CHAPTER 31: I’M GONNA BE RICH!?

The Mimic Stones came from a deadly Abyssal Creature known as the Mirror Raccoon because it could mirror one’s abilities and talent. Fighting it felt like one was fighting themselves.

Because of that, these stones were rather hard to get for people like Leon but quite easy for Amber, who occasionally wandered around the Corrupted Land.

"It can’t fool everyone though," Leon said.

"True. But are you going to slow down your progress?" Amber asked.

"It will certainly be slower because I am reaching higher levels, but not that slow," Leon shook his head.

"Then, it’s all good. We’ll just do a play and tell the whole world that you got a mutated Grade 7 or Grade 8 Talent," Amber smiled and said. "Since you’ll match the progress of that Talent, it won’t make them suspicious, and even if they want to check, I can assure you that unless they check themselves, they won’t find anything."

She grinned and added, "This one came from a special mimic and can even fool the Artefacts and machines. So you’ll be okay."

"That’s great!" Leon exclaimed. "I’ll take the Grade 7 Talent. Grade 8 will just cause more troubles."

"You really are too suspicious of humanity," Amber chuckled softly.

"Maybe I read too many novels," Leon said, scratching his chin in embarrassment. He really had this great paranoia, so he couldn’t help but be cautious.

"It’s fine. Just remember what I said before," Amber said half-jokingly. "If there are people out there who want to exploit you, there are also people who will support you. The coin always has two sides and both are important."

"I will remember that." Leon nodded and said.

"Good, then we shouldn’t waste any more time," Amber said before she raised her hand and pushed the stone into his chest as all the colours disappeared into his body.

He grimaced slightly as he felt the pain of having his chest ripped out, as if someone was hollowing his ribs. But this pain didn’t even come close to what he experienced because of his Dungeon, so he didn’t even flinch.

As the stone sank into his chest, Amber’s smile stiffened because she was paying full attention to his reaction.

’So he didn’t lie when he said that it will only harm him. If you’re resistant to this much pain so early... what are you even going through?’ Amber thought with complicated emotions surging inside her.

She quickly hid her emotions and smiled as she took a step backwards and said, "All done. Now whenever someone checks, they’ll find a Grade 7 Talent in your body."

"We’ll announce it after the Dungeon Raid," Leon said. Just then, he remembered something and took out a small glass vial and pushed it towards Amber.

"What is that?" Amber asked in confusion.

"I was researching this for a while and finally succeeded, so I wanted to ask you if I’m right or not," Leon smiled and said. "It’s a Potion which suppresses one’s Corruption. You know the value of it."

Amber’s eyes widened in shock, and she stared at the purple liquid in disbelief. If what Leon said was true, then this could be a groundbreaking invention that would help the whole of humanity by a lot.

It would take them to new heights.

"You... you do know the value of this, right? Are you sure you’re right on this?" Amber asked, as she still found it hard to believe.

One had to know that the main problem women faced was Corruption being accumulated inside them from leveling so much. A large number of women died because they couldn’t suppress that Corruption anymore.

No one had been able to find a solution to that, and each year, so many people died due to Corruption. That also became the reason many women hesitated to advance.

Advancement meant more power to Corruption, and if they failed to suppress it, then they would become deadly monsters who would hunt their own loved ones.

The only way they could deal with it was by their own Will Power and strength.

But now there was a way to suppress that Corruption. Even if it was small, it would be a huge breakthrough, so it was natural Amber would be in disbelief.

After all, if one was able to suppress the Corruption, then they would also have the chance to purify it.

This would overturn the world.

"Why don’t you try it?" Leon asked. "But remember that there’s only one bottle for now. The ingredients were hard to find and I also failed a lot of times before I got the right formula."

In fact, the only reason he even succeeded was because this Purifying Potion was added much later in the game, so he was very familiar with it.

Amber tried to contain her excitement and opened the lid before taking out a single drop of purple liquid. It didn’t emit any fragrance or any energy fluctuations. It was no different than ordinary liquid.

Still, Amber handled it with care and swallowed that drop and closed her eyes. Warmth spread in her body for a moment before everything returned to normal.

"It works!!" Amber exclaimed in shock.

It had minuscule effect, but she clearly felt the drop soothing the Corruption inside her and suppressing it. It was only for a moment, but she had been paying full attention to it.

How could she miss something like that?

Amber had to try hard to contain her excitement, and the way she looked at Leon also changed. This man was really a genius, and for a moment, she felt she should just kick him out of her class.

After all, he had brain and was more suited for the research department. His new invention just proved it.

But then she dispelled the idea.

She wasn’t someone who would meddle in others’ decisions. Besides, Leon was progressing quickly too.

"I’ll help you get the patent for this. You don’t need to do anything," Amber was beaming in joy as she said. "But do you want to mass release or not?"

"Is that even a question? Of course, I want to do that. I worked hard in making it so that I can help everyone. We are already losing against the Corruption, so we need everything to win." Leon shrugged lightly at her question.

"Then, do you want the world to know who invented this potion? Or would you like to remain anonymous?"
