CHAPTER 1491: CHAPTER 1490: ACCOMMODATIONS

One after another each merchant put forwards their terms and negotiated for exactly what they wanted while giving up a few things here or there whenever we made it clear we wouldn’t budge on it.

The budget was getting to an unknown amount currently since we had to deal with the food, drink and other necessities that these merchants were going to be expecting upon each return to the city, so our money problem was only growing.

Yet at the same time we had a solution for it since we now had access to these merchants; in a way they were funding their own stay here since I was going to be ensuring Anput sold everything she didn’t actually need while also having Leone brew up at least two batches of good potions per week.

If they did that we could have an easy stream of good money coming in whenever merchants visited, and on top of that the moment we started up this city’s economy properly the money that was going to flow would be good as well.

The location of our city was perfect for adventurers since it was so close to a few Dungeons, which when advertised properly and studied for their ’grade’ would draw in all sorts of hopefuls who wanted to make money.

But to make that money they needed to spend a little on their lodgings, food, potions, additional weapons and other gear, which they would then make back after they hunted down a few monsters.

With the various merchants happy to have acquired their own spaces, necessities and adequate market deals we were all rather happy, and with the promise that their current lodgings would be upgraded as soon as possible they were all willing to explore the beginnings of the city while we worked to get everything finished.

Of course some of them wanted specific rooms so we began to take note of who went where before sending them on their way, returning to the main hall with Satanya and Nakith so that we could get a briefing on everything else that was happening.

"The furniture is outside ready to be brought in, though I am sad to say it is nowhere near enough to get everything furnished. We have enough for the new arrivals and no one else... so if you were planning on giving this to the merchants..."

That made me sigh while Jahi rubbed her chin, thinking it over and clearly weighing the pros and cons of just taking some of the furniture for the merchants to make them happy... only to turn back to Anput and I as she thought of something else.

"We have a surplus of wooden planks, and although it won’t be terribly special we can utilize their own bedrolls over a wooden frame to serve as a ’real’ bed for the time being. All we need to do is create said frames, which shouldn’t be an issue for you two. Cut everything to length and just make simple frames.

While you two do that I’ll go ahead and start organizing our new citizens and getting them settled in properly. Nakith, you can help them with this, right? While Satanya and I deal with them you three can do that, bring the furniture into the Merchant Hall and get them settled in. Should be simple enough?"

As much as I didn’t want them to be alone together I reluctantly agreed and beckoned for my mate to come with me immediately, since the sooner we got this done the sooner we would be able to return to her side and ensure Satanya didn’t overstep her bounds.

With that we parted ways from one another, with the level headed Cimeriesa futanari joining Anput and I outside as we pulled out the rest of our wood and got to work, using the size of the rooms to determine how large the beds should be.

Having to explain to the Cimeriesa that the bracelets we had were not for sale, were not going to ever leave our possession and were from the Labyrinthian took some time, but we were able to work and talk without issue...

For the most part anyways since Nakith was adamant about seeing us pull something into the bracelet before letting it back out again, her eyes lighting up with an innocent sort of joy and curiosity as she begged to see it again and again.

When she finally calmed down and reluctantly accepted that she wouldn’t ever have this herself she began to help us with the woodworking, taking the freshly cut planks from me and working together with Anput to nail them into the bed frames that we were hoping for.

Seven identical bed frames took us a little over half an hour to construct, and we even ’tested’ them by laying down on them ourselves, which immediately had me sigh as I took out my Magic Pen and started enchanting the wood, bolstering its strength and making sure it wouldn’t break no matter how much weight was put on it.

By a normal load, anyways, and I even went ahead and added some self cleaning enchantments as well as a water resistant enchantment that would keep them from getting damaged easily... for whatever reason, of course.

That took another half hour or so to do, and by the time they were done we needed to spend another half hour getting them into the rooms, situated right and even making a few adjustment to the headboard and footboard.

Giving them a little height and some extra thickness helped make them a bit more suitable for all of the merchants, allowing for extra pillows that wouldn’t spill over the top as well as keeping their feet from spilling over too.

The chat as we worked was completely average too, with Nakith taking a precaution to just keep it about everything yet nothing at the same time, avoiding the more pointed questions and asking her own that we didn’t want to answer either.

Most likely being done on purpose while Satanya wasn’t around, and it was definitely something that Belian asked of her since this was a bit different then what I remembered from her... or maybe she was treating this differently since we were now ’City Lords’ or whatever...
