CHAPTER 1487: CHAPTER 1486: FIRST ARRIVALS (1)

After that chat with Cali, Jahi and I had a bit more of an in depth talk on what it meant exactly and how far I was - and how far she was willing to - going to go with this, which just had us come to one agreed upon conclusion.

I could run a more ’up scale, fancy and proper’ business where the main product was some sort of pleasure, all while dressing myself up in the sort of things that would attract the attention needed in said sort of place, but I would never actually be involved in anything.

Obviously, of course, but on top of the very clear warning that I was never to get close to a customer Jahi also made it clear that she didn’t want me to even entertain most customers to begin with, just trading words here or there if necessary.

On top of all of this she also reminded me that this was something that was going to need the agreement from our other two wives as well, though on that end I was confident that Anput would be intrigued enough while Leone would see the necessity of it.

Besides, there was the promise of ’personal shows’ and the like that could get them all to come to terms with this, but it wasn’t even like we were going to be doing this anytime soon since we didn’t even have the first arrivals just yet.

Speaking of, the Clans - or more specifically Belian - sent another letter informing us of their approximate arrival, which would apparently include a handful of merchants that would want to look around and ask us a few questions as well as a pair of ’contacts’ that we could make use of between us and the Clans.

The merchants would help handle all of our wants while the contacts would help us fulfill our needs, so long as we were aware of the ’price’ that would come along with it; there were a few things that we were promised we wouldn’t have to worry about asking for, but Belian also made it abundantly clear that there was going to be a line we could cross when asking for things.

I was somewhat intrigued in figuring out just where that line was located and how close I could get to it before crossing it, but I also wasn’t going to risk anything just yet, not when we were dealing with someone like Belian.

Starting out deeper into debt would be a horrible move for us, though the thing was I had no idea just how much money we were able to produce on a daily basis since the materials we harvested could be used by both Anput and Leone to create new things.

All of the potions and salves would fetch a nice bit of coin on their own while all of Anput’s gear would get basic enchantments from me to then be sold at a premium, so although I was worried about the idea of debt I don’t know if I actually needed to worry about it that much...

But why risk something when you can just completely avoid that risk altogether, right?

So I drafted up a list of things we needed, things we wanted and also took a look into what we had on hand to barter away, all while also trying to guesstimate just how much we could potentially bring in through any products we sold.

The problem with that was I didn’t know how low I could go without being stupid for lowballing everything nor how high I could go without being stupid for overpricing everything drastically, so that thought exercise was canned rather quickly.

With that I didn’t have much to do in these remaining days besides just give my help wherever it was needed, continue doing my chores and also enjoying some alone time to bask in the sun and read some books or practice.

I was also being asked quite regularly to help relieve my wives of their urges whenever they required it, and obviously that meant I had little free time at all since all three of them were always raring to go.

Even Leone kept me locked in her laboratory one day for three hours as she just used me incessantly, which shocked all of us since she usually couldn’t muster the ’courage’ to do that; we later found out she concocted a stamina potion and was technically under the influence, but that didn’t matter to me at all~!

Each day just ticked by slowly but surely, leaving me feeling a bit conflicted since on one hand the peace was incredible and super refreshing, but on the other time just seemed to be slipping away as every single day started blending together into this amazing, relaxing stream of nothingness.

Honestly I couldn’t complain, and even when there were noticeable moments of either irritation at one of my wives or one project or another giving me a bit of a beating I still felt like this was some of the best time I had ever spent.

That earlier feeling crept back with a vengeance because of that, and sadly I was proven right... just not in the way that I had been thinking when I first started feeling ’odd’.

My plight came not as a Fiend or some horde of monsters, nor as a group of bandits that wanted to ransack us; no weather phenomenon swept across the plains nor did our house suddenly collapse...

Instead, with the arrival of the giant caravan of people coming to settle into our new city, I saw a certain Demoness that I really didn’t want to see, one that had me gritting my teeth as actual anger took me over.

That long leather coat that hid dozens of blades strapped to that lithe body was all too familiar, let alone the arrogant, haughty smirk that remained on her face even now...

Leading the caravan towards our new home was the red skinned bitch herself, Satanya, meaning that Belian must have decided to further groom the insufferable Demoness for his spot by having her come here and start shoring up the relations between the Clans and us.
