Chapter 34: Lady Elena
CHAPTER 34: LADY ELENA
They locked eyes for a few seconds before Silva finally spoke, "Stacy," he called her name.
"Hey, Silva." She returned the greeting and walked closer. She looked down, as if avoiding his face. "I heard you survived the gate, I was happy about that," she said.
Silva looked at her. He couldn’t describe what he felt toward her. It wasn’t hate, he didn’t despise her even in the slightest, but it was like he couldn’t even begin to be bothered about her.
"Yeah, I got lucky," he responded, keeping it short. She looked up.
"Since we haven’t seen each other for a long time, how about we grab something to eat together, for old times’ sake?"
’For old times’ sake, huh? How easily you say that,’ Silva thought, but on the outside, he had a smile. "Sure, that would be great. I’m done with my business here, so when you are done we can leave," he said.
"Oh, we can leave now. I just had some cores I wanted to sell, but I can do that later," she said.
"Alright then, that’s fine," he responded and headed for the door. She walked beside him, trying not to look at him.
’Did he change over time? He looks taller, he looks better,’ she thought, glancing from time to time.
They got on the elevator and headed down to the bottom floor. The moment they stepped out, they saw the bottom floor was crowded.
"What’s happening here?" he muttered. Stacy looked at the people. They had on some kind of black and gold coat with an emblem on it, a Phoenix. She immediately knew who they were.
"They are from the Rising Phoenix guild," she muttered.
"Hmm, really? I guess the news did say they would be coming to this town," Silva muttered and was about to keep walking when a group of about ten people walked in the direction of the elevator.
The one leading the group was a stunning lady, tall, silver-blonde hair, silver eyes, pale skin that looked as if it was washed in milk. She had on a long silver and gold coat, different from the rest.
Each step looked trained and controlled down to the smallest detail.
Silva stepped to the side. Stacy bowed immediately as they passed as a sign of respect, but Silva stood watching. One of the men in the group saw this and immediately turned toward Silva.
He grabbed him by the collar and pulled him close. He was tall and well-built, a buzz cut and deep brown intimidating eyes.
"Why are you not lowering your head when in the presence of the Rising Phoenix guild and Lady Elena Grimhold?" he roared, his voice intimidating everyone there, but not Silva.
Silva looked into his eyes. There was no hint of fear on his face.
’I have seen Minotaurs with higher intimidation than this. But then again, why the hell is this man holding me like this?’ Silva got angry, he grabbed the hand and looked the man right in the eye.
"Why the hell are you holding me? What gives you the right to do that? Because you are from some guild?" Silva asked.
Everyone was stunned. Did this kid just talk back to someone from the lead team of the Rising Phoenix guild?
The man looked at Silva, a fire burning in his eyes. "You vermin," he cursed. He tried to lift Silva off the ground, but Silva immediately used Minotaur’s Rage. His strength increased, he gripped the hand with both hands now and looked right into the man’s eyes.
"You’ll get your hands off me now, or I’ll break them," Silva muttered.
’I’m tired of people that are stronger thinking they can do what they want to me. I am pissed at it, and I’ll be damned to hell if I let this human walk over me.’
Seeing that Silva wasn’t budging, the man let go of Silva’s hands and pulled away. He pulled out a massive one-sided greatsword right there in the guild.
Seeing this, Silva immediately equipped his gauntlets. The man was even more pissed when he saw that Silva was trying to fight back.
He launched forward, attacking at full speed.
CLANG.
The sword stopped midair. The man looked at his sword in shock, and then he saw that it was Elena who had blocked the attack, her slick and slim beautiful sword blocking his strike without issue.
She turned to look at the man, and fear gripped his heart when he saw her cold eyes.
"Andrew, Raze has stepped out of line. Make sure you punish him when we get back," she spoke. A tall, slim man with glasses nodded. "Understood, Lady Elena," he said and glanced at Raze.
Raze shivered the moment those eyes landed on him. He knew he was in deep shit. There was no need to try and defend himself. He returned his sword and bowed. "I’m sorry, Lady Elena," he said.
She looked away from him and returned her sword, then she looked at Silva. "Sorry for what my subordinate did to you," she said, and then pulled out a card.
"I am in a rush now, so I can’t make it up to you for what he did." She handed the card to him, a black card with some details on it.
"Contact me later, I’ll make it up to you then," she said and headed back to the elevator. Five of them entered first, along with Raze, who had to stay close to Andrew now.
Inside the elevator, Raze looked at his arm and saw the bruises from how Silva had held it. Elena looked at it and saw the wounds as well. Raze was no pushover,he was an A-ranked awakened that focused on strength and swordsmanship. So for Silva to bruise him, that was eyebrow-raising.
Silva, on the other hand, left the building with Stacy, heading for a small café close to the guild. She kept looking at him, wondering who Silva was anymore.
