My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 124: I Miss You
CHAPTER 124: CHAPTER 124: I MISS YOU
"Then why are you stopping me?" Melody Thorne pressed against the wall, her gaze towards the man filled with irritation.
Jared Quinn narrowed his eyes, his coarse thumb rubbing across her red lips. "I saved you last night just so you can avoid me like this?"
"You saved me?" Melody scoffed, the corners of her lips curling with mockery. "You were clearly trying to exonerate Ivy. Do you think I’m still as naive as before and can’t see through it? You’re siding with her. If Grandpa Jared were to check the surveillance, she wouldn’t get away so easily!"
"Melody Thorne!" The more she spoke, the colder and darker Jared’s rigid features became. He truly wanted to pry open her head to see what kind of nonsensical things she was thinking all the time.
Who said he did what he did yesterday for Ivy!
"What’s the matter? Hit the nail on the head, didn’t I?" Melody’s delicate fingers lightly pressed against the man’s solid chest as she casually said, "Honestly, you two can do whatever you like, really, I’m not upset at all. I can’t even see you both. If you and Ivy are fine, then Timmy would..."
Be mine...
Before she could finish, a fierce wind from a punch whistled past her ear, followed by the sound of a fist hitting the wall, only two centimeters from the side of her face. His fist had just grazed past her skin.
Melody’s face turned pale instantly, her dark, clear pupils flashed with memories of the past, the colors inside constantly changing, filled with disbelief, resentment, and regret.
She thought of that moment before her last life ended, how he’d rather believe that she’d drugged herself than that Ivy had framed her!
"So now you’re going to hit me for her?"
Jared stared at her; the punch that hit the wall was out of intense anger,
angry at her indifference.
Angry that she didn’t see him at all.
Angry that she always tied Ivy to him.
But! He would never raise a hand against a woman, he didn’t consider it worth it.
Seeing him silent, Melody automatically confirmed her suspicions, pushing him away forcefully, misty tears welling up in her eyes. When it came to men, she still lost to Ivy!
Jared stared at her departing back, his brow twitching, and in rage again, he punched the wall where a noticeable dent appeared.
Melody walked out of the bathroom, her face slightly cool. She raised her hand to wipe it, dampening the back of her hand. She had died once, yet she was still crying.
She took out her phone, found Hans Montrose’s number, typed a few words, and sent them [I miss you]
After sending it, she wanted to retract it, but since she and Jack Montrose grew up together, it shouldn’t be a big deal to joke around, right? He used to prank her all the time, and she just vented her emotions because she was upset.
Why can Jared Quinn have so many women around him, but she can’t have a few men around her?
Melody tossed the phone onto the table, glanced back towards the bathroom, lay down, pulled a white plush blanket over herself, and closed her eyes.
When Jared came out, she was already asleep, the soft bed, black luxurious canopies, her soft body tightly wrapped in a white plush blanket, her sense of vigilance particularly strong, her long hair spread out underneath her, and her long eyelashes casting gentle shadows, very enticingly beautiful.
Her serene sleeping appearance reminded Jared of four words: carefree and heartless...
