My SSS-Rank Dungeon: Reborn In A Reverse World
Chapter 89: Friends (2)
CHAPTER 89: FRIENDS (2)
Leon didn’t know if it was just intuition or something else, but Deniz seemed to have found Natasha’s goal immediately, making him speechless.
Her narrowed eyes said everything he needed to understand. She was judging if Natasha was worthy of her brother or not.
"Hello! I’m Bella, Leon’s classmate and also a very dear friend," Bella said cheerfully, ignoring the tension between Deniz and Natasha.
"Oh, hello. I’m Deniz, Big Brother’s younger sister." Deniz introduced herself politely.
"You didn’t tell us you had a sister," Natasha asked with a smile. "Or is it a different kind of sister?"
Leon gave a chop on her head and said, "Get your head out of the gutter. We’re not blood-related, but she is still my sister."
Natasha’s smile turned even brighter, and she appeared before Deniz in an instant. "Hello, dear sister, I’m Natasha, a very dear friend of Leon. Nice to meet you!"
"Uhh..." Deniz was taken aback by her momentum and couldn’t speak for a while.
"I have something to talk with you, it’s a secret..." She leaned forward and whispered. "About Leon."
"Oii, what are you doing to her?" Leon found their interactions odd and knew this black-hearted woman was planning something again.
But Deniz seemed to be convinced as she said, "I’ll handle it, Brother."
Then, she took her to a different room for some reason...
"What just happened?" Bella muttered in confusion, and her best friend Rani just nodded in agreement. She was also confused but didn’t show much.
Just then, Evelyn came out from the kitchen with a tray full of cookies, beverages, and other things.
She smiled at the three of them and waved her hand to say something after putting the tray on table. But seeing their confused faces, she facepalmed and tapped on her wristwatch.
Leon was paying attention to their reactions, and as expected, he saw the familiar gaze of confusion at first before it turned into pity, sympathy, and then again confusion.
He didn’t blame them as it was very common, but he was still a bit disappointed and disheartened.
’I shouldn’t expect everyone to be the same as Amber. They’re just kids anyways.’
Unexpectedly, Denver bowed toward Evelyn and said with sincerity clear in his voice, "I’m sorry we didn’t understand you. Forgive us!"
’What...’ Leon was surprised and didn’t know how to react. What was he supposed to say to this odd reaction?
Rani followed suit as she bowed and said, "It is our fault that we can’t even understand the host. I apologize for our misconduct."
Bella was the last, but she wasn’t like those two blockheads. She elegantly bowed and said calmly, "We will be prepared next time."
Leon wanted to laugh at their reaction, but he didn’t because he knew it would be an insult to their sincerity.
’They are a bunch of weirdos.’ Leon shook his head with a small smile on his face.
Evelyn hurriedly shook her hand and tapped on her wrist before the little bunny came over, and a soft, feminine voice came from it.
"It’s nothing, really. It isn’t your fault. Please raise your head."
Before they could say anything else, Leon said, "Get up. Are you disobeying my Mom’s words?"
Evelyn made an annoyed face at him, and once again, the little bunny spoke on her side. "Don’t speak nonsense. They are your friends."
"Isn’t that the reason they’re inside?" Leon said.
"Shut up!"
Leon closed his mouth and went to sit on her side. Then he gestured to his friends to sit down too. They gave their gifts to Evelyn and also took their seats.
Although they had just come to pick up Leon, they also wanted to meet his mother, and her gentle demeanor along with that sweet smile certainly made her status rise in their hearts.
"By the way, I’m sorry for being rude, but I wanted to ask you something," Evelyn asked through the Little Bunny.
"Aunt, you can ask anything from us. We have very thick skin, so we can endure anything and everything," Bella was the unofficial representative of these Dumbos who were bad at communication.
Evelyn smiled with relief and asked, "Are you really his friends?"
Everyone was stumped at her question and blinked in confusion.
Denver asked, "I don’t understand. We are his friends, but..."
He didn’t finish for some reason. Perhaps he felt it was rude to call her question weird?
Leon just grunted at that and looked away. He should have known she would bring this up. It’s been years, and she still didn’t forget.
Evelyn smiled at their reaction and said, "You see, he never really made friends, so I was always worried about him. Aside from Silver, he didn’t play with anyone, so I always asked him to make friends. So, do you know what he did?"
Everyone leaned forward as their ears perked up with interest. They were definitely invested in this story.
"He paid five people with my cake and asked them to become his friends for a day," Evelyn once again felt angry thinking of it and smacked his head.
"Hey! I was just trying to make you happy..." Leon tried to protest, but a single glare from Evelyn shut his mouth.
’I guess this is how it feels when your mother reveals your embarrassing history to your friends. Also, why the hell are you guys giving me that look? It was a good plan!’ Leon rolled his eyes at his friends.
Bella was the first to speak up since the other two were too speechless by his actions. She chuckled softly and said, "You don’t need to worry this time, Aunt. We truly are his friends and even went to explore a dungeon together. He saved all of us back then. That should tell you how he sees us."
Evelyn smiled at her words and said, "I’m really happy to hear it. Please take care of him. I know he can be a bit of a handful and annoy you a lot. Just give him a beating but still take care of him."
’Whose mother are you!?’ Leon wanted to scream, but the orders were clear. He couldn’t speak.
"It won’t be necessary because you raised him very well, Aunty." Natasha entered the room and said. "Good afternoon, I’m also his friend, Natasha."
