My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 19: Is It Tasty, Sweetheart?
CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: IS IT TASTY, SWEETHEART?
Melody Thorne lifted the corners of her lips; it hadn’t been in vain to put on a show.
"This Melody Thorne really seems to have changed." In a small car parked by the roadside, a man named Timothy Lockwood was using a camcorder to record Melody Thorne’s actions. He pressed a few buttons with his large hand, sending everything he had just recorded to another man,
noted as Jared Quinn in his contacts.
Quinn Villa.
She walked inside, treading on the roadside wildflowers while daydreaming. Now that the problems at school were settled and her diploma was secure,
once she made a lot of money, she could shake off Jared Quinn and run away with Timmy.
Thinking of Timmy made Melody’s eyes light up, her heart softening immensely. Knowing that around this time Jared Quinn would definitely not be home, that man was almost never home since she married into the family.
The reason being his disdain for her.
She walked briskly, the sound of her footsteps tapping as she ran inside, cheerfully putting on her earphones and playing a jazz song, humming, "Love isn’t so easy... Everyone has their own temper..."
"My love, at the age of dreaming..."
"Hey, hey."
She took imported Australian bananas, apples, and grapes from the kitchen fridge. After peeling them, she arranged them into a smiling face on a plate while secretly complaining.
Things they obviously had in Stellaria, yet they imported from Veldona, what a ridiculous waste, right? Aren’t the domestic ones good enough?
Melody Thorne grabbed one and stuffed it into her mouth.
Hmm, delicious. The ones from Veldona certainly are different. This taste, tsk tsk, let me have a few more.
Unbeknownst to her, a man was standing near the staircase, his dark eyes inscrutable.
When Melody Thorne ran in earlier, he had just come down the stairs, intending to scoff and leave upon seeing her return. But Melody Thorne surprisingly beat him to it, running into the kitchen.
This wasn’t a big deal,
but the crucial part was, Melody Thorne didn’t even notice him this time!!
The man’s handsome features became even more pronounced, his expression shadowy.
After preparing the fruit platter, Melody walked upstairs towards Timmy’s room, still humming "Love isn’t so easy... Everyone has their own temper...".
She even exaggeratedly made a lifting gesture.
All the while, she didn’t notice the handsome man standing silently at the staircase landing.
"Melody Thorne"! Jared Quinn’s deep voice resonated from his throat, his gaze on her probing deeply.
Melody was still humming, blissfully unaware of the danger nearby, only sensing a sudden tension in the air around her, and a palpable chill.
The chill made her hairs stand on end.
Melody shivered briefly, then darted into Timmy’s room.
Jared Quinn "!!!".
This woman dared to ignore him!
The man took stable, determined steps, preparing to go upstairs.
"Master Jared," came the butler’s voice from downstairs, "The old master called, he wants you to take the call."
Moreover, judging by the old master’s tone, he sounded quite angry!
Upon hearing that the elder Quinn called, Jared Quinn’s dark, phoenix-like eyes dangerously narrowed, casting a glance towards the room upstairs.
That look seemed to carry an overwhelming force, capable of terrifying anyone.
"Grandfather..." Jared Quinn answered the phone.
"Is it delicious, my dear?" Melody Thorne, carrying the tray and removing her earphones, looked at Timmy with eyes so tender it almost seemed like they could drip water.
This little gentleman was hers, he was hers.
