My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 162: Missing Him? Are You Crazy?
CHAPTER 162: CHAPTER 162: MISSING HIM? ARE YOU CRAZY?
By the time everyone came to their senses, the car had already driven far away.
"Catch her, catch her," Mrs. Adler screamed, "Quick, catch her."
"Are you alright?" An overcoat fell onto Melody Thorne.
"I’m fine," Melody tightened the coat around her, her gaze faintly looking outside, her eyes somewhat cold. She had underestimated Ivy.
"Let me see your hand," Hans Montrose said, holding a band-aid.
Melody extended her hand. "Why are you here?"
Hans laughed dryly. He wouldn’t tell Melody that he was actually the aloof king hiding in the tent, because it was only the first day of filming, so he didn’t need to come out. Their scene was on the second day, so he wanted to surprise her.
In the end, before he could surprise her, she gave him the biggest surprise.
A gleam of coldness flashed in Hans’s eyes. "I’m afraid the movie is going to be halted."
Director Irving, after all, had directed many TV dramas and movies. Even if his reputation was at its lowest now, he still had some renown. On the very first day of shooting his film this year, such a scandal had already occurred. The reporters would surely make a big fuss, and the movie would definitely be put on hold.
Melody Thorne curled her lips, "It’s perfect if it stops."
She had initially planned to take it slow, but now various opportunities were pushing her forward; the timing, the place, and all the right people were just right.
"You don’t want to shoot?" Hans’s mouth twitched slightly. He had joined the crew to protect her from being bullied, otherwise, he had plenty of resources at his disposal.
"It’s not that," Melody withdrew her hand and hooked Hans’s shoulder with one arm. "Director Irving has always hated exploiting dramas for hype before shooting and only relies on promotion after filming, but the effect is far less than the former. Since this has happened, I might as well go with the flow. Ivy couldn’t possibly die; she’ll come back sooner or later. Now it’s just a matter of who can afford to wait."
"Where do you get such confidence?" Hans’s mouth twitched, his charming eyes shimmering as he placed his big hand on her shoulder. "Do you realize you’re probably already the national target for ridicule?"
The Adler Family had painted her as a murder suspect.
Melody pushed away Hans’s large hand and kicked him lightly. "So I’m counting on you now. Find me a place to stay."
She definitely needed to lay low for a few days, at least until the issue became widely known.
Find a place to stay...
Hans restrained his smile, his bright eyes serious. "I actually have a place, and no one will think of it."
Melody turned her head sideways. "Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. You’ve had a crush on me since we were young. How could you pass up the chance to live alone with me? So, you’re definitely talking about your place, and you’re planning something indecent towards me."
Hans’s mouth twitched. Now he finally knew why he hadn’t pursued Melody back then. She probably thought of him as the same gender.
"Where did you learn to be so narcissistic?" Hans said with a smile.
Melody’s first instinct was the image of a domineering and arrogant figure flashing through her mind... Why the hell did she think of him? She must be going crazy.
"Quick, let’s go to your place," Melody said, not even having the chance to change out of her costume.
The car stopped at the base of Hans’s building. He had just returned to the country, and his whereabouts were kept secret, so those reporters hadn’t found out where he lived yet.
Melody paced back and forth in Hans’s living room, somewhat dissatisfied. "Don’t tell me your house only has one bedroom?"
