CHAPTER 90: QUESTIONING

Evelyn silently stared at Natasha with a strange glint passing through her eyes. She then smiled and said, "Natasha, what a beautiful name. It suits you well."

Natasha’s smile widened, but Leon knew it was going to freeze soon. As expected, Evelyn’s next words almost wiped that smile away.

"I’m sure you’re very good friends with Silver and Leon, so thanks for that."

Leon smirked and watched the play unfold. Evelyn was gentle and kind, but it didn’t mean she was a simple-minded person.

Rather, she was the opposite. No simple person could survive what she had gone through. It was just that those things weren’t enough to overshadow her bright light of gentleness and kindness.

In just one simple meeting, she somehow guessed Natasha’s intentions. As for how, Leon had no clue about it.

’Still, she really is sincere. She has turned off her charm completely.’ Leon smiled.

Natasha paused only for a moment before she regained her smile and said, "I didn’t have the time to properly make friends with her, but when she comes back, I will surely give my all to become her friend."

’That question was to confirm that Natasha wouldn’t fight Silver for her position in my heart. Damn these women. Just ask directly instead of going in circles.’ Leon felt Amber was way better in this regard.

"What about Leon? I’m curious what impression he left on you," Evelyn asked, still smiling.

"You do seem like someone who likes to solve mysteries. Is it because of your bloodline?" Evelyn asked.

"Yes, and that’s exactly the reason I was asking about Leon from you," Evelyn said. "I know the curse that your bloodline indirectly gives you, but I hope my son doesn’t become a victim of it."

Their conversation had turned the whole room silent, and since then, everyone was just listening carefully. Certainly, only Deniz and Bella were catching the hidden meaning behind their conversation.

"I have a feeling that’s telling me to be honest with you, Aunt," Natasha said. "When I first met him, the situation was as you have guessed. But I can assure you it has changed greatly over time. It might not be at the level I was hoping, but it’s definitely changed for the better."

Evelyn stared into her eyes, and Natasha also didn’t shy away. It was as if she wanted to show her sincerity to Evelyn. She knew how important Evelyn’s stance on this was, and she had come here to clear that up.

Even Leon was surprised this time as he could see Natasha wasn’t joking or playing with her words. She was serious about pursuing him.

The silence was broken by Deniz, who spoke from the side, "Aunt, Big Sis Nat is good."

Evelyn raised an eyebrow at her evaluation and turned back to Natasha. Then she nodded and typed further on her wristwatch.

"As expected, you are beautiful. But I won’t meddle in children’s business," Evelyn smiled and said, making her stance clear. "But I hope you all can be a great team because this silly boy will need it."

Natasha visibly heaved a sigh of relief, and Leon was also quite relieved. His mother had basically decided to give him all the power to make the decision.

It wasn’t like she ever restricted him from anything in particular, but her opinion was still important for Leon, so he was glad that Natasha had passed the first impression part.

’So far so good. Silver, Amber, Natasha. Yes, things are going well,’ Leon smiled.

Things had been hectic, so he had almost forgotten one of his main goals in this world. He wanted to make the harem of his favorite characters, and it was still the same.

He had also realized that they could become an anchor to keep his mentality sane. It would be a double-edged sword since it could also hurt him, but he was willing to take those risks for them.

He turned towards Deniz, "Oii! What did she bribe you with? Or did she charm you?"

"Big Sis isn’t someone like that. Her heart is pure, unlike you, Stinky Brother," Deniz snorted at him.

Leon noticed the smug face of Natasha and wanted to open Deniz’s head to see what they actually talked about. He was certain that Natasha hadn’t used her charm ability, so how did she convince her so quickly?

"You kids have fun while I’ll go make something for you," Evelyn said as she stood up. As always, she wanted to feed people with her delicious food.

Since they were going for their little party in the evening, they didn’t refuse her offer.

As Evelyn disappeared into the kitchen and Deniz took her friends out, it left only the five of them in the room. There was an awkward atmosphere as none of them knew what to say after that conversation.

Leon expected Bella to break the ice, but surprisingly the first words came from Denver, who had a thoughtful look on his face as he said, "Your mom is scary."

All gazes instantly fell on him as they all looked with strange expressions on their faces.

Realizing what he had said, Denver hurriedly tried to explain, "I didn’t mean that. But I mean... umm, like I felt scared when she was asking those questions to her. It felt as if my heart would stop at any moment. It’s a strange feeling since she is very sweet."

"That’s true." Natasha agreed. "She’s very sweet and protective. You lucked out on getting such a good mother, Leon."

Usually, Leon would have made a joke with her, but he knew the topic of mothers was sensitive to her, so he just smiled and said, "She likes to treat the whole world as her children anyway, so you can treat her as your second mother too. I’m sure she’ll be very happy."

"Really?" Rani asked with hopeful eyes. "I mean, she won’t mind if I drop by here in the future?"

"Nah! As I said, she’ll be very happy to have you guys here," Leon chuckled and said.

"Thanks!" A subtle smile formed on her lips, making Leon once again realize the importance of relationships in this broken world.

Most of the relationships were broken in some ways in this cruel world. It made sure of that.

"Yippie!!! I also have a mom now!" Bella cheered happily. "Now I can brag to those brats too. Hmph!"

’Seems like she has a grudge on this,’ Leon was amused. It was then he received a text and noticed Natasha having her hand on her lap while she looked at him with a smile.

He frowned slightly and tapped on his wrist lightly as a hologram only he could see formed before his eyes.
