CHAPTER 51: CAN I BE THE FATHER?

Leon walked out of the main gate, which required some procedures to follow and thus took some time. He found Amber leaning against the fantastic car, which immediately made his eyes shine.

He was a car lover in his previous life, and it showed by how the first thing he did after getting money from selling the game was to buy a Bugatti.

And the car that Amber had now was just another beast entirely.

"So sexy!" Leon used Sprint Boost and began to check out the red car, completely ignoring its owner.

He caressed the metal beast and checked all around it with a huge smile on his face. The more he looked at it, the more he liked it. If he had such a beast in his previous life, he would have just roamed around the world instead of making that damned game.

Even Amber was surprised by his enthusiasm. She was already used to seeing scorn from people for being old-fashioned.

After all, who would use these cars, which weren’t even safe, instead of hovering vehicles and Bullet Trains that provided protection, speed, style, and everything else?

She had expected no different reaction from Leon, but this boy surprised her yet again. She let him check the car, and it actually made her happy.

No one understood her interest in old, classic things like these cars after her master died. She thought she was already used to being alone in this, but only now did she realise how truly lonely she was.

She really appreciated his interest in the cars.

"You like it?" she asked, still hoping that he wouldn’t deny it.

"Like it? I love this sexy babe!" Leon exclaimed. "Why do I feel like it has a modified engine?"

"You think so?"

"Yup. It gives me that feeling. But I don’t know much about the cars."

"Haha! I modified it myself and made it a beast," Amber laughed and patted the bonnet. "It flies on the road now."

"I can see." Leon smiled and asked, "Can I drive it?"

"You know how to drive this?" Amber was once again surprised.

"Who do you think I am? There’s no car in this world that this young master can’t drive," Leon snorted.

"Alright. You can drive it." Amber smiled and added, "I have more of these beasts in my garage. Wanna come and see them someday?"

"Really? More like these? How many?" Leon’s eyes were practically shining at this point.

Amber was affected by his excitement too and smiled widely in response. "Of course, I have. I’m a collector and have over a hundred of these, and I cherish each of them a lot. They’re my babies."

"Can I become the father?" Leon said, earning a smack from Amber.

"What the hell are you saying, brat?" Amber scoffed.

"I’m just saying that I also wanna play with them." Leon rubbed the back of his head, trying to change the subject.

"Then just say that," Amber shook her head and went to the car’s back while scoffing mentally. ’Idiot!’

Leon pursed his lips and went towards her. "I’m sorry. I just got too excited at the thought of seeing so many of these sexy babes."

"It’s fine. I’m the same when it comes to cars, so I can understand," Amber said before taking out a baseball bat. "Here, I picked it up."

"Ohh! Thanks a lot!" Leon heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing that the bat was fine. Well, it couldn’t be destroyed, but it could certainly be lost.

"I have to say that it’s something else. You really used all of your luck in getting it," Amber said, staring at the baseball bat. "Even I can’t destroy it."

"No way!" Leon pretended to be surprised, but he already knew about that. Even Demi-Gods couldn’t destroy it, so how could a Tier 11 Ascended do it?

"Yes. It’s very durable. Also, I discovered something else."

She took the bat from him and held it to her side. Under Leon’s curious gaze, the baseball bat began to grow in size and only stopped when it was twice as big as him.

"Woah! I didn’t know it could do that," Leon said in genuine surprise this time.

"Because you can’t do that," Amber said. "It can change sizes once you pour your essence into it. But remember that it stretches its indestructible properties, so the cost is very high. Don’t even bother trying before you’re Tier 5. You’ll lose your consciousness before it grows even one inch."

Leon nodded, taking her reminder very seriously. But he was still very happy to get a new ability for his weapon. That reminded him...

"By the way, I also need more skills and a proper weapon," Leon said before thinking, ’I should practice more with that War Hammer now. It’s Tier 2, after all.’

"Who do you think you are?" Amber snorted, which made him speechless.

Sensing his strange gaze on her, she elaborated, "You’re my student, so of course you’ll get everything as long as you earn it. Don’t worry about it and just enjoy the vacation."

She threw the keys to him and said, "Show me your skills. I’ve already set the direction in the map."

"Should have just used AI," Leon said, catching the keys with one hand.

"Never! I keep my stuff away from that nasty thing," Amber seemed offended and lightly smacked him on the back.

"I’ll become dumb if you do that more." Leon rolled his eyes and went for the driver’s seat, making himself comfortable.

He truly liked this car and even wondered if he should steal it. But considering the fate that awaited him if he did that, he decided to be benevolent and abandoned the idea.

"These cars just have one weakness," Leon said as Amber settled at his side. "They have no protection, so if an Abyssal Creature attacked me, I’d be done for."

Earth was also overflowing with Abyssal Creatures from all the Rifts opening all over the world. So it was expected to meet them if one went out of cities or settlements in general.

This was the reason Bullet Trains were so popular...they provided protection.

"With me here, you need any more protection?" Amber asked as she pulled her seat back slightly and made herself comfortable.

Leon chuckled and started the car as it roared and came alive. The beast was ready to conquer the roads once again.

’Indeed. With a Tier 11 on my side, what more protection do I need?’

With that, he pressed on the accelerator and enjoyed as the car cut through the air and raced on the straight, plain road. It reminded him of how he had died, and his grip on the steering wheel tightened, but he didn’t let it go.

’Damn PTSD! Well, it’s just the entry level, but I guess dying while driving wasn’t a good thing.’

Still, he wasn’t about to give up on one of his favourite things in life just because he lost his life once.

Amber talked more about the cars since Leon was interested in them and realised that he was really knowledgeable about them.

It put her mood at its peak as she talked like a chatterbox for the rest of the journey. For the first time in her life, she met someone who had the same interest as her.

How could she remain silent?
