My Possessive CEO: Trembling in His Arms
Chapter 42: You Can’t Bear My Wrath
CHAPTER 42: CHAPTER 42: YOU CAN’T BEAR MY WRATH
Renee Winslow had something on her mind, making her a bit distracted even when she acted in emotional scenes. Even her kiss with Jack Yates felt absent-minded, which thoroughly infuriated him.
Jack Yates drove the car to an empty field. After parking it, he first unbuckled his own seatbelt and then turned to unbuckle Renee Winslow’s seatbelt.
Renee Winslow looked at him anxiously and confusedly: "Third, Third Brother..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Jack Yates pulled her up and forcefully hugged her tight.
Sitting facing him on his lap, Renee Winslow looked at him with a heart pounding like a drum. She smiled at him and asked calmly, "What’s wrong, Third Brother, are you in a bad mood?"
Jack Yates’s sharp and determined face tensed up, the jawline sharp and cold. He squinted his eyes and asked in a deep voice, "Renee Winslow, I’m asking you one last time, are you hiding anything from me?"
Renee Winslow lowered her eyes: "Since you already know, why bother asking again."
Jack Yates forcefully pinched her face, his thumb harshly rubbing her lips: "What did I do wrong to you, hmm?"
Renee Winslow slightly tilted her head due to his grip, feeling as if her jawbone would be crushed by him. She forcibly endured the physiological tears from the pain and replied softly yet calmly, "You’ve been very good to me."
Jack Yates growled coldly, "Then why do you meet Caleb Yates secretly? Why? Hmm? Why!"
The last "why" came out with a vicious bite on his molars, almost roaring.
Renee Winslow was shaken to the core by his roar but forced herself to stay calm: "I didn’t meet him secretly, I just saw him by chance while walking."
Jack Yates let go of her face but grabbed her soft waist that even his hand couldn’t fully wrap around: "Why didn’t you walk away when you saw him? Why did you purposely approach him? Why would you talk to him?"
His three continuous "whys" were filled with immense anger.
Renee Winslow patiently explained, "I’m in Moravia, a strange country, and also a country frequently at war. Suddenly seeing one of my own people, a former classmate at that, I went to ask him why he was here. I don’t think it’s inappropriate; it’s human nature. Anyone would do this. I didn’t purposely catch up with him, nor did I say anything beyond normal male-female interaction. Since you know I spoke with Caleb Yates, you must know what I said to him."
Jack Yates sneered, "Did he hug you or not?"
Renee Winslow fell silent; she couldn’t argue this point. Caleb Yates did hug her at the time, primarily to pull her behind a bush to hide from Jack Yates.
Originally, they thought this event would go unnoticed, believing Jack Yates wouldn’t find out. Who could have known Jack’s eyes were so sharp that she now suspected he had a tracker installed on her?
Seeing she didn’t even try to defend herself, Jack Yates got even angrier, tightening his grip on her waist: "Which hand did he use to hold you?" Speaking, he rubbed her waist vigorously, "Was it the waist or somewhere else?"
Renee Winslow, in a defeated tone, replied, "You decide. Wherever you think it was, that’s where it is."
When she said this, her voice remained soft and calm, without a trace of anger.
Jack Yates grabbed her waist with both hands, turning her around suddenly to face the windshield, his long fingers pressing in hard.
Renee Winslow bit her lower lip to suppress tears, not speaking, not making a sound, her gaze cold and defiant, eyes filled with deep hatred.
Jack Yates lowered his head, kissing her wildly.
Renee Winslow pursed her lips in silence, giving no response.
Jack Yates, angered, lightly bit her.
Renee Winslow finally cursed him: "Jack Yates, you madman!"
Jack Yates turned her face, looking at her tearful eyes, lifting a hand to gently touch her eye corners: "Renee Winslow, don’t let there be a next time, don’t let me know you still have feelings for Caleb Yates. Otherwise..."
Renee Winslow felt no emotions for Caleb Yates at all, let alone lingering feelings, but at this moment, she also got angry, deliberately confronting Jack Yates, lifting her chin to retort, "Otherwise what?"
Jack Yates smirked, his smile both cold and roguish: "You can’t afford to bear my anger, so don’t provoke me."
