My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 41: Traitor
CHAPTER 41: CHAPTER 41: TRAITOR
On the surface, he seemed utterly harmless, but if you got closer, you’d realize just how cruel the boy’s methods were. The turtle’s head and shell were nowhere to be seen, leaving only its bloody body behind.
As Melody Thorne stepped out, she immediately noticed the boy hiding behind her car and strode over. "Are you planning to hide behind my car so I hit you? Then you can extort my money, huh?"
Caleb tilted his head, his gaze fixed on her, no longer pretending to play dumb. He coldly watched her, and suddenly, before Melody could react, he pinned her against the wall like a leopard. "I’m telling you, don’t meddle," he snarled.
As he stood up, Melody realized just how tall this man really was, a whole head taller than her. "What’s the matter? Are you already exposing yourself?"
Caleb’s eyes sparked as he looked at her. "I don’t care what your intentions are. Don’t let me see you again."
Melody quirked her lips. "What if I told you we have a common enemy? Would you still say that?"
"Not necessary."
"If it’s not necessary, then let go of me." Melody pushed away his large hand blocking her side and looked at the boy still standing in front of her. "What? Are you planning on making me scream now, claiming I’ve been harassed by a little fool? Letting The Adler Family kick you out?"
Caleb’s face darkened, and he cursed under his breath. "Damn woman!"
"Says the one pretending to be so righteous," Melody retorted, opening the car door and speeding away. Through the rearview mirror, she saw the little fool standing there, staring intently at her car, and she felt that her tactic had worked.
Quinn Villa.
"Melody, you’re back!" Little Timmy immediately tossed the computer on his lap aside and, dressed in his pajamas, dashed towards her.
Melody Thorne picked up little Timmy. "Why aren’t you asleep yet? Did you take a bath?"
"No, I haven’t finished my game," little Timmy pointed at the computer beside him and cautiously glanced at the door. "Dad didn’t come back, right?"
In the Quinn Family, little Timmy was strictly forbidden from playing games because he only played games meant for adults; childish games for kids didn’t interest him.
Melody Thorne opened the computer, feeling a bit of a headache because... she didn’t know how.
"I’ll keep an eye on the door for you. You can play a little longer," Melody offered, looking towards the entrance professionally.
She knew that Ivy was injured and Jared Quinn wouldn’t be back so soon.
"Then make sure you watch carefully," little Timmy urged as he hugged the computer.
Melody lazily replied, resting her chin in her hands as she watched the door. But suddenly, her pupils shrank as the tall figure outside already walked in.
"Timmy, Timmy, stop playing," Melody warned.
"Just a bit longer, just keep an eye on the door," little Timmy turned slightly.
Melody sighed, "..."
She watched Jared Quinn walk in from outside, his presence like a layer of frost, extremely dangerous.
His cold gaze landed on her, and he reached over Melody to take the computer from the little one’s arms, speaking coolly, "Take him back to the room to sleep."
Upon hearing Jared Quinn’s voice, little Timmy didn’t dare linger for a second longer and dashed upstairs.
Melody was speechless, "...Traitor!"
She wanted to leave too, but suddenly a large hand gripped her arm, and the man behind her picked her up, striding upstairs.
