CHAPTER 251: FOOL!?

Zarek fell into the abyss with vacant eyes.

His body remained utterly responsive, and his senses immediately detected another shot of concentrated divine energy hurtling toward him.

’Quickly adapt already.’

He prayed hurriedly in his heart. If another attack struck him, even he wasn’t sure he’d have the consciousness to restore his body to its prime state.

Just as the blast was about to land, a blue prompt appeared in the corner of his vision:

[You have resisted a low-level divine pressure.]

[You have gained an exclusive skill bound to Adapt: Divinity Resistance.]

[You have resisted a mid-level concentrated blast.]

[You have gained an exclusive skill bound to Adapt: Divinity Affinity.]

...

Divinity Resistance

You are slightly more resistant to attacks imbued with Divine Energy.

Divinity Affinity

Your body has an affinity for divine energy; you can freely absorb it and control it to a certain degree.

...

The first skill he gained came from resisting the pressure, and the second from enduring the blast.

"Damn," Zarek muttered, excited to see the new skills.

Just then, the second blow, equally powerful as before, mercilessly was about to land on his back.

However, this time, a bright golden light erupted the moment the blast struck his body, filling the entire abyss with its radiance.

The woman floating in the air frowned at the sight, her eyes widening incredulously. "This man..."

As if to confirm her disbelief, a prime and pristine Zarek revealed, completely unharmed!

Right now, he was floating in the void itself, standing on a platform made purely of divine energy.

"This feeling... it’s incredible," Zarek muttered, clenching his fist with a gleam of satisfaction.

Then he locked eyes with the woman made entirely of energy before him and shot through the air, leaping straight at her.

"I will end you," he sneered.

The woman tried to back away but suddenly felt a strange force pulling her, an energy drawing her in, compelling her forward.

She stared in disbelief at Zarek’s palms.

"This... this..." Her entire body, made of glittering gold, was being drawn toward Zarek’s palm.

In that moment, her entire body seemed frozen in time to any spectator, though in reality the process was only accelerating.

It was like an object caught too close to a black hole, appearing to freeze in time itself, utterly motionless.

Her eyes grew desperate as she struggled to break free, but every move, every effort, was completely useless beneath Zarek’s palm.

She couldn’t even speak.

Zarek regarded her helplessness with a chuckle. "You should have captured me the instant you saw me. But you, foolish enough to believe in your own pitiful power, allowed me far too much time."

"But I have to say, your presence is definitely stronger than Mirabella’s. Unfortunately, I have a broken skill."

The woman felt bitter, extremely bitter.

Regret lingered in her mind, but she was helpless and couldn’t do anything about it.

Unlike Mirabella, who was fully prepared for Zarek, she was conceited.

And conceitness had led to her downfall even though she was stronger than Mirabella.

"Hmph. Still, you think I can be so easily defeated?" Her tone dripped with disdain as she allowed him to absorb her without resistance.

Zarek immediately felt the overwhelming Divine Energy coursing through his body.

It overflowed like a broken dam, and his body quickly began to suffer injuries.

But, despite the pain, Zarek remained puzzled as he uttered aloud:

"Is this woman stupid?"

"W-What did you call me?" the woman shouted, her voice trembling with fury. "You’re dead."

In a flash, her entire body transformed into divine energy and shot forward, piercing into Zarek’s body.

Zarek took it like a champ. Despite the overwhelming pain coursing through every nerve, he stood firm with closed eyes, as if nothing had happened.

After a moment, the chaos within him settled. Slowly, he opened his eyes, revealing those boundless blue pupils once more, though now tinged with a flicker of confusion.

’Is this woman truly an idiot?’

The thought amused him deeply, but at the same time, a strange sensation crept in, like a trap tightening around his heart, something felt fishy or she was truly an idiot, for a moment, he was a little uncertain. Suddenly, a blue prompt appeared within him.

[You have absorbed a mid-level divine spirit]

[You have gained an exclusive skill bound to Adapt: Divine Body]

...

Divine Body

Your body gets stronger the more divine energy is stored in your body.

...

Zarek squinted at the description. Depending on the ratio of how much his body could be strengthened, this skill could either be broken or absolutely garbage.

While thinking, the platform beneath him, made entirely out of divine energy, moved and he landed on the ground again.

When Zarek resisted the second blast, he also absorbed its divine energy and the divine energy of the first blast, and luckily he was able to revert his body’s state back again.

This is how he was able to so easily beat her. Zarek walked forward with his blue pupils gleaming:

"Now that I have solved her—"

Suddenly, his legs grew weak and he ragdolled to the ground in the next instant with a thud.

’Eh!?’ Zarek closed his eyes and became unconscious soon after.

The next moment, he was surrounded by countless women dressed in thin and revealing clothes; they were looking at Zarek with fierce gazes.

Zarek walked up to them with a blush on his face. Then, just as he closed in on them, he suddenly shot forward his fist and destroyed the skull of one of the women.

He punched and kicked, destroying every woman in front of him quickly, slaughtering them like a cruel monster.

After he slaughtered them all, his vision changed again.

His eyes landed on a beautiful woman with long, flowing blue hair:

"Human, how did you break through my illusion so soon?"

"I knew it, you weren’t so stupid after all." Zarek nodded to himself.

"What if I was stupid?"

"I would be disappointed."
