My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World
Chapter 35: Best Baseballer!!
CHAPTER 35: BEST BASEBALLER!!
Leon found himself surrounded by seven Burning Skeletons who instantly launched attacks. Swords, spears, clubs—all came toward him at an uncanny speed.
However, he remained calm and activated his Iron Skin to soften the blows. And that it did, but the force behind the impact still shook his body.
He didn’t remain idle, as he threw one of his swords to his right and sent a solid uppercut to his left. It connected with the jaw of a skeleton, and with a crack, its skull flew into the air and the skeleton collapsed.
His sword also embedded itself in the skull of another skeleton, and Leon used it to rip off the whole skull, which left only five Burning Skeletons.
’Tsk! I need some heat-resistant skill,’ Leon clicked his tongue, as while his hands were fine under the protection of gloves, his fingers were still exposed and they almost got charred in the fire.
He swiftly ducked down to avoid the incoming attack of the spear and once again spun, severing the knees of all five skeletons.
Before he could kill them for good, he once again sensed danger and dodged to the side—and finally saw the urchin who was annoying him with ranged attacks.
As the fireball landed on his previous spot, Leon spotted a yellow humanoid figure, but it looked more like a burning yellow goblin due to its small stature.
It shifted slightly before throwing another fireball at him, just as more Burning Skeletons closed in. There were a lot of them since he had stopped moving for a while.
He sheathed his swords and finally took out his precious baseball bat. He smirked while putting the bat on his shoulder and shouted, "Denny! The skeletons are yours. I’mma handle these little fuckers."
Denver finally snapped out of the daze and didn’t waste a second in joining the battle. Although he had seen Leon killing them with ease, he didn’t overestimate himself and fought properly.
But it was still a very brutal display.
Denver didn’t seem to care about the fire burning him, as he dominantly destroyed one skull after another. Whenever he faced a much stronger opponent than him, he would back away and use different tactics to defeat them.
If even that proved tough, he would just change the target. Only after fighting these skeletons did he realize that Leon was way too strong compared to him.
But instead of being discouraged, he was motivated and fought even more valiantly. The best thing about these skeletons was the fact that they were slow and dumb, so Denver could utilize them for his own advantage.
Meanwhile, the girls were watching everything with interest, and Rani couldn’t help but comment upon seeing Leon’s display of power, "Is he even a man?"
"Right? I also wondered if he’s a girl disguised as a man, but he is a man. A terrifyingly handsome man," Natasha giggled.
"He’s not Tier 1 for sure," Rani said, and even she herself couldn’t believe her own words.
It sounded so ridiculous. How could any man progress so fast? It was even ridiculous by their standards, let alone for a man.
"Yup. I suspect that he’s already at Tier 2," Natasha chuckled and said. "We can ask him later on. For now, it’s good for us since he can help us even more now. He’s good in combat."
"Oh! Look, he’s going to fight the Lava Imps... wait! He’s seriously gonna use that bat? What the..."
The two followed her gaze and found Leon running toward the Lava Imp while smashing his bat against the Burning Skeletons.
Just one stroke was enough to crush their necks, and Leon always aimed for their necks knowing that it was their biggest weakness.
Just then, the girls saw the Lava Imp sending a fireball toward him, but Leon just smashed the fireball as if it were a sports ball.
The flames instantly spread to the sides, but Leon had already passed through that area and arrived before the Lava Imp before it could launch its next attack.
Then, he lined the bat before the imp and smashed its head, cracking the small ball acting as its center and core. He didn’t stay behind and jumped to the side before the Lava Imp could explode.
Fortunately, he was fast enough, as he felt terrible heat on his back and knew that he would have been severely injured from the explosion if he hadn’t dodged in time.
Leon smiled and kissed the bat, "You’re the best."
Then, he jumped to his feet and once again turned to look at the skeletons. The explosion had taken them out too, so he was standing in a clearing.
But the skeletons were simply too many in number, and they were already closing in on him. And he could also see two Lava Imps coming out of the ground.
’I would love to play with you all, but I need to enter the Primordial Expanse at any cost, so I can’t delay any longer,’ Leon thought.
He turned towards his team and shouted, "Make a path toward the Fortress. That’s the second sector."
"Seems like he’s had his fun," Natasha muttered before stepping forward.
"Yes." Bella turned toward Denver and found him fighting three skeletons at once, and it was clear he was at a disadvantage.
But that wasn’t the problem. Bella noticed a pressure plate behind him, and he was also being pushed back.
She dashed toward him and caught him with one hand before he could step on the pressure plate. She held a pistol in her other hand and quickly shot the three skeletons with precision.
After killing them, she turned toward Denver—whose hand she was still holding—and asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I’m fine." Denver got a little awkward but tried his best not to let it show on his face.
"You should collect the Soul Shards while we are paving a path for us," Bella said as she released him and shot at one of the skeletons without even looking.
Denver felt useless, but he knew he was in no position to argue since she was saying it for his own good. He sighed and nodded before turning to look at Leon, who was still dancing around as if he had limitless stamina.
He was so dazzling that even Denver couldn’t look away.
