My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 161: It’s Actually You?
CHAPTER 161: CHAPTER 161: IT’S ACTUALLY YOU?
"The river is swift, I’m afraid the person might be impossible to find."
Even if found, they might be dead.
"Ah, Miss Adler is missing?" A makeup artist exclaimed, pulling out her phone, "No, I must inform the Adler Family first, inform them first."
Melody Thorne watched the river. Ivy dared to stake her life, but she definitely wouldn’t want to die; she surely made preparations.
"Miss Thorne, do you want to hide for a while?" a makeup artist, who was also everyone’s agent, spoke up. Because they hadn’t signed with any company yet, the crew hired someone for convenient communication with the actors.
But this person...
She remembered her. She had once been glorious, a top agent of IT agency, but after collaborating with a cunning and deceitful celebrity, her reputation was ruined.
Thus, she turned from a golden agent to a nanny-like agent everyone despised, but her ability to pull in resources was undoubtedly high.
"Hiding would only make it worse," Melody Thorne smiled faintly.
Nina King was somewhat surprised to see this expression on her face. The calm and indifferent demeanor was not typical for someone her age. She swallowed nervously looking at the young woman in front of her; she was a good prospect. If she could align with her, she might become a successful agent once more.
Melody Thorne averted her gaze, waiting for Nina King to speak to her first.
The entire crew began to become chaotic as the Adler Family arrived with menacing demeanor.
George Adler stormed into the set shouting, "Who pushed my daughter into the river? Who has such a grudge against her to murder her?"
Murder? They were framing her for murder.
"It was her," said the makeup artist who had called, pointing at Melody Thorne.
"It was you!" George Adler charged over furiously, "These years, haven’t we treated you well? Your parents disappeared, and we sincerely cared for you. Avril truly cared for you, and yet you want to harm her? Today I demand you pay for my daughter’s life."
"Yes, we must tear this little bitch apart," Mrs. Adler chimed in, snapping pictures of Melody Thorne with her phone, "I will send these out, I want everyone to see how this toxic friend tried to murder my daughter."
"Girls, let’s teach her a lesson, and toss her into the river for revenge for Ivy," several of Ivy’s friends who came with the Adler Family joined in.
Melody Thorne maintained an indifferent expression, her dark eyes glinting coldly. "Mrs. Adler, your daughter is now in the river, her life uncertain, and yet you have time to accuse me of murder here instead of looking for her. It’s really hard to understand. Normally, shouldn’t you find your daughter first rather than slandering someone without any evidence?"
"My, my daughter," Mrs. Adler wailed, "How could you be so kind-hearted yet have such a vicious woman as a friend?"
"My daughter, you’ve been so terribly wronged, and yet they blame us,"
"Hit her, we’ll avenge Ivy," the women picked up stones from the riverbank and hurled them at Melody Thorne.
Outside the theater, a car suddenly sped in. Everyone screamed and dodged. Melody Thorne saw the rear door open and a hand reaching out; without hesitation, she reached out and got into the car.
