CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: A KISS

"Wh... What’s going on?" Melody Thorne looked at his handsome face and backed away slightly,

"Just a kiss," Jared Quinn said softly.

Melody Thorne: "..."

Her mind went blank for three seconds before she snapped back to reality. In her heart, Jared had always been cold-blooded and would never say something like this. At that moment, everyone at the dinner table was watching them, especially Mr. Tang and Ivy.

They must not have heard anything, right?

"What are you doing?" She gritted her teeth and looked at the man beside her.

"Acting,"

Melody Thorne: "...You don’t have to go this far for acting."

"Realistic," Jared tossed back two more words at her.

"Don’t even think about it," Melody Thorne looked at his handsome face, gritting her teeth. If it had been before, she would have kissed him without hesitation, but recalling everything from her past life,

Seeing her hesitation and still looking so troubled, Jared squinted his eyes. She really seemed to have changed.

"Not going to kiss?" Jared’s lowered voice carried a hint of threat.

Melody Thorne glanced at him, then calmly took a napkin from the side and wiped the man’s face, saying as she did, "Look at you, how come I have to wipe your face while eating?"

Jared’s expression quickly turned dark. Was this woman playing dumb?

The more Melody Thorne wiped, the darker Jared’s face got. Finally, she threw the napkin on the ground. "The more I wipe, the darker it gets. You better go wash your face."

He turned to look, seeing clearly the mischievousness in the little woman’s eyes beside him,

she was definitely doing it on purpose.

With a heavy hand, Jared placed his chopsticks on the table and left.

Melody Thorne continued to eat her meal nonchalantly.

Mr. Quinn and the butler exchanged glances. Why did it seem now that Jared was the one chasing after Melody Thorne, while she remained indifferent towards him?

Ivy lowered her eyes sullenly, gripping her chopsticks tightly. Even she noticed the change in Jared.

After returning home from Mr. Quinn’s, she didn’t see Jared for two days, which suited Melody Thorne just fine.

Until the third day, when Melody Thorne received a call from Ivy about a party she was organizing, a private birthday party.
