My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 102: Not Bad
CHAPTER 102: CHAPTER 102: NOT BAD
What she wanted to remind Caleb of was also this: The Adler Family had always been trying to get rid of Caleb. Now that he’s seriously injured, even if the hospital claims he died despite all efforts, no one would suspect anything.
The reporters heard Melody Thorne’s words and immediately dispersed. No matter what, Ivy had become somewhat famous now, and with Director Irving’s support, a newcomer causing an injury even before debuting was enough to make headlines for a couple of days.
Melody Thorne initially wanted to go to the hospital to see how Caleb was doing. Just as she was about to leave, a small hand grabbed her, shaking her arm softly, "Melody~."
Melody Thorne "...".
She bent down and picked him up.
Mrs. Quinn snorted coldly at the sight of them, "I really don’t know how she compares to Ivy."
"What? You disapprove of the granddaughter-in-law I’ve chosen?" A strong voice came from the doorway, followed by the sound of a cane hitting the ground. The old man, wearing a black Zhongshan suit, stood authoritatively outside.
"Dad, Dad," Mrs. Quinn’s expression changed immediately as she corrected herself. Everyone in the Quinn Family knew old Mr. Quinn had an explosive temper, and Jared Quinn got his temper from him too. More importantly, the old man was strict, and no one dared to provoke him.
"Misunderstanding, misunderstanding, you heard wrong. I was saying how Ivy compares to Melody Thorne."
Old Mr. Quinn snorted coldly, clearly not buying her explanation, "Alright, you can go back. I have nothing to do for the next few days, so I’ll stay here with them."
"Yes, yes," Mrs. Quinn pouted and left.
When Melody Thorne saw old Mr. Quinn, her eyelids twitched twice because he was genuinely intimidating. Besides being good to her, his other interest seemed to be trying to match her with Jared Quinn.
In the hall, old Mr. Quinn was reading the newspaper, while Jared Quinn and Melody Thorne sat across from him. From time to time, he would glance at them.
Melody Thorne kept pretending to be very affectionate with Jared Quinn, constantly feeding him fruit to reassure the old man so he would leave peacefully.
Otherwise, who knows what else he might stir up.
Even drugging them would be a minor issue.
Old Mr. Quinn coughed twice and looked at his grandson, "I heard that Ivy comes here every day?"
Jared Quinn ate the fruit Melody Thorne brought to his lips, giving her a meaningful look, "Oh."
"I also heard she had people bully Melody at school?"
Jared Quinn glanced at Melody Thorne again, "Oh."
Melody Thorne "!!!".
Why does he keep looking at her?
Her gaze turned towards the butler, her eyes smoldering in anger, knowing he must have tattled to old Mr. Quinn again.
The butler straightened his back, forced by the old man to speak.
The old man banged his cane on the ground heavily, "What does your ’oh oh oh’ mean?"
"It will be resolved."
Old Mr. Quinn snorted, finally hearing a satisfactory response.
Melody Thorne took the grape meant for Jared Quinn’s mouth and threw it back into the plate, turning to head upstairs, "I’m tired and want to go take a nap."
"You’re still not satisfied with the wife I’ve chosen for you?" This time, old Mr. Quinn targeted his own grandson.
Jared Quinn’s tall and slender body leaned against the sofa, one arm casually resting as he coolly said, "Not bad."
Hey, getting his grandson’s approval made the old man more excited than if he’d taken a stimulant, banging his cane on the ground a few more times.
Because of a cold, Melody Thorne slept for quite a long time. When she woke up, it was already evening. She went out intending to have a drink of water when suddenly the old man’s voice and the sound of something falling reached her ears from downstairs. Shocked, she hurriedly ran downstairs.
