My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World
Chapter 64: The Boundary
CHAPTER 64: THE BOUNDARY
Leon truly felt that he was finally entering the Overpowered Genre now. After all, he could level up faster by using the Energy Orbs and could increase his battle prowess by making all of his Skills reach Max Stage.
Lastly, he also had time dilation, meaning he could spend a lot more time in the Dungeon improving his skills and becoming stronger.
’The problem is my enemies are also strong as hell. Every single bastard in the Primordial Expanse is a true monstrosity to the core. I can’t let this get over my head. I’m still a weakling.’
He once again poured cold water on his thoughts because he knew himself well. With all this potential of becoming overpowered quicker than others, he would surely get arrogant.
It was just a bad habit that he couldn’t let go.
"Not to mention it wouldn’t be easy to get Skill Stones," he muttered. "They’re very rare in the early Floors, and when one reaches higher floors, the requirements to advance every stage become tough. I really want to beat the past me."
It was his decision to make it like this so things remained balanced and there was still some competition left in the game. Players needed to fight for every resource; otherwise, there would be no fun.
Challenges made a game fun, unless it was focused on other aspects.
If Leon had known he was going to enter the game like this, he would have made the most overpowered Dungeon possible, one that would instantly make him Level 200.
"Alright, that’s an exaggeration since I would just die at that point, but still, it would have been easier." Leon sighed. "Whatever! I still have it much easier than others, so I should just be grateful."
He suddenly remembered something and thought, "I don’t think I slept for 3 days, so the time limit of Time Dilation shouldn’t be the trigger. Then... something else? I slept, so maybe I should try it later."
Even though it didn’t work before, he might try again. Maybe it would work this time. Maybe sleeping was really the trigger to get out of this Dungeon.
’I will try later. First, I gotta find that bastard,’ Leon thought before running in a random direction.
If the Mosspounder wouldn’t come towards him, then he would simply have to go towards it.
’Meadows are home to Tier 1 Monsters, Sector 2 is for Tier 2 Monsters, while the last sector is filled with Elite monsters of Tier 2 along with the Tier 3 Boss. That guy won’t be easy to kill even if I advance to Tier 3.’
So, Leon decided to head towards Sector 2 since he couldn’t get much from the Meadows anyway. There were only Tier 1 Crimson Rabbits here.
But there was no clear sense of direction in the meadows. They were just endless fields of grass, and even the sun was constant, so he couldn’t use it to guess the direction.
Nevertheless, Leon had his ways to find his way since he was the one who designed this dungeon. He knew every nook and cranny of it.
’Every Floor is in a rectangular shape, with all sides having a thick barrier that wouldn’t break even if a Demi-God attacked it. The sectors are placed adjacent in this rectangle, so I just need to find the barrier and use it to locate Sector Two.’
On the way, he encountered a few more Crimson Rabbits, which he easily slew. He also tried to make them bleed to see if the Mosspounder would be attracted.
Surprisingly, it didn’t work this time.
’What is happening?’
So, he began slaughtering Crimson Rabbits while running in a single direction, and finally, after more than an hour of running, he saw the towering barrier before him.
Or rather, The Boundary as it was called.
The Boundary was a towering wall of shimmering rainbow colours that blocked his vision from seeing the other side. It stretched into the sky as far as his eyes could see, and if he had dug into the ground, he would have found the same thing there too.
This was how he had designed the dungeon, and even he didn’t know what existed beyond The Boundary.
It was like a natural wall separating the dungeon from reality.
’Perhaps it really is a case like that. This wall separates the dungeon from the real world. But then it should be like an independent world, and The Primordial Expanse wouldn’t spare it, just like it didn’t spare Earth.’
Busy in his thoughts, he stopped before the Boundary and stared at it in wonder. He didn’t try to touch it because he knew what awaited him if he did that.
A fate worse than death.
Even though he wouldn’t die, he wasn’t willing to satisfy his curiosity by going through that terrible pain.
Just then, he heard some screeching from his side and found a Crimson Rabbit standing not far from him. Its crimson eyes met his emerald green eyes, and both of them just stood frozen there for a moment.
Then, a malicious grin formed on Leon’s face as he shouted, "Hey, my long-lost friend, how about we have dinner together?"
The Rabbit moved back while screeching something, as if telling him it could smell the blood of its brethren. What dinner? This damned human would surely turn it into his dinner.
"Don’t be like that, my dear friend. I promise you I’ll show you a whole different world. You’ll definitely like it," Leon promised with an honest, innocent face.
If there had been a human before him, they might have been convinced by his act, but the Crimson Rabbit only glared at him before jumping away.
"Nah uh! You aren’t going anywhere," Leon said as he ran towards the rabbit. "I never break my promise, and I will fulfill it even if I have to force you. Sorry about that, buddy."
The monster increased its speed even more and began screeching loudly, as if enraged by his words. It was faster than any Crimson Rabbit Leon had met, which showed its power.
But the strongest Crimson Rabbit was still being chased down by Leon like a small animal hunted by a seasoned predator.
Leon clicked his tongue when he saw the rabbit running so fast that even he was having trouble catching up to it.
He didn’t want to waste any more time, so he used Sprint Boost a few times and finally managed to close the gap between them.
The Crimson Rabbit panicked, seeing Leon growing closer, and tried to run even faster, but Leon was just as persistent.
’I need you alive for my experiment,’ Leon smiled and changed his weapon to the Baseball Bat this time.
Gripping the bat tightly, he used Sprint Boost once again and appeared right beside the Crimson Rabbit. The monster also realised it was pointless to run, so it bared its fangs and brandished its claws.
But before the rabbit could attack him, Leon smashed the baseball bat into the rabbit’s belly with controlled strength, making sure it wouldn’t die immediately.
The force behind the impact, however, threw the monster to the side.
And on its side was the shimmering Boundary.
