bit her lip, and finally couldn’t hold back and laughed out loud.
Jack Yates stroked her waist, squinting as he looked at her, "What’s funny?"
Renee Winslow laughed and said, "I always thought you talked less, but now it seems you talk quite a lot in front of me."
Renee Winslow had been with Jack Yates for more than a month, and in her view, Jack Yates was cold and not very talkative.
However, upon seeing him with his friends, she realized that Jack Yates spoke far more in front of her than his usual amount.
Jack Yates’ hand on her waist suddenly tightened: "Do you think I talk too much?"
Renee Winslow was about to speak when the vermillion gate opened, and she quickly pushed against his chest with both hands to retreat.
A playful and unrestrained face appeared inside, and Simon Forrester said with a roguish smile, "Well, Third Brother actually brought someone, how rare."
His words were laden with teasing.
Jack Yates didn’t respond, pulling Renee Winslow’s hand and walking inside.
Simon Forrester trailed behind Jack Yates, half a step behind, saying while walking, "That damn Connor Carrington crashed into someone drag racing yesterday and got thrown in again, that punk..."
Jack Yates coldly interrupted, "Shut up."
Simon Forrester glanced at Renee Winslow and said nothing more.
Renee Winslow kept her eyes down, pretending she hadn’t heard anything, making herself invisible.
-
Prospect Hill is located in a bustling commercial area, a quiet courtyard house amidst the noise, usually with its gate closed, looking like a restricted area.
The courtyard is elegant, with the style of Ming and Qing gardens.
Renee Winslow followed Jack Yates around the screen wall, entered the courtyard, and came to the main hall.
Three people were sitting on the sofa in the hall. Seeing Jack Yates, all three of them immediately stood up respectfully to greet him.
Aiden Grant, seeing Renee Winslow being led by Jack Yates, had a fleeting look of surprise in his eyes, quickly reining in his emotions, and nodded at Renee Winslow with a smile as a sign of respect.
They all knew Renee Winslow was snatched by Jack Yates from his nephew, Caleb Yates, but seeing Renee Winslow, not a word of inappropriate comments was made.
First, they feared Jack Yates, not daring to speak recklessly in front of him, and second, in their circle, such a thing as "taking by force and power" was not new at all.
In this circle, people are either very restrained or very indulgent.
Originally, Jack Yates had always been a very restrained person, the most restrained among them, but now he was cast out by them and joined the indulgent group.
Jack Yates never cared about these external evaluations; he always did what he wanted to do.
Jack Yates led Renee Winslow into a private room. The people inside seemed activated as if triggered by a mechanism, standing up abruptly.
A trendy-dressed girl among them cheerfully called out: "Third Brother."
Jack Yates nodded lightly.
The girl’s eyes took a circle around Renee Winslow, smiling as she said, "Everyone has been saying Third Brother has a treasure hidden in the Thatcher Manor, afraid of being coveted, so no one was allowed to visit, turns out this is the treasure Third Brother has been hiding from us."
Renee Winslow blushed from the teasing.
Jack Yates’ face darkened: "Who did you hear that from?"
Simon Forrester came in, pulling the girl away with a smile to smooth things over, "Third Brother, don’t listen to Lily talking nonsense. None of us said that."
The girl’s name was Lily Thatcher, Simon Forrester’s cousin.
Lily Thatcher pouted, not daring to joke anymore.
Simon Forrester set up a mahjong table and looked at Jack Yates: "Third Brother, wanna play?"
Jack Yates looked down and asked Renee Winslow, "Do you know how to play mahjong?"
Renee Winslow nodded slightly, "I do, but I’m not very good at it."
Jack Yates: "Compared to playing cards?"
Renee Winslow: "...I’m more skilled at playing cards."
Jack Yates chuckled, "I’ll teach you."
Lily Thatcher was the first to sit at the mahjong table, "I want to play too."
Jack Yates pulled Renee Winslow to sit across from Lily Thatcher, whispering in her ear, "Don’t worry, just play casually, your man can afford to lose."
Lily Thatcher was shocked, looking at Jack Yates’ cold and fierce face, rapidly lowering her head, not daring to look at him again.
Simon Forrester also heard it, but he didn’t joke about it, pretending not to hear. If it were only Jack Yates, he might have joked around. Brothers could joke however they liked, but with Renee Winslow there, he was afraid joking might infuriate Jack Yates.
"Old Grant, Fourth Brother, you two playing or not?"
Aiden Grant closed his eyes, leaning back on the sofa, lazily gesturing, "I’m not playing, you guys go ahead."
The one called "Fourth Brother" was Jack Yates’ cousin, boasting a very bold name, Frederick Yates, named in line with Jack Yates’ birth name, Felix Yates.
One being Windfang Ruin, the other being Frederick to the minister.
When they were young, the brothers were often teased by the courtyard kids; however, they openly teased Fourth Brother, while only daring to tease Jack Yates behind his back.
A few years ago, Fourth Brother also wanted to change his name but was scolded back by his dad after a few words, and he hasn’t dared to change it since.
Because of this bold yet, somewhat immature name, Fourth Brother got plenty of nicknames in school, the biggest being "Lord Frederick," especially among the group of rich scions, everyone calling him Lord Frederick often drove Fourth Brother mad.
Others would call him "Minister," with derived nicknames like Elphin and The White Elephant.
Fourth Brother came over and sat opposite Simon Forrester.
With everyone assembled, Simon Forrester, Frederick Yates, Renee Winslow, and Lily Thatcher, two men and two women, just made up a mahjong table.
Simon Forrester proposed a few ways to play and asked which one everyone wanted to play, mainly asking Renee Winslow.
Because apart from Renee Winslow, the other three were seasoned players, able to play any type and played all types proficiently.
Jack Yates knew Renee Winslow wasn’t good at card games, whether mahjong or poker, everything was unskilled, so he directly chose the simplest version.
Fourth Brother smiled meaningfully, "Third Brother, did you bring enough money, there’s no credit at the mahjong table, we all use cash."
Hearing this, Renee Winslow immediately wanted to stand up. She had just moved when Jack Yates pressed her shoulder down.
Jack Yates held her round shoulders, calmly saying to Fourth Brother: "If you can’t afford to play, get out of the way. Why so much nonsense."
One round passed, and under Jack Yates’ guidance, Renee Winslow not only didn’t lose but also won.
She looked up at Jack Yates, her eyes seemingly sparkling with stars, bright and watery, the gentle gaze carrying a hint of admiration.
Jack Yates only felt half of his body go numb, almost drowning in her gentle gaze, his Adam’s apple bobbed as he hurriedly turned her face, "Focus on the game."
Simon Forrester noticed Jack Yates’ fluster, smiling intriguingly.
In his heart, there was only one feeling: it’s over, The Third Young Master Yates is going to fall!
