My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 125: Satisfying Revenge
CHAPTER 125: CHAPTER 125: SATISFYING REVENGE
Jared Quinn lit a cigarette, watched her quietly for a few seconds, then walked over, gazing at those thin red lips, his Adam’s apple moving up and down, he averted his gaze and left.
In the early morning, after Melody Thorne had breakfast, she went to Kiki Sutton’s place again, but there was still no one to open the door for her.
It seemed like she didn’t have any script to go abroad, so Melody Thorne called her. After ringing for a while, no one answered, and just as she was about to leave, a call from the hospital came in.
"Hello, are you a family member of Miss Sutton? She was injured and is unconscious, please have her family come to the hospital as soon as possible."
...
When Melody Thorne arrived at the hospital, Kiki Sutton had just woken up. Her forehead was wrapped in gauze, her face looked a bit pale, and her spirits were not very good.
"What happened?" Melody Thorne walked in, looking at the gauze wrapped around Kiki Sutton’s forehead, her face turning cold.
"I’m fine, really, you see, I can even move." Kiki Sutton answered evasively.
"Are we really best friends?" Melody Thorne didn’t smile at her.
"Shh, keep it down," Kiki Sutton pulled her closer, worried someone might overhear. This script she fought hard for, even though she was playing a secondary consort often bullied, the role had more scenes than her previous ones.
"Did someone hit you?" Melody Thorne stared at her wound, almost accurately guessing from her expression.
The noise outside grew louder.
"Wow, it’s Sheryl Lancaster, it’s actually Sheryl Lancaster!"
"Oh my god, she’s so beautiful."
"I can’t believe I’m seeing the goddess so close!"
"Sheryl Lancaster, Sheryl Lancaster!"
The sound of high heels came closer to the ward. Melody Thorne looked up; Sheryl Lancaster walked in, followed by a large crowd of supporters, with a grand entrance.
"Is it her?" Melody Thorne stood up.
"Melody, don’t be impulsive, under no circumstances be impulsive," Kiki Sutton lowered her voice. "She’s the one Radiant Group is strongly backing, we can’t afford to offend her now."
"Don’t worry, I won’t," Melody Thorne gave her a reassuring look, but she clearly saw that Sheryl Lancaster’s gaze toward her was also very unfriendly.
Sheryl Lancaster curled her lips in satisfaction, glancing at Melody Thorne with a sense of revenge. Even though she hadn’t hit Melody Thorne, hitting someone by her side felt just as satisfying.
"Kiki," Sheryl Lancaster walked over pretending to be concerned, "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, I was too immersed in the role and hit you by mistake. I really didn’t mean it, I still haven’t gotten out of the script yet. You won’t blame me, will you?"
As she spoke, her eyes intentionally or unintentionally glanced at Melody Thorne’s direction.
"You can’t blame our goddess Sheryl, she’s super dedicated."
"Yes, yes, our goddess Sheryl is kind-hearted, she definitely didn’t do it on purpose."
"She did it on purpose, definitely on purpose," on the other side of the ward, there were also some fans supporting Kiki Sutton, though their numbers were fewer.
"Isn’t it said that a good actor can control their emotions as needed? Or has our Aethelburg Academy teacher taught wrong?" Melody Thorne spoke with a bit of doubt, "To be so immersed in a role that someone gets knocked out, how much force would that take for a woman?"
"What do you mean?" Sheryl Lancaster sneered at her, "Someone who’s never even been on a set, what do you know about getting into character?"
"I really don’t know," Melody Thorne curled her lips, "But I do know what professional ethics an actor should have!"
"Are you accusing our Sheryl of lacking professional ethics?" The fans outside immediately became displeased, ready to defend Sheryl Lancaster at any moment.
