CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: YOU CAN ONLY BELONG TO ME IN THIS LIFETIME

One month?

Renee Winslow wanted to retort, "Why don’t you say one day?" However, she couldn’t say such things. If she did, Jack Yates might really make her fall in love with him within a day.

Let alone one month, she felt that even if given a year, she might not fall in love with Jack Yates.

It’s not that Jack Yates isn’t outstanding, but she knows clearly that their relationship cannot be taken seriously, much less allow real feelings.

"Isn’t a month too short?" Renee Winslow cuddled Jack Yates’s waist, acting coquettishly, "Third Brother, a month is too short, give a little more time, please."

Jack Yates asked her, "How long do you think is appropriate?"

Renee Winslow tentatively suggested, "Is a year okay?"

Jack Yates pinched her cheek with a smile, "Three months at most."

Renee Winslow had no choice but to compromise, three months it is. She agreed for now, and would think of a new strategy after three months, anyhow, there’s always a way to overcome obstacles.

Seeing Jack Yates refusing to let go, Renee Winslow gently pushed him, "Third Brother, I’m tired, I want to rest."

Jack Yates carried her to the sofa, lingeringly kissed her cheek, then kissed the corner of her lips, "You rest first. I’m going to the study for a meeting. After the meeting, I’ll take you to dinner, and after dinner, we’ll go to the hospital to visit Grandpa."

Renee Winslow readily agreed, "Alright."

Jack Yates took his laptop to the study, while Renee Winslow returned to the bedroom to sleep.

Having just gotten off the plane, Renee Winslow actually couldn’t sleep; although exhausted, she wasn’t sleepy, her mind was chaotic, buzzing.

Renee Winslow lay on the bed with closed eyes, many images flashed in her mind: her studying in Serenity County, her time in Northcity over the past year, and more vividly, her interactions with Jack Yates in the past month.

Thinking of Jack Yates inevitably made her think of Caleb Yates.

The affairs between her and Jack Yates couldn’t bypass Caleb Yates, after all, it was Caleb Yates who brought her to The Yates Family, leading to Jack Yates forcibly claiming her.

Since the day Caleb Yates called her and Jack Yates angrily smashed her phone, she hasn’t received any calls from Caleb Yates.

She didn’t know if Caleb Yates stopped contacting her or if Jack Yates prevented him, but either way, she preferred maintaining the current situation.

As her thoughts wandered, the phone beside her pillow suddenly rang. She picked it up to check; it was an unfamiliar number from Vintara.

Uncertain whether it was a family member or an old classmate, she pressed to answer.

"Hello, may I ask..."

Before she could finish, Harold Leonard’s voice came through, "Renee Winslow, it’s me, Harold Leonard."

Renee Winslow’s heart skipped a beat, instinctively wanting to hang up.

Harold Leonard chuckled roguishly, "Don’t be scared, junior, rest assured, I won’t spill the beans."

Annoyed, Renee Winslow retorted, "It wouldn’t matter if you did, Jack Yates is my boyfriend, we’re properly in a relationship."

Jack Yates was standing outside the bedroom door, initially preparing to enter, but when he heard her say "Jack Yates is my boyfriend," his hand already on the door, he quietly withdrew it.

Renee Winslow focused on the call, unaware that Jack Yates was right outside.

Harold Leonard asked, "How did you meet the Third Young Master Yates?"

Renee Winslow knew Harold Leonard doubted her legitimate romantic involvement with Jack Yates. She didn’t need to explain further; people could think what they wanted, it wouldn’t affect her. Normally, she’d hang up on such matters.

Yet at this moment, she didn’t hang up immediately, instead she responded to Harold Leonard, laughingly said, "Of course at school, during the anniversary event. As a student council officer, I was responsible for hosting some leaders, and got to know him."

Harold Leonard remained skeptical, but continued with a laugh, "Don’t overthink, junior. I’m not calling to gossip, after all we are still..."

Renee Winslow: "Enough talking, my boyfriend’s finished his meeting, we’re going out for dinner."

She hung up, tossed the phone to the foot of the bed, and let out a playful groan.

At that moment, Jack Yates entered, walked to the bed and leaned down, his nose brushed her cheek, and he gravely asked, "Did we meet at the anniversary event?"

Renee Winslow tensed, hadn’t expected Jack Yates to eavesdrop on her call. She felt a bit annoyed but didn’t show it or bring it up; really dwelling on it would only frustrate her.

She raised an arm to wrap around Jack Yates’s neck, pouting, "Otherwise what can I say? I can’t say you forcibly took me from your nephew Caleb Yates..."

Before she could finish, Jack Yates kissed her, silencing her.

Jack Yates looked at her fiercely, gazing into her bright and dark eyes, biting her lips hard, leaving them flushed and deep red.

Renee Winslow regretted mentioning Caleb Yates, it was indeed a forbidden topic between her and Jack Yates.

Sure enough, Jack Yates gripped her waist tightly, coldly questioned through clenched teeth, "Still thinking of Caleb Yates?"

Renee Winslow shook her head, "No, I’m not thinking about him."

Jack Yates lowered his head to nibble her neck, then kissed her ear, his sharp lips pressed against her ear as he asked, "Caleb Yates’s skills or mine?"

Renee Winslow wasn’t infuriated by the question, instead she was stunned, never expected Jack Yates to ask such a thing!

She felt surprised and slightly puzzled, "When I was first with you, didn’t you realize?"

It didn’t make sense, guys of Jack Yates’s status should’ve been with women before, unless he’s ascetic by nature.

Yet he’s evidently quite passionate, how could he not have been with other women before her?

Someone as smart as Jack Yates, having been with other women should surely tell if she was inexperienced!

But he didn’t realize it, implying he hadn’t been with other women before her.

Thinking this, Renee Winslow didn’t know whether to be angry or amused, her lips twitched up then down.

Renee Winslow sighed helplessly, reaching up to stroke the top of Jack Yates’s head, her hand pressing his neck, guiding his head onto her shoulder, soothingly caressed the back of his head.

"I can’t answer that, because besides you, I haven’t been with anyone else and there’s no comparison to make."

To prevent Jack Yates from being suspicious and easily upset with her over this, Renee Winslow decided to let him eat a permanent reassurance pill.

"Jack Yates, in a strict sense, you’re my first love, Caleb Yates and I were merely nominally dating, and weren’t together for long, apart from him holding my hand, we had no intimate contact. You were my first kiss, and my first time."

Jack Yates felt quite satisfied with Renee Winslow’s answer, though he couldn’t completely verify its truth.

"Renee Winslow." He turned to kiss her, his hand on her waist softly kneading, "I don’t care who you were with before, but from now on you can only be mine, for the rest of your life, you can only be with me, both your body and heart can only belong to me."
