CHAPTER 44: FURY OF HEAVENS!!

After launching the boss into the air, Amber ignored her surroundings, which had shattered because Ignaros came to attack her and simply stared at the monster falling down from above.

She raised an eyebrow when she noticed that the Boss was about to use his skills and smirked, "You want to use Fire Element Skill in my presence? Who gave you the permission?"

With that, she snapped her fingers, taking away the control of the fire element of the whole Dungeon. Everything related to fire was in her hands, and no one could use it unless she allowed it.

Even the world itself had to take her permission to use the Fire Element.

Ignaros, who was already falling hard, seemed confused about why his powers weren’t working. No matter what he tried, none of his skills worked because they were all based on the fire element.

"This is better." Amber smiled.

The Boss didn’t linger on his loss and simply hurled the greatsword toward Amber with all his strength.

Looking at the spinning greatsword becoming bigger and bigger, Amber just waved her hand to the right.

The greatsword instantly changed its trajectory by ninety degrees just before it could touch her. But it still carried the momentum and strength from Ignaros, so it hit the walls and pulverized the whole frontal part of the fortress.

"You are destroying your own home," Amber chuckled, finally deciding to move from her position, and disappeared from her spot.

In the next moment, she was already before Ignaros in the as she slammed her fist right on his face, throwing him away like a ragdoll once again.

But she still held back, as she didn’t want to kill him yet. All she wanted was to play with him for a while till he got disconnected from the Dungeon Core.

Ignaros hit the ground, shattering it with his heavy weight and bounced off. He only came to a stop after his body destroyed a few more regions.

Just as he was about to counterattack, his eyes met a pair of indifferent cyan eyes right close to his face and if he had any sanity left, he would’ve seen a hint of anger in those indifferent eyes.

"You aren’t going down so easily. Not after what you did," Amber whispered under her breath, clutching his face tightly in her hands.

A huge beam of crimson flames surrounded by lightning descended from the heavens and landed on the two of them. It was so thick that it could have easily covered the whole fortress.

Even the dark miasma pillar paled in comparison to this beam that seemed to vaporize everything in its path.

A terrible screech resounded in the whole dungeon, making Leon shiver as he was still hiding in the fortress.

He could recognize the owner of that scream, and that was the reason he felt chills. It was from Ignaros, an abomination filled with hunger and madness, who should have already forgotten everything about pain.

Abyssal Creatures usually didn’t feel pain because madness always overtook any other emotions.

Usually, that is.

He couldn’t help but wonder what Amber was doing to actually make a monster like that screech in pain and terror. He was still hiding inside, so he didn’t really witness the battle properly.

But now curiosity got the better of him as he came out of his hiding zone and turned to look at the spot where the most destruction had taken place.

That was when he saw the giant pillar of flames connecting Earth with the heavens. Lightning crackled around it and winds picked up, as if trying to soothe the fury of heavens.

Leon stood mouth agape witnessing the scene before him. He wasn’t even this shocked when he saw the pillar of dark miasma.

’Ridiculous!! This is ridiculous!! Overkill for a Tier 4 Boss!’

One thing he was sure of was that these flames weren’t normal otherwise the monster wouldn’t be screeching so loudly. There was something special about them.

’Amber... is she still on the edge of madness?’

They had met just a few moments ago, and Leon didn’t sense anything major with her. But then again, she was always like that, so he couldn’t even tell if something was wrong with her.

As if what she had done wasn’t enough, the beam of fire, which was already menacing enough, suddenly turned into ice in a blink of an eye.

A powerful explosion broke everything around the pillar and shockwaves made the whole dungeon unstable. Leon could even see cracks forming in the sky.

’The dungeon is becoming way too unstable. If this goes on, then we will all be stuck in this spatial dimension.’

Leon’s hair fluttered in the powerful winds that had begun to affect the area because of the huge tornado forming near the ice pillar that had taken the place of the beam of crimson fire.

Just as Leon was wondering about Amber, his sight caught the disappearance of the pillar of miasma. Even if he wanted to go out and check on the situation, he didn’t leave the area as he knew how important this was.

As the pillar dispersed into the void, it left behind a big revolving sphere of solid dark miasma. It was still emitting a nauseating smell along with the disgusting aura.

Leon didn’t waste any time and ran toward the core with his baseball bat in hand. He could feel the miasma pushing against him and even entering his body to affect his Soul Core.

’Guess it is tough even for the system to guard against something of this level.’

He jumped off a fallen statue, raised his bat above him with one hand, and smashed it against the dark dungeon core. The rebound force almost made him drop the bat, but he persisted and put all the strength he could muster with his single hand.

"AGHHHH!!!"

Cracks formed in the core and they got bigger in no time before the whole sphere broke apart, leaving a dense ball of miasma in its place which lunged at Leon instantly.

Leon didn’t even have time to guard himself against it, but there was really nothing he could do against this. He also didn’t know dungeon cores had something stored inside them, so it took him by surprise.

He could only watch helplessly as the miasma almost entered his body, but before it could do so, a warm hand landed on his shoulder which pushed away the miasma.

"Wha—"

"Time to go home. But this will make you unconscious for a moment, so beware."

Leon wanted to ask something but shut his mouth upon hearing the words. Just as Amber had said, he lost consciousness soon and the last thing he saw was the sky collapsing right before his eyes.

It was as if the world was coming to an end.

’I wonder if Earth will have the same future.’

...

Leon stirred awake, and as soon as clarity returned to him, he jumped to his feet and found himself in the hall where every student had gathered before entering the dungeon.

It was packed again with many staff members, the Vice Headmistress, and some doctors too. But something else drew his attention.

He turned around and found his classmates sleeping on the ground in a peaceful sleep.

’Something doesn’t add up!’

He quickly counted the number of students and realized what was bugging him.

The number didn’t match.

Not every student returned.
