CHAPTER 86: BIG BAD AUNTY!

Leon’s feelings weren’t much different than Amber’s. He also felt angry at those people who killed so many innocent lives just for revenge. As long as there was even a small chance of success, they would follow that plan even if it meant thousands died.

They were the lowest of the low, one of the bottom scums in the human hierarchy, exactly the kind of people Leon hated the most.

But that was also what made them dangerous.

"Anyways, if what you said comes true, then they would need to mess around with the Rune Formations to disturb the Concealment and let the Primordial Expanse know of this city’s existence," Amber said, jumping to her feet.

She patted his shoulders and added, "Enjoy your day, because we’re going back to the Academy tomorrow. I won’t be lenient on you just because we share a relationship now."

"Yeah yeah, I know that much. I also know you’ll especially go ’easy’ on me because of our relationship," Leon scoffed and swatted her hand away.

"Heh, you’ve begun to understand me better," Amber grinned. "Alright, I’ll handle the Rift problem, and you keep your brain open. It makes good ideas."

Amber was genuinely impressed by his sharp thinking, because not even for a moment did she expect their enemies to use such tactics. And yet here he was, a youngster, coming up with them casually.

"You’d be a scary enemy in an evenly matched war," Amber admitted. Then she leaned back, a sly grin tugging at her lips. "This reminds me, the Academy will be hosting the Conclave this time, so be prepared. You’ll surely be in the spotlight, so don’t disappoint."

"When is it starting?" Leon asked. He already knew about the Conclave. It was the second big Event of the game, after all.

It was the Event right before the shift of the plot from Earth to the Primordial Expanse, the true horror of the game.

"Uhh, it should be on the 25th of January," Amber said with some uncertainty. "Whenever it is, you’ll find out after reaching the Academy."

Saying that, she walked out of the room, leaving Leon alone. He rubbed the bridge of his nose and whispered, "I knew the butterfly effect would be there, but that’s still way quicker than I imagined. Well, no worries. I’ll be fully prepared this time."

He freshened up and went downstairs. As his bare feet touched the wooden floor, he remembered something and thought, ’Wait! I also had a dream today. That’s surprising.’

Ever since he came to this world, his nights and sleep had been messed up, so he never really had dreams. And finally, he got one.

’It was quite a weird one, but it was probably because I finally managed to get some proper sleep. That’s better, I guess.’

He shook his head and went to the bakery, where he found a lot more people than normal. The customers were the usual ones, but there was an addition of a few waiters.

He smiled as he recognized them and began to help out as usual. They were the children who grew up in the orphanage where Evelyn often volunteered, so it wasn’t a surprise they came to meet her.

After the morning shift passed, Leon closed the bakery and went back inside, where he found five teenagers along with Amber.

They were unusually silent, which was odd since Leon knew most of them as chatterboxes. But he already knew the reason.

"Can you stop scaring kids?" Leon asked as he sat beside Amber.

"When did I do that?" Amber asked, still focused on her laptop.

"Your presence literally screams, ’I’ll kill you if you come close,’" Leon rolled his eyes before turning to the teenagers. "Don’t worry about this bad big aunty. She’s just grumpy cuz of her periods."

Before he even finished his words, he ducked down to avoid the smack coming from behind and added calmly, "And this just proved it."

Amber gave him a quick glare before shifting to another couch with her laptop.

’Must be something important if she let go of this matter so easily,’ Leon guessed before ignoring her completely. "So, how are you guys doing?"

"Absolutely fantastic!!" Su Ruting shouted excitedly now that Leon was in front of her. "I already got a job and it pays well too!"

"Yes, we’ve finally landed jobs, so our lives are better," another girl with deep, curly brown hair chimed in. "It’s all thanks to you, Big Brother."

"Hmm, with an amazing teacher like me, you all were bound to land good jobs," Leon nodded with a smile.

Since they were a few years younger than him, he had always treated them as his younger siblings and taught them many things they would need in the real world.

In this cruel world where people died young, there were always job opportunities for teenagers because many had to support themselves. The moment children turned fifteen, they were sent to search for work by the orphanage.

After all, the orphanage couldn’t feed them forever. Its focus was always on children who would die without its support.

"By the way..." Isabella leaned closer to him and whispered, "who is that big sister?"

"What big sister? She’s not my age, so call her aunty," Leon snorted, and he swore he heard something crack behind him, but he ignored it. "Remember that well."

He received a light smack on the head and turned around, only to see Evelyn’s delicate face glaring at him fiercely.

’Stop making fun of your teacher and go bring the mango juice from the kitchen. I also baked some cookies, so bring them too.’ Evelyn said before sitting among the guests and laughing with them.

"The whole world is this woman’s child," Leon shook his head and stood up to follow her orders.

"I’ll help you," Deniz, the eldest of the group, stood up and said.

Leon didn’t reply, so she just followed him quickly. Upon entering the kitchen, she asked, "Say, brother, are you perhaps courting her?"

"What if I am?" Leon said as he began taking out the cookies. "Also, when did you become so gossipy?"

"Hehe, it’s a matter of my brother’s life, so of course I need to know everything," Deniz smiled. "She doesn’t look like an aunty though. She’s pretty but fierce too. I think she’s a good partner for someone as shameless as you."

Leon stopped his work and quietly moved behind her. Then, in a flash, he locked his arms around her neck in a tight headlock. "Just because I’ve been gone for a while, you’ve grown bold, huh? Dare call me shameless?"

Deniz tried to struggle out of his grip, but how could an ordinary girl resist him when he was already Tier 2?

She quickly gave up and pleaded, "I’m sorry! I’m sorry! My brother is the most humble person in the whole world!!"

"Repeat it three times!"

Leon only released her when she repeated it five times. He then glanced at her neck to make sure there were no marks. Seeing everything was fine, he mentally sighed in relief.

"You’re a bully!"

"Want more?"

Deniz instantly backed away in fear and said, "I came here for something important, so please have mercy on me."
