CHAPTER 166: CHAPTER 166: WHO SHOULD BE THE FIRST MAN YOU SEEK OUT
"Finn Thorne!" Melody Thorne snorted coldly, "Is that traitor more important to you than your sister?"
Finn Thorne shrank his neck, "Sis, I’m doing this for your own good. Alright, I have things to do. How about this, you two have a chat, I’ll head out first."
"Finn Thorne, I dare you to try leaving."
"Your brother-in-law’s here with you. Even if you want me to stay, I dare not." Finn Thorne swaggered out of the room.
Melody Thorne was about to chase after him, but an arm as strong as steel stopped her. She pushed several times with force, but it didn’t budge an inch.
Jared Quinn’s eyes at this moment burned like fire in a desolate desert, leaving others unable to breathe.
"I’m so angry, I finally caught that brat!" Melody Thorne furiously lifted her head to look at the cold face above her. "Why are you looking at me? Did you suddenly find that I’m actually quite beautiful and fall in love with me? Now you even want to control when I go out?"
Jared Quinn looked down at the petite woman in front of him, his eyes gloomy, his large hand gripping her neck in anger, "Melody Thorne, don’t forget you’re a married woman."
Being called a ’married woman’ sounds so grating.
"I’m not interested in men, you can be a hundred times sure. Before our marriage is over, I definitely won’t cheat. I have things to do. Can you let me go first?"
"No!"
Melody Thorne "... I can’t go anywhere now. Are you sure you want to stay here with me and drag this out?"
The corners of Jared Quinn’s lips tightened, the large hand on Melody Thorne’s neck wavering between loosening and tightening, veins popping and jumping in anger. Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to harm her, her slender neck could easily snap in his palm.
Melody Thorne lifted her foot to assault the man’s center of gravity, but Jared Quinn’s large hand slid down, pulling her toward the sofa, his dark, shimmering eyes filled with a chilling aura, seething with anger.
"What... what exactly do you want?" Melody Thorne’s scalp tingled with fear, "I didn’t do anything!"
Jared Quinn’s arm encircled her, "Didn’t do anything? Or are you staying here overnight? Do you even understand any man in front of a woman can be a predator?"
"He wouldn’t. We’ve known each other since childhood. If he wanted to do anything to me, would it be your turn?"
"So, you’re saying you were originally his?" The whole sentence seemed to squeeze out from between the man’s teeth.
"I didn’t say that. I came because he saved me today. Do you think if it weren’t for him, the Adler Family’s mad dogs wouldn’t have torn me apart?" Melody Thorne braced herself against the man’s chest, glancing occasionally toward the door to see if Hans Montrose might return.
"If you don’t want to be torn apart, you should know who to find first when something happens." Jared Quinn practically wanted to strangle her. Could Hans Montrose solve all her problems?
"Let’s talk about this when we get back." Melody Thorne regretted opening the door for him; it was all Finn Thorne’s fault!
"Answer me," Jared Quinn snorted coldly, eyes fixed intently.
"This small matter doesn’t require finding a man," Melody Thorne said indifferently, "I can handle it myself."
Jared Quinn’s eyes darkened abruptly, "It seems you still don’t understand what you did wrong!"
"What do you mean?"
Jared Quinn picked her up, marching out of Hans Montrose’s place and tossing her into the back seat, driving away.
