CHAPTER 55: METALLIC BODY

"Hahahahaha, this is good," one of the men said as he pulled one of the party members down with his chain.

"Tsk, don’t be happy yet. Remember what happened a few days back? One of our gatherings was infiltrated and lots of our brethren were captured and killed," the leader said. He grabbed the hair of the lady from the three-man party and pulled her up.

She struggled, but she had no power to free herself.

"Forget about what happened, boss. Last time, those idiots allowed the Rising Phoenix guild to get them. That’s what happens when weaker people are asked to handle rituals," the third one said.

"Boys, are you done already? The masters want us to have a successful ritual, we should get going," one of the ladies said.

"Tch, you guys sit and do nothing, waiting for us to do the work. It was because of you two that that group of lizardmen came for us," one of the men said.

"Exactly, we would have died if not for that wandering awakened with a hero complex," the second said.

"Exactly, who just decides to jump into a fight that has nothing to do with them?" one of the ladies said.

"I guess helping people isn’t welcomed in this time anymore," Silva spoke.

They turned, wanting to see who came. When they saw Silva, they were shocked.

"You didn’t die? How did you not die?" one of the men asked.

"Well, you see, I killed the lizardmen, fueled with anger from the betrayal from you five. Tsk, tsk, tsk, to think that those I saved would turn against me.

Not only that, you are part of the cult. I guess that explains a lot," he said with a smile.

When they heard him speak about the cult, panic showed on their faces. They pointed at him.

"How did you know that?" the leader asked.

"Dead men have no business knowing all that," he said. His smile turned more evil as he launched at them.

"Stop him!" the leader yelled. The two men launched forward. The first took out a metallic whip; it crackled with lightning.

"At least you lot have some skill, unlike those ones," Silva said. The lightning whip came crackling toward him, but he dodged the attack, watching as the lightning twisted and crackled. His eyes shifted to the man as he slashed upward with a claw strike.

The man reacted late. He leaped out of the way, but it grazed his arm, tearing it deeply. Blood splattered all around.

"Arghhhhhh!" he groaned in pain. Silva pushed forward, but the second man was already in range and attacking. He wielded a black sword and swung it with all his strength.

The speed was twice as fast as normal. Silva could already tell that the second man had some sort of physical ability. That speed was inhuman, but luckily for Silva, his sensing allowed him to predict most attacks.

He dodged the sword and grabbed the man’s hand. His claws dug deeply into the arm. He pulled him in and headbutted him right in the head, breaking his nose. His blood created a trail in the air as he staggered backward.

Both men stood there badly wounded, but not giving up. They both attacked again.

"Rachael, provide them support," the leader spoke. He had a deep frown on his face as he watched Silva fight. He could tell that Silva was more skilled than both men and also had top-notch gear. If they wanted to kill him, they needed more.

One of the ladies got to her feet, cracked her knuckles, and stretched out her hands. Fire arrows formed above her head and started firing at Silva.

"Shit," he cursed when he felt them. He kicked one of the men away and ran. One of the flame arrows came for him, but he swung his fist and slammed it away. The gauntlet was impervious to magical attacks.

He rolled behind a broken wall, leaning his back against it as more and more arrows slammed into the wall.

"Honestly, why am I fighting these guys? I know it’s not to save those three. No, it’s to give them a good ass whooping, and I haven’t done that."

He flipped over the wall, his feet hitting the ground as he launched forward like a rocket. Rachael began attacking with more arrows, but this time he dodged, moving left and right, his senses working in overdrive to pick up every single one that came his way.

He got through it, looked the lady in the eye, and attacked with a claw strike.

CLANG!

The attack was blocked by the leader with his chest. He ripped off his shirt, revealing a metallic body.

"I’ll take care of you," he said and lunged forward. Every step shook the ground. He leaped into the air, clasped both hands together, and swung down with a hammer fist.

Silva kicked back and dodged the fist, his eyes locked on him.

"You think your metal shell will help? Give me your best shot," he taunted.

"Arghhhhh!" the man launched at Silva. He threw the first hook, Silva didn’t dodge. He stood there and raised his arm at the last moment. The fist slammed into the gauntlet. His body bent in an unconventional manner, but he blocked the attack fully and charged the first gauntlet.

The second hook came in hot, and Silva did the same. Only this time, he allowed himself to get thrown back after blocking it, giving him enough time to utilize them.

The man came rushing at full force only to be met with a powerful strike as Silva punched. The first blow slammed into his chest, making him cough up a huge amount of blood. The second slammed into his chest, shattering his ribs and shaking him side to side like a canned drink.

He collapsed to the ground and coughed up a huge amount of blood. He looked up and saw Silva looking down at him with a smirk.
