CHAPTER 49: SWORD

The next day came fast. Silva was so burnt out that he actually slept in. He only woke up when Peter shook him awake. Silva got up and saw Peter standing there, his face holding a mix of emotions.

"I don’t know what to say, I got news from my mum. My brothers and father came back heavily beaten up yesterday.

Normally that would be something to get pissed about, but that’s not the case for me. I know you did it, so I’m grateful, because for the first time they felt what they did to me." Peter said, then stretched out his fist.

Silva smiled and hit his fist with his own. He looked Peter in the eye, "I promised you I would help. Now get the hell out of my house, you have been here nearly a week." Silva said.

Peter was immediately stunned, "huhhhhhh? You just ruined a perfect bro moment, you shithead." Peter yelled.

"Go out and work, you are already healed up completely, so go and kill some monsters. If you want to stay here, we need money, funds, ain’t no way I’m allowing you to keep eating for free." Silva said.

"Screw you, you suck." Peter said, but then he smirked, "but really, thank you."

"You’re welcome, bro." Silva replied.

[....]

After getting ready, Silva left the house. He was headed for the guild when he received a call, it was Elena.

"Hello."

(Silva, good morning.)

"Your tone sounds a little bit happier than usual."

(Well, seeing I made massive progress in the issue I’ve been chasing for nearly a year now, of course.)

(On that note, we managed to gather a good amount of cores that they took from the victims they caught.

Our guild makes use of all those cores, so if you’d like we could sell them to you at the standard price.)

"Really? That’s great, thank you."

(You did a lot for us, it’s only right that we appreciate you a little.)

(Text your account details and all the money will be sent to you.)

"I will, but before that, I have something that I think you might be interested in. I came across it in a dungeon, a fire orb that doubles a fire mage’s output."

(What? Are you joking?)

"No, I have it."

(Come over, like right now and bring the orb with you.)

’She sounds a little bit excited, I guess the orb is really valuable.’

"Alright, I’ll get a taxi now, I’ll see you in a few."

He cut the call and asked for a ride there. When he arrived at the building, he was shocked to see her and Maceew standing outside.

"You came to meet me yourself?" Silva asked.

"Don’t ask too many questions, we can’t talk about it now. Let’s head to my office." She said and walked in. Silva followed behind. Andrew gave him a cold look as they walked, but Silva didn’t care, he just swaggered his way through the building.

They got to the office and immediately she turned around, "where’s the orb, can I see it?" she asked.

"Uhm yeah." He pulled out the orb. The two of them looked at it, their eyes shining when they realized it was true. She took it from him and held it in her hands.

"If this orb seriously buffs the power of a fire mage by double, it can sell for at least five million credits at the lowest and go up to ten million." She said.

"Wait, what?" Silva asked, his eyes widened.

"You mean to say you found this in a D-ranked gate?" Andrew asked.

"Yeah, I used my sensing to find a room and there I found an undead that used the orb." He explained.

"That dungeon does have mage undeads and many orbs have been found, but they mostly increase by two percent or three.

Something like what you found is simply a treasure." Elena explained.

"We’ll have someone verify the strength and then we’ll talk pricing." She said.

"Hmm, okay."

’Wait, I’ve wanted to see what my weapons are worth as well, maybe I should show them one.’

"Hey, I still have one thing I want you two to see. You can’t ask where I got it from and you can’t press me for the information." He said and then pulled out the sword he used to end that cult.

He showed it to her, the black metal, the beautiful purple patterns. She stared at the sword for a full five seconds, then she stretched her hand and touched the tip and it sliced into her skin, only from a touch.

Her eyes lit up, she immediately grabbed the handle of the sword and held it up straight.

"How did you get this?" She asked.

"No no, we agreed, you can’t ask me." He said.

"Oh, sorry, I couldn’t help myself. This sword is amazing, no, it’s beyond amazing. I paid over a hundred million credits to have my custom sword made for me, and yet this sword somehow has sharpness and balance close to mine." She said and then allowed mana to flow into it, and the flow was beautiful.

"The mana flow is the only point where it lacks compared to mine. This sword is a treasure, and in the right hand it can actually become a massive weapon of destruction." She turned to look at him.

"I really want to know where you got it, but I won’t ask. This sword would cost fifty million credits to make. I want to buy this, but I don’t have the money for that. If you are willing to sell though, I can show it to the major stakeholders, and have a bidding for it." She said, there was an eagerness in her eyes.

"Hmm, not for now, I’d like to keep it. I know you’ll try to hide my information, but I’m very sure there are people that can still find it out. So until I’m strong enough to defend myself, I don’t want such a massive issue." Silva said.
